Most that live here don't even know what Ukraine even is, that's how out of touch with the current trends regular people here are. There weren't even mask mandates except for at the hospitals during 2020. Not that anyone actually even bothered wearing them. Mostly saw people wear a bandana on their necks and would raise them up for a second if at all when asked by someone. A male with slightly long hair gets constantly harassed and screamed at by anyone who passes him by. Someone gets murdered all the time which doesn't seem to even phase anyone anymore. A guy I went to school with just got locked up for chopping up a girl into pieces with an axe. He was found doped up on heroin naked next to the chopped up body covered in blood. I think I'm going to start seriously referring to this place as the "savage lands" because fucking dammit, it's accurate as hell.
