We should add some new boards here how about a otaku culture board for discussing otaku culture and other types of otaku stuff a NEET/hikikomori board for people who don't work or go to school and stay at home and live with their parents a Japan general discussion board to discuss Japan and Japanese culture.
don't forget Japan/General and 2D/Random
Those sound more like boards for imageboards not textboards.
I think some of these are OK ideas, but more as replacements for existing boards than as new ones in addition to them.
Anime and Manga could be rolled into a single 'Japanese pop culture' board. I don't think otaku culture and general Japanese culture deserve separate boards. If they were two boards, the latter would probably be dead or only contain threads that overlap with other boards (like Fashion and Music.)
There'd be an argument to roll everything under the Culture header (and possibly Fashion, Food and Hobbies as well) into just one board called something like Culture or Media or Hobbies, not country specific.
Personal Issues is effectively the NEET/hikikomori board already except for rare visits by normies. IAA was one too long ago but turned into general textboard & imageboard discussion at some point. NEET/hikikomori posts may still be on topic there.
Just use /personal/ for NEET/hikki blogposts.
if anything, this site needs more users and not more boards
We need to archive all these threads from the 2000s and start fresh to be honest.
new boreds
>how about a otaku culture board for discussing otaku culture and other types of otaku stuff
There are already multiple boards for that.
>a NEET/hikikomori board for people who don't work or go to school and stay at home and live with their parents
It's called Personal.
>a Japan general discussion board to discuss Japan and Japanese culture.
You're trolling now, right?
There's no way someone would think a board like this would go well in an anonymous English site.
It's prime flame material.
Also, ''otaku culture'' boards bring out the worst shitposters to sites, and most of those guys aren't really into the specified hobbies, they just want to be as random as possible.
>There are already multiple boards for that.
Fair enough.
>It's called Personal.
Personal is also used by non-NEET people.
>There's no way someone would think a board like this would go well in an anonymous English site.
Why not? this site is pretty much is the English version of 2channel and most of the boards here have to do with Japanese pop culture and nerd culture.
>''otaku culture'' boards bring out the worst shitposters to sites, and most of those guys aren't really into the specified hobbies, they just want to be as random as possible
I agree with this i hate that nerd culture became mainstream and that normalfags took over geek/nerd culture it is easy to spot a larper.
>Personal is also used by non-NEET people.
Is that really a problem?
>Why not? this site is pretty much is the English version of 2channel
It really isn't because it's too little compared to 2/5channel and it's also an international site.
>and most of the boards here have to do with Japanese pop culture and nerd culture.
Which are different things compared to more general discussion about Japan/Japan's culture and attract even more flaming, trolling and retardation.
''Just bought this fake katana on an antique shop, can anyone help me identify what the kanji on the blade mean?'' thread x one million.
>Is that really a problem?
No but it would be nice if NEETs had their own board.
>It really isn't because it's too little compared to 2/5channel and it's also an international site.
You do realize we have Japanese people who post here too right?
>Which are different things compared to more general discussion about Japan/Japan's culture and attract even more flaming, trolling and retardation.
Well if admin moderates it it should be fine.
> if admin moderates it
lel
New admin has actually been doing a good job dealing with spam/trolls, but we don't need to increase their workload by creating even more boards as dead as those that already exist.
>You do realize we have Japanese people who post here too right?
You missed my point.
What I'm saying is that unlike 2/5channel on this site the mods would have to deal with a never sleeping bunch of international shitposters and you need lots of manpower to deal with that.
>Well if admin moderates it it should be fine.
It won't unless there's a mod around all day every day.

It's honestly starting to get pretty annoying, and I'm begining to wonder it it isn't just a (very low-effort) trolling attempt.
Don't feel like cooking up a new page for it, please consider this your warning.
If you want people to stop lashing out at newfag younger anons then perhaps it is best to ban these kids and trolls.
people? as in plural?
there are no ``kids and trolls'', its all just regulars posting this shit to rile you up
imagine being a regular on site which prunes quality discussion (remember boards that are deleted now?)
>>31
I don't think bringing back /sexuality/ will be returning some grand quality discussion.
That may be the case for some posters but i guarantee you teenagers from faguri are here because on that shit site they have a green textboard and this site has been advertised there.
You mean the long post I wrote insulting you? I wouldn't call that an advertisement.
>faguri
>>34
whats wrong with heyuri, also whats a green textboard
heyuri's textboards use an Ayashii-themed stylesheet. It's rather nice. Not sure why he felt the need to mention it so explicitly.
How many times do i have to say it? Heyuri is trying to be like 4chan in 2004 but it's users completely miss the point of what made 4chan so interesting and special when it was new in the first place. Not only that but as i pointed out in other post the users there are quite young so they aren't even old enough to remember the old 4chan culture from 2003-2008 and a lot of this happened before they were born too so my point is when these kids try to fit in with older internet users like Kuz or myself and adopt the shitposting and lingo speak of the 90s and 2000s internet it honestly just comes off as cringey and forced and they are acting like a bunch of tryhards. Not to mention the site itself seems very broken for example when i go to make a new post i have to do it multiple times because a error keeps popping up despite the fact that i did everything right it is really fucking annoying and Kuz himself is a asshole and despite my feelings towards lolico i didn't like how Kuz stabbed him in the back. So my entire point is Heyuri and most other sites like it are just pale imitations of the originals and you can never capture that lightning in a bottle ever again most real oldfags killed themselves moved on and became normalfags or are in my situation.
The Ayashii-theme doesn't work on there it is a eye sore to look at.
I rather like the Ayashii theme bienvenido or whatever their is has.
their name is has*
>you can never capture that lightning in a bottle ever again
I sort of agree. These websites are, for a lack of a better word, quite reactionary. They're pretty sterile in that they're unable to produce new things, forever stuck in trying to relive something they never got to experience in the first place.
>>40
You dont understand heyuri at all, and from what ive seen it produces quite alot of original content, and actively DISCOURAGES recycling old jokes. I agree the site is broken but according to kuz its due for a software change in literally the next few days if not today.
>>41
How does it not work? I think your just massively butthurt about kuz banning you once.
speaking of which... i think we should steal heyuris ayashii theme and put it up here, its pretty close to the original
>[Ayashii World's theme] is a eye sore to look at when it is on a 2ch style textboard
For a so-called "oldfag" you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
>>42
Bienvenido has really nice themes.
>>44
Reminder that reactionary and reactive are two different things.
Is wanting to return to a previous state of things not the very definition of reactionary?
