Thread to talk about actor Tom Hiddleston.
hahaha I love Mark Gatiss.

>>952 He is now the only person in Britain who doesn't!
Speaking of Taylor Swift and her charity, I found this one interesting http://www.people.com/people/mobile/article/0,,20919466,00.html
Particularly, this part right here:
Beazley's mother said that her daughter's new pal did most of the talking during the phone call Tuesday, telling Beazley how much it meant to her that her music helped the 12-year-old get through painful treatments.
I don't know if it's because the little girl had trouble talking because of the treatments or if she became shy but it was interesting. Poor child passed away soon after because of how aggressive her cancer was.
There's another Taylor Swift charity act I hear about a lot and that's the one where she helped pay off a fan's student loans. I looked it up. She sent her a check for $1989 to help with her loans. 1989. The title of her new album she was promoting at the time. I mean...really? http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/6467292.html
I understand celebrities giving up their time for charity is noble and it can help people aspire to be better human beings but there are some celebrities where you can tell it's more about them than those they are helping. Then again I've always had the same issue with Tom and his charity related works. Though he's toned down the self importance since Guinea.
TOD is reincarnated as todspeaks
Theoanons is back. :)
I don't have a tumbl account and I only started following Tom's careers recently, so all this drama between fans is a bit confusing. I also don't know who is this Victoria and other women named so often is these tumble wars. Should I want to know? Is it important to understand what's going on?
Also, I'm glad my leg is getting better and I'll be back to work in a few days which means less time to follow this Hiddleswift nonsense (thank God!).
>>958 From what I remember Shaitana/ Victoria was an unhinged fan obsessed with Tom and spent hours analyzing him and his pictures and his facial scars etc etc. She hated all his gfs, I mean HATED. Shaitana/ Victoria herself was catfished by someone on Tumblr and thought she was talking to THE Tom Hiddleston over phone and Skype chats. No video of course. All voice and text. I guess the Tom impersonator told her some unsavory things about Tom like he manipulates emotionally weak women, he cheats on every gf, alcohol and substance abuse, sleeps with his fans, etc etc. There was something in there about knocking up some girl in LA during his Thor days and how she's his only one true love. Lotta weird stuff.
After that Victoria told anyone who'd listen that Tom himself told her he was this way. I don't know exactly how she went about making ppl believe that or how she catfished the Astro lady though.
Victoria/Shatania is a woman who claimed to have had an online relationship with TH, but apparently was catfished by some other fans (no idea who). V/S spread all kinds of info about TH to a number of blogs including thetownbycycle, and also set up a bunch of sockpuppet accounts to continue spreading information about him and other fans she was feuding with.
>>959 That's insane! People really believe he would call or skype some fans AND tell them compromising things about himself?
This Apple theory makes sense.
>>958 she also used MissThing as username at CB. If you wade thorugh CB's posts around Oct/Nov 2013 you'll find a few posts, where she posted this secret information she had (if you want to get an idea of what she wrote about him).
You are right, who would believe such baseless information and fall for such a preposterous story? Probably the same people who believed beanup, the obsessive women like that zhorasomething.
The problem is that overtime she became the perfect excuse for bullism. A blog says something that you disagree with, let's say she is shaitana so we can insult her.
>>962 That thing with Apple is one of the few things I knew about her and I knew it was fake the moment it happened. There was absolutely no need for a public letter and if Steve Jobs had been alive she would never have dared to make a post like that.
The rest, pretty much confirmed what I think about her. No matter the reasons behind TH's choice for this, I will forever side eye him for it.
Tom retweets!
What he retweets is an article about social media disrupting the truth: https://mobile.
twitter.
com/twhiddleston/status/753155188542742528?s=09
That's a bit meta.
PS it's from the guardian so my guess is he has seen every article it has published about him recently.
>>965 Just going to sit back and enjoy the over analysis and interpretation from both factions now. Watch as they both twist it to fit their theories.
Sorry but the gentleman doth protest too much.
If Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt can have a "private" public relationship without staged photo ops, so can Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift.
Then again, Brad was already a massive star and didn't need the extra publicity.
I hope for both their sakes, that Tom and Taylor (assuming that their sentiments ARE real) manage to dampen down on the photoops and the PR crap - any talk of "privacy" and "work being paramount" rings spectacularly hollow at this point... and I write as someone who genuinely appreciated Tom's non-Thor related work.
>>967 Do you remember the "please love me" Facebook post after Pursegate?
I fear that he is not above using social media to comment indirectly on his personal life, and that this is indeed intended as a comment on how social media has said his relationship is fake. Spare me the irony of (a) using a third party's Instagram to disseminate a manufactured image of your relationship; (b) refusing to speak to the media directly concerning your relationship, thereby perpetuating any disruption to the truth that may be going on; and (c) then using social media again to comment in the most passive-aggressive manner possible.
Even if he isn't, and the subject matter of this first tweet for nearly a month is a total coincidence and not intended as a comment on his relationship, it strikes me as a tad lacking in self-awareness to criticise social media when you are in bed with social media.
>>969 Yes, yes and YES! The hypocrisy is staggering. He's either being weirdly delusional or calculatingly manipulative. delete as appropriate depending on your mood, hormones, level of caffeination, sense of investment. Yadda, yadda, yadda
This whole thing is curiouser by the day. I sense a frantic scrabbling for control of the narrative here. What do you think?
Seneca #2
What a colossal second-handed meta- whinge.
Playing the victimisation card like someone else we know...
Just saw Tom's tweet and knew there would be good discussion over here. :)
The Guardian article's commentary on "clickbait journalism" is relevant to a lot of the gossip sites that are publishing headlines like "Tom and Taylor already talking marriage and family! She thinks he'll be a great dad!" compete with plenty of unverified "sources" (also mentioned in the Guardian piece).
>>969 Maybe it's some sort of cry for help. "I know we were canoodling on Instagram, but please stop reposting the photos! It's not what it looks like!" All joking aside, I do think it's important to note that the "real" media has been just as skeptical as social media regarding the legitimacy of this relationship, if not moreso. Plus there's a large number of Swifties and Hiddlestoners all over Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr who are already planning the TayTo wedding and making face-morphs of what their future children will look like (yes, this happened), so it's not like the response has been one-sided in favor of PR stunt. Tom is surely aware of all this, so if his intention is to criticize the denial of Hiddleswift on social media, well then he's really lost it.
What a fucking bunch of nutters: http://booksandcatslover.tumblr.com/post/147336506886/amjjones-zhora-salome
If you can't be bothered to pollute your eyes, the party line is that this is a brilliant effort on Tom's part to call us out, and anyone who says otherwise is in denial about the relationship in the manner of Cumberbatch baby doubters.
Actual comments from tumblr right now:
"The article is excellent read to everyone atm. I believe he is sending us a message rn"
"Yes. Isn’t it awesome? Making a comment without making a comment."
"Tom basically just called out the media in the classiest way ever."
"Not just the media. Social media as well. And most of all his own fans. Or those that still insist on calling themselves that. "

Isn't this the French anal sucker that shares follicles with TH?
>>969 Yes, you are quite right, let's say he was referring to how social media were complicit in swaying votes for Brexit, considering his personal/PR situation right now, he could have been more precise.
But I think we said in the previous thread that he would play the victim part because he has a tendency to be passive aggressive, we are just missing the puppy eyes.
It's like a loophole, the more he strives to indirectly insist that this is real, the more fake it is. Catch22.
>>978 You're on fire today Anonon.
I wish you were doing the makeup on Thor 3. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when TayTay shows up on set.
>>975 >>976 I resent being aligned with baby doubters. Surely that is the point. I will avoid tumblr for a while longer which is not hard atm- it has become a fanatical party line now that all the level- headed sceptics have been silenced.
>>974 I very much doubt TH has been bothered by fervent shippers. What would sting is the blatant and public mockery from both respected peers and publications, calling into line his integrity.
He is still blindsighted to his own part in this pantomime it would seem and far too quick to blame the media for not sticking to his preferred narrative. Yes, some ludicrous theories have surfaced which could have been laughed off if he hadn't orchestrated/ willingly colluded in the worlds greatest and most blatant public love parade
>>984 It's the classic rhetorical pose of claiming that your enemy is saying something different, and usually much more implausible, than they are actually saying. You then respond to that non-existent argument.
People aren't saying that he posted this and he is thereby showing us his relationship doesn't exist. That's the argument the loons are responding to, hence calling us all Cumberbaby doubters.
People are saying something much simpler: don't get in bed with Satan and complain your toes got hot.
>>984 exactly, it's not the comments on gossip websites, or tumblr that are annoying to him, it's the serious press slashing him. But instead of doing a mea culpa he accuses them of being shallow. A man who wore a I<3TS tantop.
This is why I don't believe there is a single piece of genuine feeling. He might like her the way he likes collegues he works with (Natalie Portman though, not Jessica Chastain), but not a gf. He is too self-aware and not enough joyful and gushing.
I still hope Phillip Schofield was right and this is a ruse.
The gifs people are posting in reply to this RT are hilarious!
>>982 It's for the best I'm not working on Thor 3. Aside from the fact I have just been offered a much better job I would have found it impossible to contain my mirth and 'accidentally' poke him in the eye with a brush.
>>983 Makes you wonder if the author, Kath Viner, is horrified to have her article aligned with TH and his love parade
>>985 I've always had hot toes and an affiliation with Satan.
I feel like his mother isn't playing her part so I will do it for her; man up, own your shit, grow a pair and quit your whingeing Thomas!
>>988 hahaha maybe she'll do another article talking about how celebs manipulate social media.
I hope he knows that not matters what he tweets/RT, his theatre cred is gone, he will never go back to be a beloved of the critics as he was before.
>>990 his RT of that article
Oh halp

>>992 Sorry - was only looking at the replies on his page, the retweets are great!
>>995 I just looked at the list of tweets mentioning TH.
>>997 I was just about to post that. They made the cover too, hmm. Surely she's up the duff
Ok, I've read the whole article and I stick to my first comment, since the article is part Brexit part social media and news, he should have been more precise, or not RT it. This way he comes off as a complete hypocrite. Again.
It's funny though that his stans and nannies are the one that immediately made it about his personal life. It never occurred to them he might be referring to something more serious.
When I saw his retweet, I couldn't decide if he was really that obtuse or whether he believes his fans are that obtuse. Then I read the comments on tumblr...
I bet he was pretty confident the negativity and doubts about the relationship would die out but now he sees that majority refuses to buy the happy couple narrative, he's going to be passive aggressive and misquote intelligent think pieces to fit his agenda. I refuse to believe Tom is that naive that he would be tweeting this article as a commentary on the current political social scene. This is a man who researches his roles as if he were writing a dissertation on them. He's calculated. Maybe he really is terrified that he'll get booed at Comic Con and this is him trying to rally back the troops and saying "don't believe all you hear in the media, I am really just blowing off steam and was never serious about Taylor, that's why I said I can't speak for her and would rather talk about my work."
eyeroll I think I lost even more respect for him, not that there's much there left anymore.
