Well, to me it's not an "everyday word", one because I'm not that naughty, but two because it stuck out as oddly quaint, really.
In recent years, this sort of vituperative turf-contact-refuser goes straight for the melodramatic identity insults. Like people used to not abuse the terms "pedophile" or the N-word (you know... German person...) as much as they do in the past 10 years, and I was wondering if they're just shifting to neutral because they've lost their sting.
But I am losing the war with age, too. Genuinely not in touch with new stuff. I heard someone say "out of pocket" a few years ago to mean something non-budgetary and had to look it up.v
