Subjectively speaking, freezing winters are better. I hate heat. It's often impossible to beat the heat, but with cold I can dress up in warm clothes. Heat just makes me feel miserable and irritated, and not a fun person to be around. It also makes any form of exercise give me a splitting headache.

Objectively speaking though, winters are probably more dangerous to humanity - life tends to flourish more toward the equator.
