I don't think either wants to admit to being FWB. It's not a scarlet letter, and probably common with celebs, but also not something you go public with.
And - given the timing AND the recent interview from her ex - if they admit to a real, lovey-dovey relationship, the timing will be questioned - as we've all said around here.
It's hard to determine what's going on because there are so many variables. We have a control - it's his relationship with SF. Open, took her to RCs, posed with her for photos, kissed her, was affectionate towards her. Normal relationship.
But then he got famous and everything changed. So, it's hard to tell what JA was - FB, FWB or real girlfriend. And this THEO thing is just impossible to label because of the hot fuckery surrounding it.

So, will lunch turn into dinner? Will some pap photos show up somewhere? Is so, the question - as it always has been - will be if they are trying to introduce/ manage a real relationship going public or if they are trying to rustle up some momentum for a movie that seems to be DOA.

My two cents on THEO:
I think they got together while/after filming ISTL. But something happened around the end of July / August and they either split or took a break: they seemingly spent the whole month of August apart and they were acting quite distant at TIFF, even at the premiere when they did not know yet that ISTL was a flop. When asked about the relationship, they denied it since they were not together anymore. (Sidenote: EO might have held hands with MA to make TH jealous?)
Then I think they got back together (maybe in early October when she was supposedly seen in London after her stay in Paris?), which would explain their lovey-dovey body language at the Nashville premiere and the latest sightings of them together.
This is just speculation on my part.

And they were wanting to sell the 'We're not a couple' story, so they acted very much like they'd never bumped genitals.
But there definitely was a different feel in October in Nashville, as anon1 said: giggly, touchy-feely. I think their genitals bumped hard that weekend because it's Nashville and no one's really watching, because they'd denied any relationship and probably felt they could go under the radar, etc.
It seems to be a very convenient relationship - FB or FWB - and working for them (humans need relationships) at this point in their lives. And it might become more as it develops. Either way, we get to gossip and speculate - good message board business.

Yeah, this is what I mean, JJ is very sanitized now. I don't think TH and EO would show up there unless it was pre-planned/approved. We were pretty sure with the body language at TIFF that it was a no, and I can kind of see that period being the "off again" time that anon1 suggested. Then happy times in Nashville! We do know that he seems most content with an on/off relationship as the JArthy kept going under for months then surfacing like Moby Dick (not sure why I am on the Herman Melville metaphors here)(was it the prosecco I was drinking while prepping a pre-Christmas dinner for friends? Surely not!!).

Just a random reminder of a couple of other things: no show at either family wedding which puts this squarely in the FWB box to me, especially after probably a year of dating. And the second thing: evidence suggests he doesn't socialise with that many people these days. Has anyone seen a pic of him with a university or non industry friend recently? There was the pic when he went to see Gatiss at the theatre but that is all I can recall. He took his PA to the tennis, after all. I have a PA that I get on well with - but prime seats at Wimbledon? No way. That says to me he has a small circle of acquaintance these days. One reason he may spend time with EO is because he seems now to be very wary about making friends outside the industry.

I saw a tweet that reminded me of something... I remember reading that back when Avengers was filming, Tom and Scarlett Johansson went horseback riding together in California wine country or something like that. I think he was still with Susannah Fielding at the time, so it got me thinking about how he has a history of doing very date-like things with his female friends he's allegedly not dating.

He is such a creature of habit! These are so similar to last year's LAX photos that I had to look to check they were not from last year. They aren't - different bag and he has rung the changes by wearing a blue t shirt instead of his blue diaphanous shirt. Otherwise his outfit is identical even down to the guitar accessory. Has he turned into one of those men who takes his guitar everywhere and insists on playing it at parties?!!

Then there's the tabloid stories. I think Jessica C. has been the only other co-star he's been linked to in the tabs. She denied it and the story died. But this is just not going away. As I mentioned before - there's seems to be too much smoke for there not to be some fire.

I too am about to disappear, into a land where there is no wifi and no computer (his parents; they are ancient) and where there is wifi but it is always switched off in case the Internet leaks out into the streets (my parents; they are bonkers).
PS No TH that I saw, but I highly recommend catching The Winter's Tale on NT Live when it comes round. It's a great production. And I loved KB before fandom or the Internet had been invented (and when TH was probably wearing short trousers). He has still got it going on!

No-one ever seems to consider the possibility that the general public are pretty rubbish at identifying actors, and misidentify them half the time. There's loads of pictures out there of people with 'celebs' that are actually just random people that look vaguely like someone famous. And every famous actor will tell you stories of being mistaken for a different famous actor.
I bet at least some of these THEO 'sightings' are nothing of the sort! I can well believe that someone mistook blonde, petite Brie Larson for blonde, petite Elizabeth Olsen.

We did discuss upthread whether all the HI sightings were genuine, and those who had seen the tweets thought some were attention-seeking fakes from teenagers who wanted followers.
Some sightings are doubtless also mistaken identity, though the recent Twitter guy seems to be an Avengers/Chris Evans fan. I'd have thought he would be less likely to get it wrong. I'm less sure what I think about a tumblr anon who says Brie mentioned she had lunch with TH because she was "correcting" a wrong Twitter sighting!
However in my view the jury's out till we get a sighting in Australia!

Anyway, far from wanting to drag this out since to me the whole thing was closed at TIFF, but the q&a info is easy enough to verify, one would just need to find someone else on social network that was there, or even the host, and ask. Which makes the idea of making it up unlikely.
