y/n?
I don't think you need to worry about 4chan confusion, since the absence of text and anonymity friendly environment quickly detracts 99% of people coming here thinking they are going to 4chan.
As for people NOT coming here, because they think this is 4chan, I think that's also a non issue. People capable of learning about 2ch are also capable of distinguishing between 4ch and 4chan,...
You're all wrong! The real problem is that there's a hyphen in the URL, and that spells DEATH.
Also the first paragraph of >>102 is confusingly written.
I'm going to sound arrogant, but I'm doubtfull about the contribution of people who can't access a website because of one hypen in the URL,...
No shit. I have more issues with people who don't understand that web sites don't necessarily start with "www."
If you forget that the hyphen is there, and you go to 4ch.net, that's a barrier that most people won't bother to try and work around... though admittedly Google and Ask point here when you search for 4ch.
It's probably a combination between >>103 and >>99 at issue. And even though people can tell the difference, some people get angry that they have to, especially if they never heard the ni-channeru/futaba story. "What kind of asshole names their website to be exactly the same as someone else's similar website?"
But, it's that 2ch/2chan symmetry that causes people to find 4-ch in the first place.
Once we get critical mass, we can probably create our own story...
This place is nice.
And that's all, I wouldn't worry that much.
It's not like some random flamers would put down the whole community.
>>106
the English version of Wikipedia starts with ``en.''
>>109
Congrats, you pass. Most people would try to put www. on the front.
what about http://deli.cio.us
and what about http://goatse.cx/
i think m♥♥t is a pretty cool guy
eh wishes to be the little girl and doesn't afraid of anything
i think >>117 is a pretty cool guy
eh wishes to be a gay little black boy and doesn't afraid of anything
i think 4chan is a pretty cool guy eh comes to 4-ch when it's down and doesn't afraid of not lurking moar
i think >>118 is a pretty failure
eh wishes to be cool and is afraid of everything
i think /b/ sucks cock. The clique mentality and incomprehensibly dense inside jokes and newbie-hostility, are all worse than on pseudonymous forums. I thought anonymity was supposed to curb these problems?
And, even outside /b/, there's a thick layer of hostility.
I think >>121 is a pretty ugly guy.
eh wants to be cool and doesn't afraid of anything.
Well,... I think by default clique feeling is much weaker in anonymous forums, although of course there is a common culture, like in any community, that newbies will be confrontend with.
Still, here you can be sure that nobody will exclude you, since you are not identified, and you can easily ignore stupid or agressive comments. You have no past dragging you down, and don't need to worry about your future reputation. You just need to know the tropes of the place to use it with minimum friction.
Anonymity is no protection against stupidity, ranting, fooling around. But you can just ignore what you are not interested in, and be assured that nobody has a nasty agenda against you personally.
like-y 4-ch, but is difficult to introduce.. can't pronounce "ch" people keep calling it "chan"
try "four dash see aich dot net"
4-channel
that clears it up. Why would anyone ever confuse "4chan" with "4-channel"?
I say we make the "ch" stand for something else. "4-cheese!"
I'll leave it to one of you to register the d0main and set up a redirect.
4-cheese dammit!
I think time has shown that 4-ch is indeed a failed experiment.
Currently the best site on the internet.
some forums are active, even those that are not are still a success, people haven't forgotten about them they are just very slow
even if it takes months or years for a reply it is still good
Only time will tell if this site will become famous or not.
but, right now i like this site because it feels like a secret deepweb site or something.
internet catchphrases
I like this place. One of the places I'll keep checking from time to time always
Internet fyads :smug:
4-ch is a cult classic!
No way! 4ch is the authentic chan experience as opposed to meme tier 4chan. We're the real rebels, the true underground who bask in a site that almost feels like a 1980's dialup BBS.

This is one of the most un-hipster places I can think of.
Today's 4chan is a lot like malt liquor. Only dumbasses and the underage still use it, and the end result is vomiting.
4-ch is like a fine wine, we store our content sometimes for years in the basement, only to be opened on occasion. Along with the old memes.
I generally agree with >>38, always have.
ok my dicks out, now what?
Hi. I'm Harambe, and this is my Zoo. I live here with my old zookeeper and banana, Big Yellow. Everything in here has a heart and a mind. One thing I've learned after 17 years - you never know WHAT is gonna come over that enclosure.
This place feels like it'll last forever. Decades from now when the reign of imageboards has finally expired, this humble little textboard will still be hosted on some lonely server for old men to reminisce. It will be kind of a lifeline to the past.
It already is.
4-ch is a runaway experiment
Forch is my favorite website
4-ch.net is a bad domain name and squeeks is a real poophead for choosing it!
