It's always the weirdest thing to explain. People love hard and fast rules for something as complex as human language; y'know, that thing where usage of a very simple grammatical point could take like one page of explanation and another page of examples to actually give you the picture. There are terms of abuse which should often get translated to swears but you can show them on TV no problem as long as it's in the right time slot (and boy howdy does Asian TV have tantrums that put Donald Duck to shame). There are un-PC/fukinshin words that do get censored, but they are exactly that, not swears like some idiots claim.

They inconsistently do the p0n0s and vag00 thing, though. AFAICT that has to do with the equally inconsistently enforced porn laws. I mean, even they can't explain that shit.
