Mark Ruffalo apparently confirms TH for Thor: Ragnarok http://mcuexchange.com/ruffalo-confirms-waititi-and-hiddleston-for-thor-ragnarok-and-more/
And here is the article about S Sudan....
>>252 Aw bless. I am very glad to be proven mistaken on this occasion - lets hope that the profile of "Beasts of no Nation" as well highlight this horrible practice. It must be a world and a lifetime away from what he normally sees in his world (to state the bleeding obvious).
I am a tad biased, but he does write well. No comment needed about that photo..
>>253 I am also really glad it doesn't appear to have been a di Caprio style "publicise my movie" trip given that it was released after all his movies came out (and after the original release date for ISTL even if that is now put back).
And the pic - the curls, the self-fondling, the t shirt that hasn't ever seen an iron.
Artsnight confirmed as hosted/curated by Josie Rourke and featuring TH among others. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06nngzv
BFI player q&a on High Rise with TH and Ben Wheatley: http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-high-rise-director-and-cast-qa-2015/?utm_content=bufferb3362&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitterbfi&utm_campaign=buffer
Artsnight interview is up on BBC Iplayer but here it is on YouTube for international folks: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xbqEnrMF3S0
>>257 I watched the whole program as it aired. The Erin Brockovich piece was strange, like she and JC were having two separate conversations, or EB was answering questions that were only asked in her brain. There seemed to be a disconnect.
I found TH's part boring and a re-hash of bits and pieces from other interviews: he doesn't think of himself as a rebel...no kidding. He thinks he's too polite/British to walk out of an interview...no kidding.
Now it should just be a game amongst journalists to see who's capable of asking TH a question that will cause him to take off a mic and storm out.
Twitter news:
Apparently, Shit Island was due to film at a pier in HI. This pier is easily viewed from public locations, so twitter was hopeful of some on-set pics of TH.
No joy, that I've been able to find...I've not checked Torrilla but if pics were out there, she'd have found them and then they'd be everywhere.
>>259 Not sure what I did to make the word 'news' into a link, but it isn't meant to be one, so ignore.
Finally, HR, starting today, is showing in Mexico. It's showing at Cinepolis - a fairly swanky cinema chain (think plush chairs and cocktail service) - for the next few weeks.
I think it totally needs to come over the border...certainly this is what NAFTA was meant to accomplish: the free-flow of movies I want to see from Mexico and Canada.
Producer for AMC in Asia just tweeted that there was a lot of TH's naked butt in TNM.
He's at risk of becoming as objectified as a Hollywood starlet.
>>259 The pier filming was sadly a wrong report. I would love to see some on-set pics
twitter(.)com/reeltourshawaii/status/662750078235348992
>>262 I do wonder about these tweeters' definitions of "a lot". CP was meant to be the ultimate in naked TH and in kink. 5 seconds of TH bum was what we got.
It's like the nudity clause discussion scene from Notting Hill: length of scene, curvature of arse shown, stunt butts, etc.
Maybe we should get a buttometer (arseometre) for his films, a number of the total frames of butt?
Frankly, I'm not (too) concerned about AOB (amount of butt) - hopefully, the TNM has a better script than CP!
Yeah, I figured. It was why I prefaced with the word 'apparently' - because, you know, twitter is about as reliable as getting info from a barking border collie.
'What's that, Lassie, TH's filming near a pier. Show us, Lassie, show us.'
>>266 "Lassie, Lassie, did the needle on the arseometer flicker?"
"Woof!"
One of the fx guys on CP has been releasing BTS photos over the past few weeks.
Here's one of TH getting ready for a plaster cast session, or maybe a wig fitting?
https://instagram.com/p/94BZjfmQ7B/?taken-by=daviddtsfx
I always thought he'd be a good looking baldy...now I'm not so sure!
I was just about to post this! I think it is prep to make the cast of his face he was seen working on in another pic - query for what purpose the cast was made. Hard to tell if he would be a hot bald guy due to the zany expression here.
This may give a better idea of TH as hot baldigan: http://m.weibo.cn/page/tpl?containerid=1005051846858632_-_WEIBO_SECOND_PROFILE_WEIBO&itemid=&title=全部微博#showPic
Sorry seems just to have linked to Torrilla's page generally, but you can see the pic a few entries down.
since things seem to be a be quiet around here... Crimson Peak reminded me of another film I had seen ages ago involving families, secrets, Victoriana and insects.
It does have 100% fewer ghosts and 100% fewer Hiddlestons BUT you could do worse than check out "Angesl and Insects" - bonus is an amazing performance from Mark Rylance.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3ct-wvner8
When doesn't MR give an excellent performance!
I wasn't a big fan of the Wolf Hall mini-series - I loved the books, but Damian Lewis and Claire Foy are not favorites of mine. Still, MR saved it, as did Natasha Little.
I saw his Richard II at the Globe in 03 and re-watched it years later after THC came out. MR's Richard II is the equal of BW's in THC...maybe MR pipped him even (open for debate!).
I also love MR's love for the pork pie hat! Got to love a man that wears a pork pie hat and looks good in it.
Now I want a pork pie...with some Branston's pickle.
I love MR. Saw him many many years ago at the Globe, in Cymbeline (bona fide TH link - did you see what I did there?).
If you saw Wolf Hall and have maybe some teeny reservations about its, ahem, quality, I recommend this review in The Weekly Wipe (not sure if you get this in the UK but it is a satirical review show). This review by series regulars Hlomena Cunk and Barry Shitpeas: http://youtu.be/0P-hPLgXB-s
in the US, I mean. I am in the UK. I blame the fantasy you introduced concerning pork pies, yum yum. Are these a thing Stateside?
I also love Charlie Brooker and all the 'Wipes.' I bet TH does as well (legitimate link). Doug Stanhope's 'America is Great' segment brought a patriotic tear to my eye! I bet it brought a tear to TH's eye (legitimate link).
I live in a major metropolitan area, so I'm a public transportation ride away from: a pub run by two men from County Carlow and a British-style bar run by a man from Bristol. Finally, one of my local markets has all things pie-related: Melton Mowbray, steak and kidney, steak and ale, chicken tikka - even battered sausages.
And my all-time grubby favorite: scotch eggs...I bet TH loves them, too (legitimate link).
And, I'm off to get dinner....
>>274 I couldn't get into Wolf Hall (book or film) despite trying several times .. maybe it is for me at a different age.
I just saw "Bridge of Spies" and I believe that MR has almost exactly the same accent, mournful expression on his face and .. hat.
Here are MR and TH together. If they were eating a scotch egg this would be perfect...! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A8Cw5wVQPVo
>>278 Hey that's brilliant! Thanks for the link ... that Irish lilt amongst all of the cut-glass RP .. (exceptional suit wearing as usual by Tom) oh .. and despite Simon Schama's interruptions, interesting discussion.. any more?
>>279 Links generally? I'll have a think. Links featuring MR, TH and a pork pie hat I am now out of!
>>281 did he shave his chest in places? He looks a lot hairier in the clip from TNM.
Like TH, he's another one where his voice never completely sells me, but his face/actions do. He's got those RADA-trained eyes and eyebrows - they earn their keep!
I loved the book. Her prose always flows for me - there's a pace to it I very much enjoy, especially her use of the present tense for a good part of the book.
MR isn't Irish, but he did live in the Midwest of America (Wisconsin) for a good amount of his youth, which maybe effected his accent!
No! Give us more! More TH, more MR, more pork pie hats!
I did actually go to the market yesterday and buy four scotch eggs. To my great shame, only one made it to this evening. One - along with a latte - served as 'breakfast.'
>>283 scotch eggs are utterly addictive. I have eaten more than one in a day before.
I'll starting counting and comparing...I'll get back to you!
Not really, but I bet someone is willing (psychotic enough) to do a count.
Now this is a controversy, isn't it. Because aren't there some people who swear that he used to shave his chest and underarms? They point to his bare chest in Unrelated as proof that he shaved/waxed the pecs. And they - madly, I think - say that he doesn't have underarm hair in the Corio. shower scene - you know, the one where he has strange body paint on and it's incredibly poorly lit, yeah, that one.
Maybe they gave him a chest-mirkin (is there such a thing) for TNM, so that he'd look more macho!
>>285 I was on the front row for Coriolanus and he definitely had armpit hair and rather uneven chest hair (cf the poster pic). I can't imagine manscaping an uneven shape. Men do get hairier as they get older so I am not that surprised he went from zero to some over a few years. A quick research Google (yeah, I know) suggests the hair quotient in OLLA was about the same as TNM so maybe it is just the light in this pic.
I know some one who was at eton who had curly hair and his nickname was merkin. I do wonder occasionally if they called TH this.
Yeah, but try to have that conversation/discussion with some in this 'fandom.' He shaved his chest hair and armpits - end of, full stop; they'll accept nothing else.
I think he hit puberty at about the age of 28 - no lies. So, of course he didn't have in Unrelated or SS (another one they cite) the tiny bit of hair he has now.
Nothing like a public school for nicknames - they come in only two flavors: crueler and cruelest. Merkin is especially bad, though.
I'd pay good money to know TH's school boy nickname. He does have some...tendencies that would lend themselves to a bitting nickname.
Here's a preview of the ISTL soundtrack
https://twitter. com/Time4Hiddles/status/664942351840706561
A few on twitter have already handed TH his Grammy award - I'm fairly certain that it doesn't work that way, but I'm not going to burst their bubble.
Am I the only one who thinks it's strange that there's no version of ISTL on the ISTL soundtrack?
To end my night:

Ummmmm...
Someone from Hawaii just tweeted that she saw TH and EO last night.
People are starting to ask her questions....
I'm at a boooooring work do for my sweetheart and he's giving me bad looks for spending so much time on my phone...but I feel like I need to follow this developing story...FOR THE BOARD!
I ran away to the bathroom to check twitter...what is my life!
And there's nothing. I guess there may be a pic or more tweets in the morning. Maybe it's his sister...that old chestnut.
Anyway, I now have to go back out to a conference room full of pediatricians that only know how to interact with children. Ugh.
Could it maybe have been Brie Larson? If the Twitter girl saw from a distance and was expecting to see EO with Tom, she might have assumed it was her.
>>295 good. That will prevent her from lying and stupid people assuming that TH is dating EO. they said no - both of therm. It is hard to get it in tiny brain i suppose.
as for liar from twitter - well, she saw them last night? huh, really? and tweeted it after nearly 40 hours when shehardly could hold the exitement? she is attention seeker thats all.
>>296 Oh for god's sake Lex get back under your Twitter rock. You're a cyber bully and a psycho. Your Twitter description is "real women kill blondes" and you can't even cope with the notion of Sir Thomas Sharpe ending up with Edith. You are a bona fide fruitcake.
>>297 aha yeah sure. guess what? i do, think and say what i want.
at least i have my own position and i'm not gossip thirtsy like you.
>>296 I don't know, maybe she thought it was insensitive to post about a celebrity sighting while Paris was being blown up by terrorists. Just a thought.
Well if you're not interested in gossip may I suggest you stop lurking here, instead of using what Anon. wrote to locate and then harass innocent Twitter users and/ or popping up here spewing semi-literate vitriol every time EO is mentioned.
>>299 i doubt it. I suppose people esp. in US couldnt care that much. Plus this sheclaimed to see them before the terracts. So no, it was a lie.
>>301 I wasn't going to bother arguing with you, but I can't tolerate the stereotype of Americans not caring about global events. I'm American. I care. So do all my friends, family, and coworkers.
>>294 We will never know because the unfortunate original tweeter has now deleted her post. She has tweeted about the Avengers though, so she probably knew the difference between BL and EO. I'm not sure I can bear to open this grisly can of worms again, but they were seen together in late July, then in September and now in mid November. If I were boning TH I would want to see him more frequently than that, especially if I weren't busy with a project. Maybe they're (shock horror) just good mates - or SECRET LOVE but also LOW SEX DRIVE?
Seen in september and now in november. lol. prooves? all just lies and gossips. dont worry EO isnt fucking with Tom. SHE said it. is it so hard to believe what SHE said and he AGREED.
and the author of tweeter doesnt necessary can recognize this two, they look alike too much
Not to mention that September thing comes from Toby that you laugh at. They aren't together, so stop gossiping about Tom that way. Do you realize you accuse him being a liar?
>>302 I wouldn't worry. I don't think anyone sane believes that stereotype. You are arguing with someone that even the town bycycle thinks is a fruit loop.
>>305 No, I think you'll find that they were seen together (in the sense of being in the same place at the same time) at TIFF by about 1,000 journalists!
Well surprise but at Tiff they were presenting the movie. They were kinda expected to see each other in official parts of that. We all know what happened there. That Tom couldn't care less a out her and she ( I know it's hard to get it, but try) denied their dating rumors. And he (it's even harder) agreed with her. It is official. Get over it and stop gossiping. Or do you think.k Tom being a liar?
And btw they weren't seen together apart from official stuff by ANYONE.
I will give this one final try before I ignore you forever more. Please read the post at >>303 - I said I thought it unlikely that they were dating because the most we could say was that they had been seen together 3 times over 5 months and if I were dating TH I would want to see him more frequently than that. The bit in capitals was a joke which you may have problems with because English is not your first language. So no I am not saying the dating rumours are true. Please, please try to read what is said before the red mist descends and you start typing madly.
>>310 three times ? Don't tell me you consider that liar from Twitter as truth lol.
I understood what you say. Apparently accusing people in not having English as a first language is a usual thing to say when you don't know what else to say and how else to insult. Surprise. It is. I was born and grew up in London. And btw the joke is made by intonation when it's not a clear joke, so without hearing it it's usually hard to get it. But you are too keen on seeming to be cool.
"And the author of tweeter doesnt necessary can recognise this two." English as she is spoke!
(Putting on my best Couch Potato voice):
Please just don't engage with Lex/firenbrenie/JDunn/whoever she is posting as today. Just not worth it.
Onto things that actually matter: thinking long and hard about everyone in Paris and Beirut this week. Those of us in safe, comfortable existences are unbelievably lucky.
Perspective.
Peace.
Good morning?
Yikes. I'm going to need a second cup of coffee.
First - I put my hand up. I caused this, so I apologize. I still have on my twitter app a column dedicated to tweets that feature the words Hiddleston and Olsen. My first mistake was checking it in the middle of a boring social event. My second - and biggest mistake - was posting the tweet here.
I had forgotten about lurkers and their inability to interact nicely on social media.
I'll remember our lurkers and their neuroses in the future.
She does seem in the know about things Marvel and thus would recognize EO from her Avengers role. Especially since EO and BL look significantly different.
But who knows? During my first week in the TH fandom, I mistook JJ Feild for TH and thought TH was married to Neve Campbell for a good month or so!
As for TH and EO. The sighting could be real. Hawaii seems like a very EO-type of destination for a mid-November getaway - I mean it's almost like 60F in LA now, brrrrrr. And five hours in first class - that's nothing.
They could be hanging out as just friends or friends with benefits, or even FBs - but they are - as they themselves said and others on this board agree - probably not 'dating' in the conventional sense.
As for Americans and British - both of which mix nicely on this board - I certainly don't let the opinions or the grammar of one person dictate my perceptions of either country in The Special Relationship.
I know that not all Britons think that Americans don't care.
And I know that the poor language skills and fanatical views of one Briton are not a blanket condemnation of 1) the British education system or 2) the mental well-being of the British nation.
I should add...
That it would really strengthen The Special Relationship if TH were to date and marry an American lass.
It can be me - I'll take that hit for the team. But it can also be one of the other 70 odd million American gals of marriageable age...even EO.
Finally, as a bit a levity:
Last night, when my boy angrily asked what was so urgent as I was typing furiously on my phone, I said, 'A friend is having relationship problems.'
I don't think it was a lie.
Well Sorry ladies but Charlie Gray who interviewed Tom said very clearly - Tom is sinhle, he doesn't have a lady by his side. And he was one of the last interviewers. So give up, gossip lovers.
I asked a person who knows everything that is going on in Hawaii and he told me there was no news about Olsen arriving - he would know. So again, your Twitter thing was a LIE. Get over it.
And don't worry, Tom won't marry an Ameican. You will be able to check it very soon.
He will marry a Lithuanian!! I.e. ME! Wahhahahahaa
Sorry for the outburst. I will go take those reality pills now.
Actually, I feel like I'm almost off the TH train now and it's almost sad. Anyway, I still like him as an actor, I'm waiting for High-Rise and hope they will screen it in LT.
Although if he's actually with EO that would be epic, lol.
>>317 Anon., I hope you don't think I was calling someone out or making fun of them for being uneducated, having poor language skills etc. I would never do that.
When Lex first showed up round here I took a peek at her Twitter and saw that she said she lived and worked in Tblisi - that, and the way she wrote English, led me to conclude that she was not a native speaker. I put this forward today as an I hope more charitable explanation for some of the misunderstandings which have led her into several spats on this board. She now tells us she is a native English speaker. I don't believe implicitly everything I am told by strangers on the Internet, especially strangers who kick around under so many aliases. I am afraid I retain my own view about this, but I apologise if my disbelieving comment at >>312 came across as unnecessarily mean.
I could get behind a TH-Qaz Anglo-Lithuanian pairing. It's a NATO country, so it's fine with me. Up the Lithuanians!!
I personally think he should marry Katy Perry or Rooney Mara - because then any children would essentially be TH clones...freakish, little TH clones.
Oh, you weren't - I was calling her out, specifically for her crazy posts, not her English skills.
Personally, I have my doubts about her claim to being born and raised in an English speaking country. Her grammar mistakes suggest that English is her second language. But I will say that her English is very good if it is a second language.
I post on an Italian film board. My Italian - spoken and written - is crap. I'm sure my posts sometime seem like they've been written by a monkey. They're especially bad when I post quickly and don't take the time to think about grammar and look up spellings.
I think Lex does the same thing. She gets overly excited about a topic and her language comes in second to her emotions. She needs to tone down the crazy, not improve her language skills.
And, I've always been a 'supporter' of Lex. She pops in to call EO a slut, call us stupid and suggest that TH will soon declare his love for some unknown woman (usually she implies it's her), and then she goes back to lurker mode. It's a fairly consistent and relatively harmless MO, and, in my opinion, what boards like this are for.
In proper TH news...yes, that still exists.
From twitter, so barking border collie and all that, but I think it has been confirmed that they are going to Vietnam, so this cave as a shooting location doesn't seem too out of the realm of possibility.
>>323 I could get behind a sassy Anon.-TH pairing, so if you take that hit for the team, I'm all for it. The RCs would be entertaining.
Off topic: considering the recent political developments, I'm glad that we're in the NATO. There are various opinions of course, but I, for once, am glad. And I think the majority of the population are also.
>>323>>326 Well I am married, so I have no problem with you two duking it out over him. Unless I divorce, in which case he'd be "not bad for a second husband," as I recently heard an old aristocratic cove say!
>>324 As to our resident lurker under the bridge: I don't really care if she comes here occasionally, calls us all loopy fan girls, EO a whore, and tells us in thinly veiled terms that she will be Mrs Thomas W Hiddleston before too long. We're all here on an anonymous fan board, and it goes with the turf. I do object to her vacuuming up things she finds here and then hunting down innocent Twitter users to shower them with vitriol because they innocently and totally legitimately posted what they thought they saw. That's way over the line. Still, there will be a lot for the best man to read out during his speech when she marries TH!
PS I always thought Helena Bonham Carter. They have adjoining houses which we know HBC likes, and they can do that curly haired English eccentric dressed in the dark thing together. And all their babies would look like him but have her colouring, ie little miniLokis. Perfection!!
Sassy Anon. actually has an engagement ring on her finger, so some other lucky girl will need to take one for the team.
He will be spending a lot of time in Australia...so step up, unknown Aussie sheila.
I could see him with an Aussie - both tall, both sporty, matching surf boards and all that.
Agreed. Which is why I hold my hand up for mentioning the tweet. As they say, mustn't feed the trolls. I failed in that respect.
Do you think we'll get invites? I love a good, old-fashioned British wedding. I've already got my hat picked out.
Yes!!!! HBC - whose initials perfectly and appropriately also stand for Head Bitch in Charge - could both match his zany Britishness and also put him in his place when needed.
He would make a fine second husband. He seems the sort that needs a woman who has been in long term relationships and dealt with those universal male tendencies. A novice might get fed up and leave him!
>>330 I bet he'd be a right handful. He is 35 and hasn't been in a long term acknowledged relationship since whenever he was with Sursannah Fielding (was it 2011?). Plus he is showing signs of old-git-dom such as retaining The Boots and wearing the same shirt every other day. And I guess that his house is a total man cave - he's said in interviews that his study is a tip and that his mum does his laundry!!! Imagine a woman coming in with Diptyque candles, telling him to change his sheets weekly and throwing away the dirty white converse shoes. He'd totally freak out.
Yes, to all. But I also think his time at boarding school would make him somewhat malleable, especially for a HBC-type.
If matron tells you to do something, you do it! Especially if matron has a ruler in her hand...and she knows how to use it.
This is just outrageous. So no fair maiden on this board is to claim TH's heart?
Well, qaz, unfortunately, in real life has a wedding band on her finger. Sorry, TH, you totally have a competition. I know, I know, you won't be able to sleep this night.
I would so ship him with HBC.
>>333 Golly how interesting! I knew that he was catnip to emo/goth/fangirls, but I hadn't anticipated the married women brigade for some reason. A friend of mine went to Nuffield and said she was the only woman in her 30s pretty much. They were either 20 or 60.
Well, I guess if nobody else wants him...
...I'll just have to volunteer.
It doesn't look like my boy is going to ask for the ring back - even after my rude phone use yesterday - so, he's all yours, anonsy.
You will need a ruler. What else would a brave woman need to take on TH...and his fans? Rhinoceros skin, being hard of hearing would help (fans and TH), a rock solid love for Willy Shake, unending patience and tolerance (fans and TH), boot maintenance kit?
>>338 if the boots are maintained it will be the first time ever.
What else? Knitting needles, to knit ties, cardigans, jackets etc while sitting by the fire listening to Tales from Shakespeare; tea bags; a can of Luke Windsor repellent.
I just couldn't resist sharing with you!
Does anything look familiar? Have they all taken a class? Is it in the genes?
I know it's childish, but I so want another pap night! The speculation, the over-the-top examination of minutiae, the madness!
The paps in Hawaii are really letting the team down. Maybe they'll be some of her at LAX...with a hickey on her neck. Oooooh, busted.
>>341 Hahahaha! I love in particular the family hubris that they are so much more famous and interesting to paparazzi than they in fact are.
Yeah, what's going on with the paps in Hawaii? Tumblr has got a hold of deleteatweet but nobody has produced another sighting even the guy who has been tweeting most of the shoot info.
Get ye to Hawaii, anonsy!!
You seem like the sort who could easily knock any competitor out of contention.
Here's the thing about those DM pics and video: I think AO and Bob Saget play it RIGHT.
Sure, she acts a bit of a tit, but they get to the car quickly, she doesn't strike up a convo with a gate, he smiles at the paps - and then once they're in the car, it's all smiles and laughter.
Yes, TH and EO need to take lessons from AO and Bob Saget - I repeat, Bob Saget - on PR and pap interaction.
What is this world?

A very short snippet of RC talking about mentoring TH for ISTL.
https://twitter. com/dlcrms/status/666715948238413825
A tweet that shows a pic of TH's back and absolute peach of an arse - it is nice in this pic. And it calls CP, Haunted Peak? Was that its working title?
In other, slightly depressing, twitter news:
A few (silver lining?) people are tweeting TH about the sighting in HI...and are @ing tabloid papers (DM, Heat, etc.) and Celebitchy in the tweets. They are - no surprise - accusing him of lying.
A few are still trying to get info out of the original tweeter.
Really, that's how we're going to play it, fandom?
Here's the more accessible instagram post of the Haunted Arse (as I'm calling it) pic.
And yeah, anonsy, throw your bikini and a man trap into an overnight bag and get down there. When they pap you put the overnight bag on your head so we know it's you!
