I can't even begin to deal with this. So: as long as you authentically believe that your private life should remain sacred, it's ok to say that in an interview and then later do a pap stroll, provided that the pap stroll is also authentic. It's also OK to authentically decide to release fakely candid photos of yourself using the paparazzi or your friends' instagrams.
