You need to be making more money. So you're making $700 a month? In my city, $700 is what you'll spend on a studio apartment in a relatively crime-free area each month. And that doesn't include electricity and food and Internet.

Your inability to save is a weakness in character. I don't think you'll last very long in the real world until you learn to solve it.

Saving isn't going to help much in affording a bigger place as rent is a recurring expense. No matter how much you save you will eventually be screwed. The only solution is to earn more.

Me, I have reached a turning point at the moment. I get around $5k per month, blow a couple grand on expenses, a grand on hobbies, a grand on relaxation services and still save a grand. Problem is, I want to buy a place next. And I know that when I do that, some of my leisure money is going to vanish. :-(

So here's hoping for a payrise which can cover something decent.

Keep in mind, all the crap you spend your money on is just going to take up more space in your room, and being only able to afford a crappy small apartment, you're just going to have to throw it out or give it away when it overflows anyway.

I used to be that way until I started having to pitch in for college. Mostly, it's a phase and you eventually start buying things from series you really want to support. For those things, I have a large wall shelf to display figures and stuff on and I occasionally rotate the items.

By the way, saving is a good idea. Do it or you'll regret it later.

OP is more than likely still living with his parents and has probably amassed a wide assortment of Japanese figurines on his shelves. Good luck wherever you are OP and take it easy.
