I was a FORMER Gaiafag. I liked it for a bit, then I realized everyone was more concerned more about their e-penis and vagoo than actually talking about things. And the RPing is extremely lame and clothes buying is about as evil and explotive as shit; and the monthly payments... What the hell, isn't that Real Money Trading? Yetch. And the lot, about 40% of people who discussed Anime, Real Life Drama and Video Games were total douches and for about another 20% were more concerned about what the hell their internet character's going to wear. And how did I become a former? Easy. Banned. For posting up the truth about how everyone was being total dicks and e-persona faggots.
If GaiaFagLand is going to be an MMORPG, there's one thing I can see; it's going to be fucking failing below what we're seeing now.

Actually, I use Gaia quite a bit. It is free etc, costs no money, so where those notions came from I have no idea.
The forum range is pretty huge, ranging from fashion to games to food to computer tech to just random spam ...actually, that sounds like somewhere else doesn't it?

I started on Gaia in early 2004...It was fun then. There was /b/ influence on the forums but not in gross amounts, there were little 'cliques' but the people in them were interesting and worth the common users' attention, the site was just entertaining and good for boredom. The RPing was still lame, though.
Anyway, in 2006 I pretty much quit going there. It's just a big shitstorm now, I hate it, and I feel like an oldfag whenever I say so :(

Gaia is horrible. due to the Longcat Raid, I made a gaia account for psyops (lurking with the intent to gather information/influence the userbase without trolling) and it was some painful shit. looking through the threads made me fill with rage towards every part of gaia. The 14 year old users, the avatars, the text bubbles, the stupid unnecessary pretty text, artfags, and the cheesy stupid announcements.
lurking gaia actually hurt. This is why I hate gaia.

I made a stupid bump topic that was very popular. I made lots of little medals for people to earn and gave away items. Then one day I can't log in to that account!!! After months of thinking I was stupid and just lost my password I find out this year that there is a fucking glitch that makes it so you can't login to your account.
So I cry for help from the mods. They in the past were always nice to me and helped me. So I'll get help for this right? NOT.

Solia is my favorite. I like it ut will never say I love it after what happened on gaia online. How ever I have learned a lesson from gaia..there is no such thing as an Internet home and no site will ever get my total love and trust again.
May seem silly to you but having a place online a person can go onto every day, talk with friends and have fun is really nice you know? Yes, a lot of Gaia is full of people being idiots, being being extremely shallow and usually users are utterly too obsessed with how they're going to dress their avatars.
However, there are areas within the websites, like the 'guilds', which are private forums where like minded users can talk about normal stuff without morons getting in the way. They're a good place to share common interests.
Also, people saying that you have to pay money to enjoy Gaia - you're wrong. Yes, you can pay for added benefits like new items, etc, but it's optional. I have enough virtual wealth on that site to buy literally anything there, and I've never spent a real penny.

... it is true that Gaia has changed a lot since it was created. And that the creation of Gaia Cash and all the worthwhile new items have become items you have to buy with real money have brought the grading of Gaia down a lot. But it is a site to grow out of. Time changes websites and people, doesn't it?
I, personally, still go on to Gaia to talk to friends through Privaite messages and guilds merely because I have friends who only use Gaia. Its the only reason that I still go on it.
So even though websites have their downsides, they can have some upsides too. And if the sites don't make you happy, then its just best to ignore them like they don't exist.
Gaia online was created by those Japanese wannabes because they thought naming a site after a Greek Mythological figure is OMGSOAWESHUMNORIGINAL. But they failed to see that they only attracted 13 year-old girls and prostatots looking for a way to whore themselves to popularity. GAIA losers are on facebook now that it's synced up with Ocean Party shit. I played the game before they let you sync it, and now everyone is fucking adding me on there. I have one friend who started mass adding people from the game as neighbors, and now he keeps suggesting his friends to me.
