Mageres is a famous and well known 2-chan meme involving a picture of an older Asian gentleman making a funny face and giving a hearty thumbs up, typically with a red and yellow sunburst background. It can be used sincerely, as in "good job", sarcastically, or just for the hell of it. He's also photoshopped into a lot of pictures and featured in a lot of Nico Nico Douga.

To me personally Mageres is a pretty cool dude. He flashes thumbs up and doesn't afraid of anything.
