Anime - Japanese Animation - is just a medium.

The saccharine moe talk, the autism of chuunis, the incessant screaming of shounen protags, fanservices boobas, &c are all tropes which you may or may not incorporate in a show.

Miyazaki films comes to mind that almost have normal voice acting
