You will be a fine Zuckerberg's servant
i think you have that backwards
I use a desktop, but I don't think I'd qualify as a neckbeard.
Cuteness comes from within.
>>383
The ((())) thing is a racist dog whistle used to imply that someone or something is jewish (but it's used in a negative way). Don't pretend that it's something else. And the other post mentioned desktop computers.
That's not projection, that's reading comprehension.
How very (((redpilled))) of you.
basically we are saudi people

would you donate your kidney to Roman Abramovich? I think you do
When you're on an online conversation, and you call someone a stupid fucking retard, it's hilarious when they respond by pointing out your "ad-hominem". You're, like, not even denying that you're a fucking retard, just pointing out that it's just a bit of a tangent there. Practically a tacit admission.
I blame liberalism and Paul Graham that our youth is so obsessed with pointing out fallacies online.
>>410
I disagree. I actually see more people committing logical fallacies and not as many people pointing them out. The average person would say something like "fuck you" or "google it" or "I'm not even going to explain it to you" or something like that. They're not even going to bother with pointing out ad hominem or other fallacies. You seem to forget that most people are dumb and mobile devices and apps are easier to use than ever before. The level of discourse online is getting worse every year.
It sucks when you know something but someone feels the need to explain it to you anyway. Sometimes it's kinda awkward to say "look, I already know what you're explaining, please stop" so you just say "yeah" and "ok" while they painstakingly explain something you already know, and they're talking down to you the whole time as if YOU'RE the dumb one.
>>406 Huh, I've never heard of that brackets thing before, I read it like he was being sarcastic, the stereotypical venture capitalist boss who doesn't really understand the work he pays his employees do.
>>410 Calling someone a "stupid fucking retard" is more of an indication of your own low intelligence, but yes, it's hilarious when someone assumes you're worth talking to only to be proven wrong. Have you ever had a girlfriend, by the way? Did you ever argue with her?
>>413
Personally I never even heard of it until a lot of Twitter bluechecks started using it ironically on their own names. And now I quite often see normies use it without understanding what it signifies, ironically or not.
I am also not a fan of even the concept of a "dog whistle", fwiw.
>>414
Yes, but what does that have to do with anything? Are you getting posts mixed up?
>>415
Wow, you're not a fan of something! Reality will bend to your every whim and preference.
Guess what? Things still exist even if you don't like them. Dog whistles are a real thing. It's the whole "aha, you can't accuse me of racism as long as I don't say overtly racist things! I'll just make up new racist slang and indicators to show my hatred! then you can't call it racist!"
What a bunch of bullshit. ((())) is antisemitic and you know it.
I think posting on this website is making me dumber. Interacting with neckbeards is bad.
Nah it's just the condescending fuckwits who just want somewhere to feel better about themselves
>>416 It's easy to turn to childish namecalling when arguing with strangers online, I just wondered if that's how you'd treat your sweetie-pie when she gives you the red nonsense.
Four hundred twenty blaze it
I just misread condescending as crossdressing.
>>416 Are you so fucking retarded that you don't even see the much more dangerous other side of your statement, which is "you can be racist without actually saying or doing anything racist, because the tone police have decided your words had a racist intent."
>>417 You were already dumb, if anything leaving the ideological circlejerk of your upper middle class Silicon Valley BYOD open office once in a while and learning how to view dissenting opinions without immediately deciding the other side is guilty of wrongthink and shutting your eyes while chanting thought-terminating cliches might do you some good.
I wasn't going to engage this dumbassery but I can't resist any longer. I'm sick of abiding reactionary neoliberal dipshits masquerading as leftists.
If you're an actual leftist and not just a limousine liberal paying lip service to the "inclusionary" ideological zeitgeist so you don't lose your comfy BYOD open office Silicon Valley tech job then ignoring the Jews is dangerous self-deception. The Jews are one of the greatest enemies of international class solidarity out there. No other group spends more time and money lobbying for unrestricted immigration, open borders, busting unions, importing low-skill workers willing to work for next to nothing, all in the name of enriching themselves while further dividing the proletariat along racial lines, suppressing class consciousness. Certainly 100% of Jews aren't such rootless cosmopolitans, but a disproportionate amount of international capitalists are Jews; pretending otherwise is ignoring an uncomfortable truth in the hope it'll eventually just go away.
At some point the "left", once the champions of the working class, figured out they could continue paying lip service to the working class and using their votes to stay in power while in actuality having policy that differs little from the other puppets of international capital who enrich themselves at the expense of the proletariat. Insincere neoliberal ideologues spout charming but meaningless platitudes about how maximum diversity is on the horizon (if this sounds familiar it should) and then wonder why their support is eroding among the working class they used to champion. The brand of condescending proselytizing becoming increasingly popular among the "left" is also annoying at best and dangerous at worst. At best, you make an obscure yellow fever anime messageboard that's already been dying a slow death since 2009 slightly shittier. At worst, you actively convert the working class away from their own best interest and toward right-wing populism when they rightfully bristle at your inept lecturing and mother-knows-best attitude and purposely go looking for "whatever the opposite of what that guy says."

Better writeup on the subject than I'm capable of, and considering it was written in 1992, long before the rise of internet echo chambers, somewhat prohpetic.
>>426 sorry, I'm done now.
I mean I'm not done being a dumbass, I'm just done posting about it.
>>419
Are you seriously getting mad that I'm calling someone out for being antisemitic? You're just trying to change the subject. ((())) is an antisemitic dog whistle. Quit trying to change the subject.
>>422
((())) serves no purpose other than to mean "I think this person is Jewish" and it's used in a negative context. It's ridiculous that there are people who justify this. Sometimes, people use it in their Twitter name to show that they're an enemy of alt-right racists, but that's the only time when it's not racist. But in this thread, it has been used in a racist manner.
You have no self-awareness.
>>423
Yeah, I'M the one in an echo chamber. Not the people who are trying to normalize antisemitism. Okay.
>>424
I wouldn't even describe myself as a leftist. Do you think anyone who disagrees with you is a leftist? You know who's the biggest supporter of Israel? It's certainly not the democrats. Leftists tend to be in favor of Palestine/Gaza rather than Israel. Leftists are often antisemitic, which is funny considering that they pretend to be the party of tolerance and progress.
I really shouldn't even be responding to someone who is unironically racist, but here's what I have to say about these conspiracy theories about Jews:
The flaw with a lot of alt-right conspiracies is that they assume all power is completely consolidated in the world. It's true that there are a lot of rich and powerful people. But there are actually quite a lot of billionaires now, and new ones are popping up a lot now, especially in America and some developing countries (lots of income inequality now). But the fundamental flaw in alt-right thinking is that you think all rich and powerful people are having clandestine meetings and getting along and making plans together. In reality, there are many different ideologies among the elite and they don't always get along. Not all rich people get along.
You want a simple and easy explanation for complicated issues. It's intellectually lazy to tell yourself that Jews are behind everything. In reality, Jewish people are just like everyone else. I have Jewish friends and I've even dated a Jewish girl before. The real problems in society are with extremely rich and powerful people. There are rich and powerful people from all different backgrounds, and guess what? They don't all get along, don't all have the same religion, and aren't all from the same place in the world.
You get confused with confirmation bias because some shitty /pol/ images pick and choose a few Jewish people but ignore all of the non-Jewish people who are also global elites who serve their own best interests.
Billionaires are powerful and control the media. But not all billionaires are Jewish, and not all billionaires get along. There is no global conspiracy. Occam's Razor and all that. Peter Thiel isn't Jewish. Dr. Dre isn't Jewish. Bill Gates isn't Jewish. Xi Jinping isn't Jewish. Putin isn't Jewish. I could go on and on. There are plenty of people who are absurdly rich and/or powerful who have nothing to do with Judaism.
At the end of the day, people want to be happy. Money can help with that. People want to be powerful. Money can get you power. Powerful people can buy politicians or media outlets. But there is no single person or single group that controls everything. Instead, there are a lot of powerful rich people who control different portions of the media or politics.
But I bet you're not open to listening to ideas that don't back up your preconceived notions. You're either going to ignore me or just double down on your incorrect views.
And to further clarify: I am not Jewish, I am not antisemitic, I am not a social justice warrior, I am not a leftist, and I am not alt-right. I'm not a centrist or a neocon either. It's almost as if there are more stances than that, and not all opinions can be summed up in some twitter bio-sized label!
I wonder what tokiko thinks about it.
Ohh, like straight-edge kids putting x's around their name?
>>414
I admit that fucking retard is a bit of a hyperbole meant to rile up, but even I know that you wouldn't point out your girlfriend's ad hominems in any discussion, because that's fucking retarded.
> You know who's the biggest supporter of Israel? It's certainly not the democrats. Leftists tend to be in favor of Palestine/Gaza rather than Israel. Leftists are often antisemitic

What I meant to ask is how covering a cover song even works. Who receives payment for such a thing. Also how frequent is that? I mean I know there's jazz standards and stuff, but like in pop and rock music, is there such an effort to further transform songs into unrecognition?
>>437
I used to know someone in a cover band. I don't think they ever gave royalties to the real band. But then again, they were only a local gig and didn't get really famous or anything.
I think Chuck Klosterman had an interesting perspective on cover bands in "Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs" where he said that people do that to piggyback off the fame of the real band and they don't care that they're nobodies who will never make a name for themselves.
Not all cover bands attempt to change the source material. Sometimes, they just try their best to recreate it. I've never heard of a cover song of a cover song, but maybe people who cover Weird Al songs count for that?
>>428 How much are they paying you? It's like you're a bot and just dumping pre-fabricated talking points after running over certain keywords.
http://4-ch.net/dqn/kareha.pl/1135263177/143 this post is a bannable offence!
>>439
Yeah, I'm being paid to post on a site that has like 5-10 users.
Seriously, get a grip on reality if you resort to such insane mental gymnastics.
Imagine being so far gone that you think anyone who disagrees with you is a bot. Sad.

That was only a year ago!
And I'm not trying to restart anything, but haven't you heard of Usenet? It was basically entirely echo chambers.
>>454
Were you even around for Usenet? It's either before your time, or you're a dinosaur.
>>455
Odd question. It's still going strong, in the forms of Google Groups and NZB.
Plus, The Eternal September started on Usenet, and it's still September, 1993.
>>441,442
Imagine being such a dumbass fucking American teenbro that you:
a)dump a completely irrelevant barely coherent script of prefab talking points bullet-for-bullet after seeing the word "jews" and "leftist" in the same post with zero regard for context;
b)are completely incapable of considering things outside the lens of American politics and think useless labels like "Democrat" have any meaning outside America.
But I'm so sure your alt right /pol/ boogeyman is super concerned about workers' liberation and international class consciousness, you dumb illiterate motherfucker. Words have actual meanings, they don't just mean "people I don't like."
Although in this case "alt-right" literally has no meaning because it was coined to begin with to mean "people I don't like who also watch anime" or some shit.
>>457
You are still attempting to justify the fact that someone (you?) used blatantly antisemitic dog whistling. ((())) is antisemitic, there's no getting around it. You seem upset when people call you out on your shit.
The whole parenthesis bullshit was ironically amplified by idiot reporters, the same idiot reporters who take selfies with richard spencer because they "believe in balance and courtesy" and ignore palestines being murdered by the dozen because who cares. It was a signifier limited to a small clique of pseudo-vanguard internet cryptofascists which have fallen from grace ever since trump distanced himself from "sloppy steve"[sic] and were eventually brought back to their rightful place as internet losers drawing pictures of fat frogs on paint.
No one cares, kike lover
>>459 I'm not justifying anything, you're just such a low IQ corn(syrup)-fed American teenbro that you still think someone who literally says "the Jews are an enemy of the international workers" is 'alt-right'. Like, do Americans think actual anarchists are right wing now? I guess you're too used to the tribalistic circus show of labels of American politics and if I don't spell out my closest -ism in giant flashing fucking neon letters then you won't understand.
It's not anti-semitic to make the objectively true observation that Jews hold a disproportionate amount of wealth and power compared to their global population size, neither is it anti-semitic to be against Israeli settler colonization. In fact I'd say that's pro-semitic, since Palestinian Arabs are semites too and Israel literally locks them in concentration camps and blockades them to prevent any kind of food or aid or medicine from reaching them. I really don't care if you were triggered by punctuation marks, or about whatever buzzword you just learned on neoliberal twitter this morning.
hey, russia is dying and it's likely a civil war starting in ukraine, what else can you hope for, my nazi friend?

I spent half an hour trying to help my baby boomer relative turn their laptop on and type their password in so they could log in, but every single time I gave a simple instruction they managed to mess it up. By the end, they didn't manage to do it. They just gave up and got mad at me. As if I'm to blame for their tech-illiteracy.
Things like "press the power button" and "type your password" and "is the computer turned on already?" and "what's on the screen?" are apparently rocket science to old people. I'm not even kidding. That's what I was trying to help him do, and he COULD NOT DO IT. I explained things many different ways, but he just couldn't figure it out. And he blamed ME.
This is a dude with a master's degree from a prestigious university and he can't even fucking press a power button without great difficulty. Typing a password is also apparently frustrating and difficult for him.
Holy fucking shit. Like, he's not a complete moron in all aspects of life. He's a fucking genius in some areas related to his job, but why is he so bad with technology?
I was giving the help over the phone, by the way. Not in person.

No, dysphoria induced. I wasn't aware anxiety even could induce dissociation.
Johnny 2 dicks is at it again.
>>479
What kind of dysphoria? I have experienced dysphoria before. But when I googled it, the top results are all for gender dysphoria, which is not what I had.
Anxiety and/or panic can indeed induce dissociation.
>>481
Yeah, gender dysphoria. It's pretty awful, I wouldn't recommend it.
>>468 It should be a nice place, but it's actually a bloody place. I've gotten used to the tense atmosphere, and it's quite a thrill knowing that two guys in the current thought thread could start a spirited debate at any moment... women and children better steer clear!
>>482
I didn't know dysphoria induced dissociation.
I've gotten anxiety induced dissociation. NOT fun, I could easily have killed myself.
>>474
As you get older, it gets more difficult to learn new things. It can be frustrating. And whatever age you are, it's easy to vent frustration on anything, even someone or something that is not the cause of your frustration.
>>485 If I ever get so old that I can't "learn" how to read some text off a box on a screen and tell someone what it says then fucking take me out behind the shed and shoot me. This is far, far beyond normal "technological incompetence" this is either willful ignorance or actual brain disease.
People have been taught how to fucken land planes over the phone and you telling me this nigga couldnt even figure out how to press the power button on his laptop?
Obviously I have no idea what actually happened, which is why I'm giving the guy the benefit of the doubt. There's clearly no need for you to be such an arse about it.
Think about it though, I'm not just learning how to turn my laptop on and read out the contents of a text box. I'm learning the whole interface of a laptop computer, potentially a completely alien concept and setting, trying to get myself to remember all this stuff, trying to figure out and internalize the connections between all of the inputs and outputs of this machine, and thinking about the actual impending task I have to do once I've figured out how to unlock the damn thing, probably on some sort of deadline. All while being hyper-aware of this person younger than me becoming increasingly irritated that I'm not able to carry out this task that they think a chimp could do.
>>487
He spent a lot of the time panicking and getting confused and also making defense comments (trying to justify why he couldn't do it, or trying to blame the computer instead of his incompetence). He seemed partly embarrassed or something that he didn't know how to follow my directions so I think he was channeling his brain power into coming up with excuses why he couldn't do it instead of concentrating on the task at hand.
I think he suffers from an "expert" mindset. He is so old and has had a lot of job experience where people see him as a well-educated person, so he has convinced himself that he doesn't need to learn new things, and it can make someone feel vulnerable or dumb to admit that there's something they don't know how to do well, especially if they consider themselves to be really good in other aspects of their lives. So when he had to admit that he didn't understand very basic computer concepts, I think he was less interested in learning it and instead getting more emotional and concentrating on the debate and "face" aspect of the conversation.
I could be wrong though.
Empathy helps all
Entropy kills all
>>483
Should be a nice place? What is this, a tumblr safe space?
It's better to have your views challenged instead of getting soft by being in a bubble with people who don't encourage you to think critically.
If you never debate your beliefs, you'll get bad at defending them.
>>484
Gender dysphoria and dissociative disorders, particularly depersonalisation, are often comorbid.
