That's not stupid at all; I'm much the same. I just recently started reading Tsukihime, and the English patch has a long disclaimer saying you must agree to use this only with official copies, not with pirated versions, that left a lump in my throat. Pirating anime is somewhat justifiable as the anime companies don't really expect any significant sales outside of Japan anyway. Pirating games really does fuck over companies a lot though, especially the smaller ones.
