It's an op just on the basis that there have been a million more stories around China and the CCP being thrown around seemingly with the intent of seeing which one sticks in the public consciousness, it just so happened that it was the social credit meme, and I figure it sticked because the west already has a deep affinity for arbitrarily grading and gatekeeping social mobility.
