speaking of perfectly capturing the jewish character my favorite part of the bible is when god is talking to abraham before he destroys sodom & gomorrah. and abraham is like, if there were 50 good people in sodom, would you spare the city? what if it we counted and it were actually only 45, surely you wouldn't destroy the city because of 5 people? like at this point he's been the first jew for about ten minutes and he's already HAGGLING WITH GOD.
