The friends/connections he made at those schools has afforded him, and me as his grubby +1, the opportunity to attend some pretty big, rich people parties: a few in Sag Harbor and East Hampton and several up in Greenwich, CT and Fairfield county. These people are as rich as TS, if not richer. At the engagement party in Sag Harbor - no professional photographer. At the fundraiser in Greenwich, no professional photographer - and it was a fairly important fundraiser with a few C/B-list celebs in attendance.

Normal peeps, even very rich peeps, don't hire a professional photog for their parties unless they want to be seen. Maybe she can't breath air and needs social media exposure to stay alive.
