With people like Douglas Booth and Gemma Chan, it's been society - those two will show up to the opening of an envelope. Parties and catwalks - they'll be there. And their pics will end up in the DM.

With his higher profile clients, it's humanitarian. UN for EW and UNICEF for TH. That doesn't mean that they don't care for their respective campaigns. I think TH does - anyone willing to eat - not really live - on a quid a day, has commitment to a cause.

But, as you say, there's a strong mutual relationship between these charities and their respective supporters. So, It could very well be the case that Luke/TH and UNICEF decided that now would be the best time - for both of them - to talk about this trip. Otherwise, why not give it full mention - not a blurb in a circular - in the month it happened?
