How long have you been using 4-ch? I see a lot of people bicker about none of the original users being present on sites like this one, world2ch, saovq, but are there any real original users on any of these still around? I started using 4-ch in 2008 and world2ch(.org) in 2012 but original users for 4-ch would be from 2004-2006, and for world2ch it would be anytime from the original run in 2003-04. I don't see many traces of these users still being around.
I started browsing DQN sometime in the mid-6000s, so around 2011. I wish I could've been around for the beginning, the archived threads from really early on have a fun anarchic sort of energy to them.
I've been here all summer.
Maybe 2019 or somewhere around that time. SchemeBBS was my first texboard, then later this place, and even later NEET BBS. Too bad I never really encountered SAoVQ, it looked like an interesting place judging from the archives and people talking about it.
I used to be around, then I kinda stopped.
But I recalled fond memories of JISAKU JIENS in the dark of the night,
So I came back to see what what what has been going on.
I discovered 4-ch when it was added to the iichan/wakachan sidebar around 2005. Not the very beginning, but close.
I remember DQN having Kareha's SILLY_ANONYMOUS names and, I think, the original Squeeks thread.
I used to own one of the T-shirts that Squeeks (the Australian human) made of Junior saying "That's a severe Internet, Grandpa!" but it got ratty and I threw it away.

Do you have any photos of the t-shirt? I've been wondering for many, many years now what they would have looked like.
since 1993

Don't think I have any photos, sorry, or if I do I have no idea what they are.
To my recollection the shirt had:
( ´ω`) http://4-ch.net/
on the front, and on the back:
(・∀・) That's a severe Internet, Grandpa!
Both on a single line in standard Mona font. The font was black and on the small side. The shirt itself was that mottled light grey texture that shirts sometimes come in.
My memory is shit though so don't trust me.
idk, but i still come here at least once a week
2021. This was my first textboard, and I used to lurk 4ct before it got whatever google-ass appearance it has now.
w2ch's imgbnoard css changed to gold for gold week. should we do that?

We should come up with our own thing.
Like goldfish crackers.
But photoshop them all to have AA character faces.

I used to browse textboards more, but its been a while.
So let me get this straight:
4ct.org used to be styled in the common Kareha style. Didn't the servers feel extremely slow? (though it was really an HTTP header to make the browser cache not expire for a long time)?
And didn't they also have an image on the homepage showing a list of major viruses and their origin, emphasizing those which originated in China? Or what that world4ct.org (if I even got the domain right) before that textboard died?
But yeah, the when I last check on 4ct, DAMN, the new style was awful.
