If EO shows up in Australia, I will laugh so hard!
I loved that JArthy video! And the brazen fan goes "yes yes I am" LOL! Tom and his FWBs. I wonder if he picks them BECAUSE they have large scarves they can hide their faces behind. Nothing gets Gom hot and bothered like a large scarf.
"Oh darling is that large scarf yours? Put it over your face for me. No no just cover your whole face with it. Now wail my name. Oh yes that's perfect darling. Oh you're perfect!"
Gom? Lol Tom*
>>396 If you showed him a tampon he would clutch his pearls and faint.
I think he is naive in many ways. At Nuffield he was apparently spouting a load of utter crap about access to the arts and saying it was easier to get into the arts from a poor background than my line of business (law). Actually the Social Mobility Foundation's latest report on access to the professions said that the law was by far the most open of the professions in the UK. He does tend to rush in where angels fear to tread.
WHAT? Was there a Scarf-Face before PurseGate? And that Scarf-Face was JA?
No, I don't believe it. I don't! Everyone must have misheard JA and misinterpreted her actions. She probably said, 'Are you filming me, because if so, I fucking want a copy of that shit for my TH scrapbook!' Then, rather than cover her face, she probably made the universal sign for giving a blowjob and then pointed at TH.
>>404 Is there a universal sign for giving a blow job? Now I feel naive!
>>404 I went on YouTube looking for it for you. Couldn't find it, but I did find this: http://youtu.be/jHgNglzNGpY
>>405 Girl, get with the program! I knew this BEFORE I knew what FGM was...thanks, American education system!
>>408 I have never seen any British person anywhere do that ever.
>>406 Oh, sweet Jesus! Even Hitler is stunned by the all-powerful, all-consuming Ave JArthy.
Truly, she was a treasure. Gone but not forgotten. (Bow your heads and observe a minute of silence.)
>>409 Hmmm. I did it a few times when I was over there and no one questioned what I was doing. What the hell?!? What did they think I was doing?
Do the British have blowjobs? Maybe it's just an American thing? (Joking.)
>>411 It's obvious what it is intended to be. But I have never seen any British person mime giving a blow job. Well, you learn something new every day.
>>413 Use it during your next all-day mtg. You KNOW you want to.
>>414 I cannot tell you how tempting that idea is. Would also work in court as it would not be recorded on the tape! Long ago there was a Court of Appeal judge who, if he disliked a submission, would hold his nose and mime pulling the chain of an old fashioned toilet cistern. Now I can update that!
Interview with Corey Hawkins, this was 2 weeks ago, here's the bit about Skull.
"Okay. Have you met King Kong, and if so, what is he like?
[Laughs.] I can’t! I can’t say anything about that. I mean, I will say that it’s different from anything you’ve seen, and it’s such a good cast. It’s such an unbelievably good cast! I mean, when you think about it… Sam Jackson, John C. Reilly, John Goodman, Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, Jason Mitchell, Jon Ortiz, it just goes on and on and on.
All I’ll say is that this movie is going to be something that I think a lot of people… it’s going to be special. It’s just going to be special and it’s going to be fun. It’s going to be exciting. It’s going to take you back to sort of old filmmaking era, you know? That’s what it feels like making this movie. I mean we’re shooting at all these different locations. We’re stealing a little shooting right now. It’s going to be a wild, wild ride, and I love my character. I love my character."
>>416 Could it be good? Could it really be good? Could Shit Island turn into I Actually Enjoyed That Movie Island?
Mind you, they can always save it - and ensure box office success - with a single line from TH's character: I'm going to have to find this magical youth potion naked.
It seems as if John Goodman has a small part; he was only spotted in HI and seemed to only be there for a few weeks.
And what about Toby Kebbell? He was announced in trade papers as being part of the cast and it's on his IMDB, but neither hide nor hair of him. Maybe he'll show up in Vietnam.
An article on 'Brilliant and Average Biopic Casting.'
I won't spoil the surprise as to what TH as Hank Williams scored.
Thor 3 = Midnight Run, so says Mark Ruffalo. Will be shot in Sydney.
http://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/mark-ruffalo-thor-ragnarok-midnight-run-across-universe/
So no script, but at least a storyline.
>>418 They have some staff writer at the Radio Times whose panties are permanently wet for TH but who has a media outlet for her crazy fan ramblings. I think this is she...!
Skull: article in Vietnamese that gives dates about when they will wrap up in Australia and start filming in Vietnam
http://thanhnien.vn/van-hoa/phim-kong-skull-island-khoi-quay-tai-ninh-binh-vao-272-659938.html
The short version, if you don't feel like using google translate is:
"Looks like "Skull Island" will wrap Australia around Feb. 18th/19th to head to Hanoi for the last month of filming. "
https://twitter. com/reeltourshawaii/status/689893171036291073
""Kong: Skull Island" prep is working hard to get things ready for filming to begin in Vietnam on Feb. 27th."
https://twitter. com/reeltourshawaii/status/689884005848580096
"Kong films in Vietnam 2/27 - 3/15"
https://twitter. com/reeltourshawaii/status/689883418386034688
There's also an article in English with less details about dates
http://www.thanhniennews.com/arts-culture/king-kong-prequel-to-start-filming-in-vietnam-this-february-58410.html
This is longer than expected and makes the promotion for TH a bit difficult.
>>417 I hope so for them, moving production to so many locations for so much time is probably costing a fortune. The budget for advertising and promoting this film will make the total amount even higher, so they'll need a huge box office success to just break even.
>>423 Another source said filming would be until the end of March. Either way, one would assume that TH - as a key character - will be filming right up until the end of production or very close to it.
Remember when Sony said they were pushing back the release date for ISTL because TH couldn't promote it in Nov., i.d., it got arse fucked by critics? Well, that cover's blown as It sounds like he'll only have a week or so for US promotion in March - if it happens at all.
I wonder if they'll do additional promo for the supposed re-release in Nov.
With schedules shaping up, I'm putting my 100 virtual bucks on an EO Oz appearance in the first two weeks of February!
>>425 yes! I remember us discussing this at the time. Isn't it also going up against quite a few big releases in March? I still think they should have let it be a charming imperfect little word of mouth movie. Unfortunately it was marketed with a lot of words from Somebody's rather big mouth. "I put my soul into this movie." No. Be quiet.
>>426 I suppose it depends on how much rehearsal she has for her new project and how much publicity she needs to do for the latest Avengers snooze-fest. I have little idea about how much time these things actually occupy. It is an article of the TH nanny faith that he is always incredibly busy, and that when we don't see him for months he is giving interviews or doing endless photo shoots or researching his next project. I have a sneaking suspicion that actors do a lot less between projects than people think and that there is quite a lot of mooching around not doing very much. So we may see EO visiting Oz for a birthday shag...!
>>426>>428 I'll join that wager. I think EO will visit TH in Oz and I'm hoping we get a tweet AND a pic of it. Preferably of the two together cozying it up so we can sit and watch as people dissect their body language and present theories about "platonic friends kiss on the mouth with tongue all the time with their arms tightly wound around each other!"
>>429 Oh this is curious, according to this girl twitter she lives in LA, so either she is on vacation in Oz or TH is in LA.
>>429 never mind, as usual I missed the #tbt tag. I'll never learn.
>>433 No you are not being silly. Guessing by the outfit and the very straight blow dry this was taken in Pasadena. So the "#tbt I met TH but I was too cool to post this pic at the time" pose lasted about 2 weeks!
>>427 Lesson for TH: 'Soul' does not equal decent dialogue or script.
>>436 I'm starting to think he had his hair straightened. In the mall pics from Oz, it is straight again. Would he have thrown on a wrinkled shirt, cargo shorts and vans, but blown his hair out? Are they blowing it out everyday while filming?
>>435 I'm thinking they've probably given up on pushing ISTL on the international front. Hank W. is niche enough in the US. In the UK - Hank who?
Even with the TH fanbase - which always overestimates its own numbers - I would expect a very limited UK release.
>>434 Coach, even if there's a sighting, pic, sex tape - I'll still give you all the virtual bucks!
>>438 I still don't know! He wore it long and straight at Henry IV time - in some obviously home made straight but not very good blow drys. This was in the days before he was really into manscaping so I doubt he had it straightened then. It may be easier to make it straight when it is a bit longer, as now.
Looking again at the Pasadena pics. Not my favourite look. His hair looks like straw. He looks much younger and happier when riding his angry bird!
>>441 I think the HC look was the remnants of the straightening he had for Avengers. He did confirm that it was a chemical process for Avengers in an interview.
Going to try to find it.
Not sure what sort of 'sources' geek.com has - could just be the office Magic 8 ball, but they've got some 'exclusives' on Thor 3.

>>440 thanks! There's a lot already happening next week, fashion week in Paris for EO, Australian Open men's single final for TH.
>>446 Looks like TH wasn't running - he is wearing Vans I think. And a t shirt with a hole in the neck!
>>448 oh you are right, I confess I hardly looked at his shoes.
Actually now I look closer the t shirt has another huge hole at the waist seam and the jogging trousers have a hole in the pocket seam!!!
>>450 haha, true! He seriously needs new clothes.
This tumblr blog has a schedule of TH's upcoming events, some of those are pointless - who cares about DVD release if you live in a different country? - but it saves me from doing it.
Wow. His clothes are literally in tatters, and not in the cool distressed worn out look kids are wearing these days. Why doesn't EO get her shag buddy some sexy casual wear? Maybe she's the one ripping his clothes to get to that deliciousness underneath! ;)))
Torrilla has another pic from the same time of him with a girl. There is ANOTHER hole in the t shirt near the v of the neckband!

there goes the idea that he buys tshirt in stock, it's one for each colour!
Just a quick warning. My work IT people have told me that I picked up a Trojan virus (fortunately quarantined) from the web. I looked at the page and it was a tumblr page - couldn't identify it. So I checked that computer's history as I normally check tumblr on my phone. Lo and behold the only tumblr pages I had looked at from that machine was the bicycle. I know some on here heck in periodically - you have been warned....!
>>457 That v neck is so low it is below his chest rug!

That's a tight smile.
Shit Island will shortly have an unexpected boost: the next film starring Oscar winning actress, Brie Larson. May save it after all....
>>461 Yes. While taking one or two posed photos is fun we have now seen a gazillion pics of "Brie and her crew." I imagine the fun factor decreases with time!
>>459 Thanks, I always visit her blog using a proxy-server that blocks almost everything, but I'll do a scan just to be sure.

Tweet here. Not informative but has nice pic! https://mobile (.) twitter (.) com/G_Whizzz/status/690853772554280960
>>469 I see that so often with his pictures. Is no one telling him it's obvious? It looks like the world's worst makeup job.
"Graham Norton S18E16 Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, Sir David Attenborough"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTulMKfHWVQ
from minute 19:10 Hugh Laurie promotes TNM, Olivia Colman promotes TNM by trying to make you think it's a comedy.
Bewarned, no mention of TH, but it's very funny to watch, especially Hugh's story about Le Carrè.
>>469 Is he maybe self-conscious about his skin and insists on too much makeup? I find it hard to believe any self-respecting makeup artist would let this happen. It's a pretty basic makeup person skill..
It's not the makeup. It's called melasma.
It's not melasma. Makeup for photo and film should take care of that and even out the skin tone. I've noticed that whenever Tom gets his makeup done by Amanda Grossman, his face is a darker tone than his neck. She tries to "bronze" him up. But when he hires another makeup artist, he never has this uneven makeup problem. When he was doing his CP promo and then was in San Sebastián for HR, his makeup was so much better. When I checked, sure enough he had another lady, Sally something doing his makeup.
>>475 >>476 I think you both - all three? - may be right.
This seems to have been taken post HI filming, so he's had some pretty strong sun exposure. He's tan, but also appears to have some slight reddish brown patches (melasma) on his forehead - you can see spots of his usual, more pinkish skin scattered above his eye and near his hairline.
So, I maybe the people doing his make-up matched it to the darker, tanned skin of his face. It seems his neck didn't get as much sun exposure - which happens when you're 'working' in the sun and not lying on a beach or sun bed. His costume probably had a collar which covered his neck.
Or, which seems more likely given the unevenness, they might not have used any make-up at all and we're seeing the natural difference between his neck and face skin. Perhaps this is a preview pic and they're going to 'clean it up' in post and that's what we'll see on the actual cover. I think the original came from the picture editor - or am I making that up? Maybe he pushed the original, non-photoshopped pic.
Christ, we need another EO sighting - this post is way too long to be taking about TH's make-up. I only have myself to blame!!
PS - Three people had to push open the front door of my apartment building because there were 12 inches of snow in front of it. My neighbor saw me leaving for the store (we stocked up on food but not toilet paper!!) and offered me his snow shoes because most of the sidewalks hadn't been cleared this morning. They worked a treat - leg workout done!
>>477 oh god that's horrible! I live in SoCal and wish I could send some sun your way but unfortunately you'd get the drought with it too!
We need more photos of Tom in holey shirts! With EO's eye peeking out from one of the holes. She's going to show up in Oz just you guys watch! But we'll get confirmation much later. Either photographic or slip of the tongue from a reliable source. Like Bora Bora and JVR's IG fiasco. I don't think EO is done with TH by a long shot. And maybe neither is he ;)
>>477 Can't tell you how many times I wished I had snow shoes when I lived near NYC.
Thank you for the explanation-I know nothing about melasma. I have noticed the pink areas on his forehead, and assumed it was from scars.
I think Tom has some sun damage on his forehead, and his hairline has receded just a bit since it happened so the skin looks splotchy sometimes. I do agree >>477 that the difference in color between his face and neck in that photo is probably due to tanning while filming.
As far as EO showing up in Australia is concerned, I think it's more likely that Tom will fly to LA between Oz and Vietnam for some ISTL promotion, and they'll be spotted together then. Or "spotted" together. If it happens at all. But yes >>478, more holey shirts please.
>>478 This is my first NYC Snowmageddon. I missed the one in 2010. It's nice. The city's strange and beautiful when all the people are off the streets!
>>479 Some are scars, but the spots are - I think - the areas not affected by the very low-grade melasma (which is just darkening of the skin due to sun damage). You can really see the sun damage in the HR hi-def pic. Look at his face compared to his neck and his body. Mind you, wouldn't kick him out of bed for it.
>>487 Yeah, I don't think they're done with each other either. Whatever they've got, it seems to be working for them, so I expect it will continue.
>>480 I wonder when they're going to get in ISTL promo.
There were about three weeks between HI and Oz filming, but I think a great deal of that was for the holiday.
I wonder if there will be a similarly lengthy break between Oz and Vietnam. If there is, you may be right and they'll meet up in LA for promo and bonking - ahhh, Hollywood!
Perhaps they did the majority of the promo in Nashville - we've already seen some pics and interviews from that time.
The observer article is already floating around: Torrilla, twitter, tumblr.
It seems to be an ISTL piece, complete with a pic of the couple.
He is charming and delightful throughout, but then we expected that.
>>483 Charming and delightful! And of course, he paid for the interviewer's meal. Ever the gentleman.
I enjoyed how EO was labeled "ISTL co-star" in the photo.
>>483 >>485 The interview mentions ISTL but the strap line at the bottom is "TNM starts on BBC1 in February" so I infer he was doing the interview at the behest of the BBC not as part of his contractual obligations for ISTL. I wonder how much more publicity he will actually do for ISTL. I mean, they had the premiere in Nashville and a lot of promo then. Interviewers are probably holding back material from TIFF or maybe from earlier - a lot of the promo material for CP was from on set interviews.
>>485 I particularly enjoyed that costar bit too.
Overall, the interview was like deja vu. All about his Eton and Cambridge background and his privilege, and all redundant basic info about his upcoming ISTL and TNM, and how Tom always reads for research, for both work and interviews. Can't these guys ask better questions or does staring directly into Tom's baby blues short circuit everyone's brains?
>>483 Interview was done at the restaurant where he was filmed by the fangirls between Christmas and New Year.
I thought it was so sad when he was talking about being sent to boarding school. He is too loyal to his parents to say but he pretty obviously hated it. Boarding school is still common here from age 12 but you have to be a pretty dysfunctional parent to send your child away at 7 if you don't absolutely need to (eg diplomatic service). His parents lived in Oxford and the boarding school they sent him to was in Oxford! I could not live knowing my child was 2 or 3 miles away and was unhappy.
More generally he didn't sound like his usual carefree self. Somewhat bristly. Not (dare I say) very loved up.
>>487 At least we learned a new nickname for Tom - I think we should all call him "Uncle Yay Monster" from now on.
>>486 and the twitter follow of this journalist happened recently, so I think the interview took place between HI and Oz.
>>488 I thought the same, that's why when people read he was with a woman he was firting I tend to think: "interview".
>>492 I wasn't at the point in the interview where she mentioned the name of the place where they were eating but yeah, Jan 3rd.
I actually think it was a different occasion - the journalist mentions he was wearing a gray t-shirt, but his shirt he was wearing in the video at Côte was definitely white (I'm almost positive, anyway). The restaurant is near his home, he's probably there often.
>>494 Was it? I could only watch the video once so I don't remember really. So Côte wll become the new G&W for delusional fans?
>>494 Here is the screencap: https://scontent-frt3-1.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xaf1/t51.2885-15/s640x640/sh0.08/e35/12501496_1736612903234401_720469547_n.jpg
It's white but kind of grubby looking! Restaurant is about a 15 minute walk from his house, past a lot of other much closer and more discreet places (Côte is a chain and has a lot of tables squeezed in. Exactly the sort of place you'd go I you wanted a fangirl to photograph you).
>>496 Thanks, I knew there was a screencap out there somewhere.
I read the interview again and I despair slightly. She says they talked about Graham Greene and Plato, and yet she devoted nearly a page to telling everyone how he followed her first on Twitter. It is lengthy but strangely uninformative. What would you make of it if you had never heard of him and were reading it for the first time?
>>498 it's not on par with the ElleUK's but yes the journalist didn't press too much, so the result is bland. But that's a common theme, even in this interview in the end you don't end up with much http://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/oct/08/tom-hiddleston-interview-crimson-peak
>>499 I get the feeling Tom does more research for some of these interviews than the journalists themselves - if they don't do enough reading up on Tom beforehand they won't even realize they're asking all the same questions and putting all the same information in an article for the hundredth time.
