Hello, 4-ch!
I have a girlfriend and we've been going out for 8 months. Although we have been going out for these past months, something still bothers me as much as those men out there who have the same issues - she's someone else's mistress.

Her benefactor is a really powerful man. Though she told me she has been trying to break up with him, the man still refuses to leave her. That's not where the problem ends as well. She thinks she's indebted to this..benefactor and thus it makes it hard for her to leave him as well. But she does try to get away from him.

She's pregnant now and I really do love her. Only problem is I'm really bothered about the benefactor. I fear this might cause problems in our relationship in the future. What can I do to make her to stop contacting the guy? She exhibits violent behavior whenever I open up the topic to her.

Whatever you do, make sure the first thing you do when the child is born is find out if it's yours. Do not sign anything until those tests come back. Ask a lawyer what to do, because this could turn into an expensive monetary problem long after the relationship comes to an end.

If the child is yours, you're in a bit of a sticky situation. Otherwise, you really should be moving on and find someone else with less baggage. The relationship is poisoned and not worth salvaging; a healthy relationship requires equal commitment. In this case the other two parties are getting what they want (her claims to the contrary), and you're left playing the fiddle.

This is the sad reality. This isn't the movies where there's always a happy ending, and people do not change (short of ending up in a warzone). If she's doing this now, you should take those rose-colored love glasses off and see the obvious writing on the wall.

You must be pretty young, because most self-respecting adults looking for a serious relationship would have dropped such a person like a hot potato. As it is, if that child is yours, you're life has now irreversibly gone in an unpleasant direction; not leaving her earlier will have been a very bad mistake.

I'm sorry to be the harsh harbinger of bad news. There's just no way to sugar-coat this.
