The fact that it's still possible to get an e-mail address as easy as 20 years ago is a fact widely hated by international governments; at least the parts of those governments which have dedicated countless resources to target our service, our team, our family, and our friends with illegal surveillance, bad-jacketing, organized disinformation, and much worse.

I use vfemail.net. Only caveat is that even though it's technically free they put a limit of 100 emails in your inbox and insert their advertisement in your outgoing mail unless you make a one time payment of 25$
It's apparently working now.
Though I don't understand the appeal. Just make your own email server. It's not hard. If you swim in circles obscure enough to even know what cock.li is you probably already run Linux and probably have another computer to use as a server.

Email was always such a faff to set up if you had some kind of virtual private server or whatever. Web hosting and so on, no problem. MySQL, PHP, game servers, all easy. Postfix or whatever? Fucking nightmare.
I was happy to just accept some web host's shitty webmail interface, usually you could connect with your own mail program anyway. Now most people use webmail or apps, and I think email is one of those areas where the internet has actually changed for the better.
