I want to program, but I keep jerking off all day instead. This continues for 3rd month already. Why make videogames, when there are so many existing ones.

Writing complex computer programs require significant intelligence and focus. If you can't handle writing simple computer programs, you're not cut out for any computer programming.

Just learn the C programming language. Most languages stem from this. Then choose another that you wish to use for what you want. Program simple shit with this language and read others people code.
Don't use programming languages that try to hold your hand or do all the work for you.

Good. Programming is gay anyways.

I've felt the same way for most of my adult life in regards to programming. I love the thought and idea of creating a handful of software applications and have even thoroughly documented some of them and maintained them over the past decade, but once I think out all the features I'd like for something to have I lose interest before ever writing the first line of code.

Over the years when I look back and reflect I've come to realize that I'm just a daydreamer and the moment I fulfill my daydream/fantasy I quickly lose interest in whatever that something was. I've also realized that I like quick development type projects that don't require years of my time and focus. This is why I've always loved web development since the early 2000's because you start from nothing and can quickly develop something to completion relatively quickly before you have enough time to lose that focus.

Just about all of my web projects are basic CRUD type projects and the rest are just localhost type stuff that I did or do to try and keep my interest and stay up-to-date on my skills and programming language changes.

The only project that is public as of right now is my from scratch textboard which has kinda fell by the wayside. It can be found at: http://www.PRTF.net/. I soon will retire this project for something smaller that I'm currently developing but due to my family duties and job responsibilities I don't have much free time to keep at the development.

Probably correct. Wasn't sure how else to keep out spammers and bots without captcha.

Honeypot fields is a good start.
Even just two checkboxes where one is hidden for the user with css tricks that don't make it too obvious it's a honeypot, and another checkbox that literally just says "check this if you are not a bot". A bot will see both of them and likely fuck up clicking the wrong one or both or neither. A user will see one and click it and submit.
Probably one hidden field that pretends to be the real comment field as well.

That will filter out 99% of untargeted spam.
Until you get targeted spam, nothing more complicated needed.

Most spam that comes on imageboards and textboards I believe to be done manually though. I have witnessed so many boards get the same spam, and many of them had custom written captcha solutions and got the same spam next day.
