these fucking comic book collectors i swear to god

i just wanna read a physical copy of a comic from the late 90s, why is it shit expensive

it's been published 3 times in paperback and once in hardcover too and yet they all have one volume that's twice the price of all the others

this is intentional, right? the publishers must intentionally do short runs of the penultimate volume so that they can keep making money off new print runs

somebody who does comics tell me if i'm just being paranoid
