Largely areligious Ashkenazi jew from New York goes on one of those sponsored vacations to Israel. While visiting an archaeological site, his tour group gets caught up in a Hamas shelling. Posted IDF rush to defend the site but are overwhelmed by Hamas, who are being assisted by a giant robot. The pilot of the robot is a neo-nazi villainess from Argentina who becomes the primary love interest for the protaganist and is leading the attack on the site believing it to contain a powerful artifact. The new yorker is separated from his tour group in the chaos and comes upon a large humanoid statue that is half-excavated and accidentally falls on it, breaking a hole in it and revealing a hollow void. The hole immediately closes up and the statue awakens and stands upright. It is actually an ancient war golem.
Using moves and weapons that parody stories and religious implements from jewish culture, the new yorker fends off Hamas and their co-conspirator.
The first act then assumes a villain-of-the-week format that sees the villainess and her nazi remnant organization collaborating with various interests in their efforts to destroy Israel, the golem or both with wacky schemes and robots. The new yorker whose soul is favored by the golem must not only learn to appreciate his new obligation to fight but also to smooth the friction between himself, the rest of the tour group, the IDF, and jewish scholars who all have various religious and secular objections to his becoming the unwitting operator of the golem.
The final act would ideally reveal that the golem was piloted by Jesus Christ himself in the battle between Heaven and Satan's fallen angels before the events of the old testament, and the new yorker must use it to fight the antichrist who will be a former member of the protaganist's faction as the tribulations described in Revelations come to pass
