Persona 5 is such a damn long game. I've been playing it since it came out in the UK in what little gaps of free time I have and I've only just gotten to December.
It's a great game, but it's been a while since I played something this long. I'm getting fatigued.

You're almost done so keep pushing forward.
The second time you play it (if you're planning on playing again that is) things will move definetely faster
Okumura on hard is seriously too strong.
Made a Trumpeter in Persona 5.
It's a pretty nice persona but the three riders and the Hell Niker were cooler.
20 days left to max Haru (3( and the gamer kid (3).
I don't think I can do this.
Started playing SMTIV: Apocalypse.
Four hours in and I can already say that this game destroys its prequel.
I finally got around to playing P2: Innocent Sin. It's fantastic, really enjoying it.

I want to play it too but there's no Eternal Punishment PAL version so playing only the first part would be annoying.

At least one person here is actually discussing mainline. Have you beaten it yet? I think it's superior to IV purely because of it's battle system, but the character design/writing is terribad.
>At least one person here is actually discussing mainline
Hahaha, posts 1,3.7 were all made by me (site's a zombie, can't help it).
>Have you beaten it yet?
I haven't beaten it yet but I'm almost there, crawling around in the final (and worst) dungeon.
>but the character design/writing is terribad.
You think so?
The story is interesting enough to me and the writing it's absolutely superior to IV, a game that I didn't like at all.
>posts 1,3.7 were all made by me
kek
>the writing it's absolutely superior to IV
Can I ask what you think is better about the writing in IV:A? I can see you liking it more because the story itself is more densely packed and there seems to be just more story in general, but the characters (besides maybe Dagda and the Divine Powers) are just so fucking bad and pandering in my opinion. Not to offend the rest of the thread, but IV:A seems to be taking lots of things from Personas 3-5, which I very much don't like and don't think is a good direction for the series.
>the story is more tense and overall solid than the previous entry of the series
Agree to disagree I guess. I enjoyed the slow burn of IV's beginning, and since I hadn't really seen any promo material for the game, I wasn't spoiled for the Tokyo reveal or anything else.
>The general character design is okay if you ask me, did you particularly dislike certain characters?
I was mainly talking about the characters' roles in the story and dialogue etc. but yeah I also don't like any of Doi's designs at all, besides Dagda's.
>Maybe at the next Tokyo Game Show we'll see some actual footage of the game, with gameplay and all
I'm fucking hyped for whatever the new game will be (I'm assuming SMT V because of the 25th anniversary logo). It looks like a return to form for SMT with how minimal/abstract the teaser was. With that said, I kind of doubt we'll get anything new for that project until Deep Strange Journey comes out in Japan at least.
>and since I hadn't really seen any promo material for the game, I wasn't spoiled for the Tokyo reveal or anything else.
I was spoiler free too when I played the game but I still didn't like how slow everything was before getting out of Mikado.
>I was mainly talking about the characters' roles in the story and dialogue etc.
Ah, I see.
The characters are nothing special but I enjoyed them for what they are (and I also enjoyed Navarre's ''character redemption''.)
>It looks like a return to form for SMT with how minimal/abstract the teaser was
It definetely felt like a teaser in the vein of III with all those shadowy demons around...big boy Mara was in the trailer too as usual.
Yeah, you could tell the teaser was rushed and kinda cheap, but I really enjoyed it. What's your opinion on SMT 1&2? Or what do you consider your favorite Megami Tensei game?

Never played 'em but I would absolutely play I, II, if... and all the titles in the franchise that I haven't/can't play.
My favorite is probably Nocturne, which is a total killer game if you ask me.
How about you?
Favorite games/demons/characters?
Hopefully we'll be able to play a translated if... someday.
My favorite game ever is SMT II. It has an amazing story with good dungeons and unrivaled atmosphere.
Unfortunately it's soundtrack isn't as good as SMT I's, which is another one of my favorite games in the series.
Favorite demon is Satan, and you'll probably find out why if you play SMT II.
I can't think of a favorite character, but they would probably be one of the alignment reps of Nocturne.

Oh yeah, and I have a poster of Strange Journey in my house if that tells you anything

That's nice.
The 25th Anniversary Memorial edition of Deep Strange Journey looks darn sweet and I would buy it if I could.

Yeah I pre-ordered that the first day possible. Really looking forward to the CD's and the art book.
YHVH is one cheap piece of shit.
Scratch that, YHVH was ''tough'' only because I misunderstood the fight and approached it the wrong way.
The ending was good and I enjoyed my time with the game.
Some new Deep Strange Journey art:

Well, I don't know about ''>lol'' but thanks for the thread bumping.
DSJ came out but I haven't bought it, how about you?
>>45 I didn't buy it either, I played the original already. Even the law route. I haven't played a game yet where law seemed anywhere close to being reasonable.

March...I hope it will be something worth the wait.
https://gematsu.com/2019/03/persona-5-the-royal-announced-for-ps4
And now we wait another month...
Oh, and there's also P5S now (clearly the Switch edition of the game).
It will be unveiled on the 25th of this month.
It's pretty much what I was expecting.
More stuff tomorrow.
Turns out that P5S is actually a Musou spin-off of Persona 5!
Looks like P5R will be a meatier upgrade for P5 than P4G was for P4.
Atlus also confirmed the presence of new confidants.
Overseas release date for P5R coming soon.
