Sword is better than the Alola games so far. Its not as closed off and handhold-y. I dig the wild area the most so far but that means Game Freak will remove it and put a slightly worse but similar feature next generation.
The biggest thing story mode in pokemon needs is an actual douchebag rival like Blue or Silver that you feel good about destroying instead of a friend you just feel guilty about dream-crushing like Hao. I still am surprised they didnt have him turn evil in USUM.
