The service has its degree of relevance within modern digital communication, but is inundated with clutter in the form of widespread censorship and endless streams of throwaway reply chains. Perhaps the sheer quantity of garbage posted on the site helps to facilitate the promulgation of any quality content whatsoever. lol
I've heard that the Fediverse and other node-based, decentralized services are better as means of actually free communication, but I still have yet to look into either one of those two too much.

It requires you to provide a phone number, so I don't use it. I had a twitter account at one point, talking into the void made me fucking insane, nobody ever reads you there.

I go to Twitter only for quick updates...the platform as a whole is shit and the general userbase is as insufferable as the average plebbitor.
I only go to Twitter to get fanart these days since every single artist on the planet seem to have migrated to it. What happened to sites like Deviantart? Has online galleries really become obsolete?

I still use Mastodon, a tool made by SAOVQ people.
I know less people using Twitter now than I knew in 2015. Almost every Twitter user I knew has quit the platform.
The rare occasion I find myself on there, half the posts feel like they were written by bots.
A number of Mastodon developers were involved with the SAoVQ community many years ago, as odd as that sounds.
There's two kinds of twitter users: obnoxious people and people who barely use it.
