Would 4-ch want to compete in a competition against other BBSes? The competition will be an online vidya game bracket until a winner is decided. There will likely be otaku BBSes there you don't like, but it would worth it to win the BBS cup.
Too many of the regulars have arthritis and started gaming way back on the 2006. I doubt they'd win anything in the 21st century. They'd probably have a nervous breakdown seeing any game with 3D graphics running at 60 fps.
It isn't possible to play games anonymously unless everyones game is patched and would require everyone to have the same game.
I first started playing video games in 1992 and I think calling it “gaming” is gay as hell
>>5 I once saw a 30 year old ad for some "arcade's greatest hits" compilation for the SNES that called "people who play video games" "gamesplayers", is that heterosexual enough for you?
(to me it sounds stupid)
it is intended that someone will come forth with a tripcode or something
>>6 The need for labels is stupid and I don't respect people who identify with them. I play games but I don't define myself by it. I read books and listen to music but I'm not a “booker” or “musicer”. If I was at a party and someone said “I collect stamps as a hobby” I'd say something like “Nice, what's your favourite stamp you found?” but if they said “I'm a stamp collector” I'd think they were shallow, and I wouldn't be that interested in what they had to say
"Competition with other BBSes" first made me think of something like 4chan's 4Chan Cup events.
I don't usually pay a lot of attention to it, but it's kind of neat to see what the different boards and threads see as their primary memes to present to outsiders.
And to see how much effort they're willing to put into giving them appropriate models.
And it's all RNG anyway, so you can't really complain about the results.
But as far as an actual multiplayer competitive thing, I've never really been into those.
Back on sovietrussia's /f/ board people would post Flash games, and I'd share my high score to see if anyone would try and beat me, but no one ever did...

I don’t think they put much effort in that anymore. It just seems routine now.
