これは、さきほど書いた In Deep の記事の中村天風の言葉でわかったということは正直に書かなければならないですが、「私という人間がパニック障害という”恐怖”を伴う病気にならなくてはいけなかった」という、その理由なのですが・・・。
私がパニック障害になったのは 21歳の時でした。
しかし、実は、私は小さな頃から、それこそ記憶が始まる３歳とかの頃から、
「根源的な恐怖」
を持っていた人間でした。
今でも思い出します。
意味のないことに脅える幼児だったんです。
「根源的」というのは、「理由のない恐怖」です。
つまり、生まれついてから「意味のわからない恐怖を持っている」ということです。
これをスピリチュアル系の方々などに言わせれば、前世とか、因果律とか、いろいろな言葉も出て来るのかもしれないですし、医学ならまた何かの定義があるかもしれないですが、理由や定義はどうでもいいのです。
とにかくそれがある。
根源的な恐怖を持ちながら、子ども時代を過ごし、老年期に入る現在に至っている。
そして、中村天風はこのように述べています。
心の安定を失うことの中で、一番戒むべきものは恐怖観念である。そもこの恐怖なるものこそは、価値なき消極的の考え方で描いているシミだらけな醜い一つの絵のようなものだ。
つまり、「恐怖という概念は問答無用に悪である」ということです。
上の天風の言葉で、ふとさとりました。
「オレの恐怖は外に露出させなければいけなかったんだ」
ということをです。
「じゃないと、悪と対峙できない」
いろいろと理由はあるにしても、自分が神経症やパニック障害になった根本的な理由は、自分の中に「根源的な恐怖がある」からだとは思います。
そして、理由や因果はわからないけれども、その「根源的な恐怖」は生まれた時からずっと私の中にあった。
私がパニック障害などにならず、穏便なメンタルライフを過ごしていたとしましょう。
その場合は、人生として最悪である、
「私は私の中の根源的な恐怖と現実として向きあうことがなかった」
という状態のまま曖昧な人生を送るだけだったと思われます。
パニック障害になったからこそ、その「悪魔」である根源的な恐怖が「実際の姿となって自分の前に現れた」のです。つまり、自分が障害を持ったということは「自分の中の根源的な恐怖と対峙させてくれた」という意味では、大変に重要な出来事だったわけです。
それを私は、二十代の時からベンゾジアゼピン系の薬とお酒で、悪魔の正体を隠し続けていた。
せっかく何者かが悪魔を出現させてくれたのに、その機会を生かさなかった。
でも、今やっとわかります。
根源的な恐怖、すなわち自分が生まれた時から持ち続けた「自分の中の悪魔」と対決できる時が来ているのかもしれないと。
