My idea, based on her friend's interview and the fact that she didn't fly to LA to meet him halfway, is that TS dumped him and he ran to RI with a present to convince her otherwise.

Then again maybe TS enjoy wasting money on fuel. I don't get it, shoes, clothes, purses&scarf for the occasional hide-in-the-fence..wait, that was another girl...sure, but fuel?

Thing is, as long as TS doesn't have a new bf TH will always be the last and his name will always be mentioned in connection to hers, no matter what.
