I just ate a handful of uncooked rice. this is great because there's no cooking facilities here at work. it is also very great because you eat grain by grain and then it soaks all the water and you go :l.

oh, see, I just take some dry rice, put it in my mouth and wait.
After a while, the saliva predigests it, turning it into mud.
then I can swallow it easily, no problem for the stomach.

My apartment
Dinner: Beef flautas (tortilla tubes filled with shredded, seasoned beef), pico de gallo, and roasted corn. It's the first time I made my own pico de gallo (chopped tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, cilantro).

Now I'm going to make dessert--mixed berries, ladyfingers (a finger-shaped light pastry/cookie-thing), vanilla ice cream, and a little whipped cream.

For lunch I had Afghan food. It was very good, although I feel awkward eating it because I don't know the rules or etiquette or names of things.
