Protip: NAC prevents hangovers. I take one before and one after if I'm expecting an epic night out. The downside is, I don't get drunk so all the drink spend is wasted money. The upside, I come across as impervious instead of naturally being the lightweight of the group. Very useful when hanging out with alcoholic salespeople if you need to work the next day.
Test it out before you need it because the taste/smell makes some people puke like crazy for half an hour...

William Bosworth Castle performed an experiment whereby he ingested raw hamburger meat and regurgitated it after an hour, and subsequently fed it to a group of 10 patients.[53][full citation needed] Untreated raw hamburger meat was fed to the control group. The former group showed a disease response, whereas the latter group did not. This was not a sustainable practice, but it demonstrated the existence of an 'intrinsic factor' from gastric juice.
> Activated charcoal has been recommended for use in poisonings by ethanol, other toxic alcohols and glycols, but it has been avoided with therapeutic use of oral ethanol. Six healthy young adults drank a dose of ethanol designed to give a peak concentration of 125 mg/dl on two different days after overnight fasting. Each individual drank the same dose on both occasions; but on one of these days, the subjects drank an aqueous slurry of 60 g of superactive charcoal prior to ethanol ingestion. We compared the pharmacokinetic profile of ethanol with and without activated charcoal treatment. The fraction of ethanol absorbed was similar on both protocols. The mean peak ethanol concentration after pretreatment with activated charcoal was 8% greater than ethanol alone (p = 0.08). Thus oral activated charcoal does not significantly impair ethanol absorption and can be used in patients requiring oral ethanol. Our results do not support the use of activated charcoal in overdose of ethanol alone.
I don't think it works.

NAC is usually used to keep your liver from getting ultra-fukt in the case of an acetaminophen overdose. Frankly, if one stocks Tylenol, one should also stock NAC. Me, I don't use analgesics. Not trying to sound macho; I'm a fucking wimp, but every time I've tried, they don't provide me relief like at all.
I don't actually know about any of the broscience about hangovers. But I doubt activated charcoal would do a damn thing for already filtered vodka, for example.
In case anyone wanted to try it, according to a 2006 study on mice, taking NAC after alcohol caused liver damage so just be aware that the science on off label usage isn't all there.
My understanding is that hangovers have to do with dehydration and electrolyte depletion. Gatorade or similar should help, but I've also heard anecdotes (from heavier drinkers than I) about somewhat salty soup making a big difference. /shrug
In 1716 the bookseller and publisher Edmund Curll acquired a manuscript that belonged to Alexander Pope. Curll advertised the work as part of a forthcoming volume of poetry, and was soon contacted by Pope who warned him not to publish the poems. Curll ignored him and published Pope's work under the title Court Poems. A meeting between the two was arranged, at which Pope poisoned Curll with an emetic. Several days later he also published two pamphlets describing the meeting, and proclaimed Curll's death.

Among some nations, such as the Persians and Russians, the married women take it as a token of love from their husbands to be soundly beaten. Barclay says of the Russian wives that they estimate the kindness of their husbands from the strokes they give them, and are never more happy than when they have met with a man of barbarous temper. He confirms it by a very singular instance, which I shall take the liberty of repeating. 'A certain fellow, Jordanes, if his name is of any moment in such a trifle, had travelled from Germany to Muscovy; there he settled and, liking the place, married a wife of the country. He loved the woman very much and, desiring by all means a mutual affection from her, observed her still melancholy, with downcast eyes, often sighing and betraying other signs of a discontented mind. But when her husband enquired the cause of her affliction, affirming that he was not wanting in love and respect, - "Oh," replies the wife, "aren't you a fine dissembler of love! D'ye think I don't know how despicable I am to you?" and immediately she fell into a fit of crying and sighing. The man, quite astonished, began to embrace her and ask in what way he had offended her, so that he might make amends in the future. And the woman answered: "Where are your blows and beatings, the proofs of your love? Sure it is that in this country they are the only proofs we accept." When Jordanes heard this, his amazement at first hindered his laughter, but soon after, when both were over, he thought it for his interest to use her as she had prescribed, and not long after took an occasion to beat her; and she, growing into good humour by the influence of the cudgel, from that time forward began to love and esteem her husband in earnest.'

As someone who has watched Gundam, I can assure you it's worth at least a smirk. I'll watch it again and smirk on your behalf.
It's pretty unlikely that someone who spends their spare time roleplaying as an extremely high-quality table decoration spends the rest of their time causing trouble for anyone.
We are all connected by something far greater. Memes. The DNA of the soul. They shape our will. They are the culture -- they are everything we pass on. Expose someone to anger long enough, they will learn to hate. They become a carrier. Envy, greed, despair... All memes. All passed along.

n 2005, Cromartie sued the makers of a film based on the manga/anime series Cromartie High School in Japanese court. The series does not feature Cromartie himself but does depict students who "smoke, fight with students from other schools and are depicted as ruffians" which he says defames his character as the school shares his name.

Prochlorococcus and other ocean phytoplankton are responsible for 70 percent of Earth's oxygen production. However, some scientists believe that phytoplankton levels have declined by 40 percent since 1950 due to the warming of the ocean. Ocean temperature impacts the number of phytoplankton in the ocean.

The one thing that might be said for societal collapse is that—for a while at least—everyone is equal. In 1915 an earthquake killed 30,000 people in Avezzano, Italy, in less than a minute. The worst-hit areas had a mortality rate of 96 percent. The rich were killed along with the poor, and virtually everyone who survived was immediately thrust into the most basic struggle for survival: they needed food, they needed water, they needed shelter, and they needed to rescue the living and bury the dead. In that sense, plate tectonics under the town of Avezzano managed to re-create the communal conditions of our evolutionary past quite well. “An earthquake achieves what the law promises but does not in practice maintain,” one of the survivors wrote. “The equality of all men."

Muh no true Scotsman'' argument.
They're not liberal if they don't identify with my exact brand of liberalism.'' Yeah, okay.
My dude, modern day self-identified DSA/commie/antifa/social justice types consider themselves to be liberal. If you think liberal young people don't call themselves socialists or communists, you're living under a rock.
Like it or not, this is the modern face of liberalism in the west. It's getting increasingly extreme. But the fringe has become more mainstream.
Saying ``the only liberals are classical liberals'' is the political equivalent to wearing a fedora and thinking 1940s suits are all the rage. Things change as time goes on. You can't ignore it.

I will stop shitposting when you stop posting garbage like DQN isn't a good fit for you'' or

I am a bystander in your dumb little back-and-forth, ever thought about that possibility? Put your garbage (shitty opinions and petty bickering) in the correct receptacles (threads). At least sage your off-topic shit. Just because you want to fling your turds at one guy you don't agree with, doesn't mean the rest of us should suffer this infantile nonsense.

Let's ignore the obvious fact that "you" is both the singular and plural form.
You're the one perpetuating it, no? When someone annoys you, do you lack the ability to ignore them and get on with your life, or is your only available reaction to throw a tantrum and shit up half a dozen threads?
>>464
I wish it wasn't, English should've stuck with thee, thou, thine for singular, ye, you, yours for pluaral and dropped the formality associated with it.
