I hope nobody minds that I cleaned up the title a little bit.
I ran today. And when I when I got home I ate grapes and a orange. I feel great.
I caught rares, so many rares!
HAHAHAH!
Wanna know what I love?
Paychecks.
Eh, I'll do it tormorrow.
Ohhh I like this cold weather.
Lullaby~
It is ridiculously warm out today.
Curse you, B1. You'll be the death of me.
I just hugged my mother.
Is it possible to delete posts on DQN?
>>545
No, dunno why though. Normally you can in Kareha.

Hey /DQN/, what's the simplest way to use HTML5 to embed a .3g2 video in a page?
>>549<video src="video.3g2" width="320" height="240">
Of course, it won't work unless the user's browser supports it. Which it won't. Transcode it to .webm, there a bunch of easy tools to do this.
>>550
Oh...would the code be any different for webm? Also what about ogg video?

Judging from the comments and description and stuff am I the only person that finds this horrific? Please tell me it's a well-made spoof like something Chris Morris would make

Wondering whether it's legal to take a wooden prop katana on-board a train.
Also, 555 GET.

Not him, but it could still be considered a weapon. I mean, baseball bats are weapons. So are hacksaws. Now you have something actually shaped to resemble a weapon used to chop people up.
Oh lawnmower blade, what are you doing in my bag?
I am going to go to bed at a decent hour tonight.
I've already leveled up enough to not need this any more.

I don't think so, Tim.
I don't get depressed because I'm hurt personally. I get depressed when people around me are in pain. And I'm really fucking depressed right now.
Welcome to Heaven.
Does DQN lift weights? I just broke a front squat plateau and a power snatch plateu inside a week of exams.
Perhaps I should try hard mode.
I find it ironic that Americans tend to spell Döner Kebab as if it were named after the Donner Party.
>>568 That's not ironic. That's just bad spelling. (also, we usually spell it "gyro" over here, because lol immigrant nationalism)
What is ironic that kebab is a better spelling, but kabob is a better pronunciation, as far as matching the Middle Eastern languages goes. There are no winners in Great Vowel Shift, only survivors.
Why do people say "rice balls" instead of "onigiri"? You don't call shish kebabs "meat-on-skewers" or chocolate mousse "cocoa foam".
It's raining mittens!
>>566
I lift a little. Just, you know, so I can be both a nerd and a sexy manbeast.
>>570 there is no overridingly consistent logic behind what terms people adopt in the process of cultural appropriation.
I love the fact that it moves itself - like it's possessed or something. I still can't believe I actually made the damn thing.
I find it hard to use DQN because I'm too dumb to realize which threads have moved within the past week.
On the page source, from line 90 onwards we have:
var pictureSrc = 'http://shii.org/b/mittens.gif'; //the location of the mittens
var pictureWidth = 40; //the width of the mittens
var pictureHeight = 46; //the height of the mittens
var numFlakes = 10; //the number of mittens
var downSpeed = 0.01;
var lrFlakes = 10;
var EmergencyMittens = false;
I really want to fiddle about these settings. Especially numFlakes.
>>576
Go for it.
Also I like how Shii didn't even make any effort to hide that he adapted it from a GeoCities snowflake script.

Wishing on a dream that seems far off
Hoping it will come today
Into the starlit night,
Foolish dreamers turn their gaze,
Waiting on a shooting star
But, what if that star is not to come?
Will their dreams fade to nothing?
When the horizon darkens most,
We all need to believe there is hope
Is an angel watching closely over me?
Can there be a guiding light I've yet to see?
I know my heart should guide me, but,
There's a hole within my soul
What will fill this emptiness inside of me?
Am I to be satisfied without knowing?
I wish, then, for a chance to see,
Now all I need, [desperately]

Oh thank you!
I gave $6 and sent it to my friends.

I thought Katawa Shoujo was kind of boring but the music was nice.
Oh shit! I just realized that I'm going to learn sign language so I can talk with my girlfriend just like that guy in that game. I guess that eroge isn't all that different from real life after all? Fuck, did I just compare life to porn video games? I'm messed up!
>>583
Funny that you say that. I did Rin's route a few months ago and forgot about the game, but just last night I picked it back up on a whim. I played through Shizune's route and found myself thinking, 'I wonder how it would feel to play this while learning sign language to talk to a girl you like in real life?' No kidding, I actually thought exactly that.
I haven't played other VNs so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I was impressed by the art and detail. The plot and dialogue can be long-winded and angsty, and the sex scenes are laughably unrealistic, but I didn't expect much more from an eroge. All in all, it's a pretty fine game for what it is and a testament to the power of internet collaboration.
>>580
Why do you need money to make an album?
Why am I giving for a cause before it's even done anything?
Why not earn the money yourself if you need it? I might be able to get investors, but people on the streets wouldn't just give me money for a project even if it was noncommercial.
I'm tired and it's still two weeks until the festival.
>>585
Because nobody will just give you a studio and/or press your CDs for free.
>>587
In which case you earn money to pay for those things.
Asking for free money because you're a content creator is dumb. Imagine if instead of saving up for their instruments, The Beatles went around Merseyside asking, "Hello, me and my friends are trying to start a band. Would you mind giving us a quid or two so we can afford instruments and a studio?"
Not to mention content creation is fun. Welders or bricklayers may be able to get an advance, but they can't say, "Oh I'll probably weld some trucks or lay a few bricks in the future. Mind giving me some money now?"
>>588
Well, the good thing about Kickstarter is that you only actually give people the money when the target sum is raised and work on the project begins, so you're not exactly paying for vague promises of some distant future outcome. It's more like promising "if you find enough other suckers to get started, I don't mind giving you a small amount".
>>583
This is my new favourite VN, and it pretty much changed my life. Sounds like eye-rolling material right? Well it's what happened. Most other visual novels were pretty much just about the porn and the subsequent fapping. Katawa Shoujo was not, and it showed me what life could be. Rin and Lilly both. Now I'm running, eating better, drawing, learning ASL, and going to college after two years of doing nothing. I have a better understanding of myself and my life and how I want to live and the happiness that I seek to obtain. That I will obtain.
All because of this "cripple porn game." Heh.
I found something chemistry-related, but you're not around so I can't show you it. 'Tis a shame.
IT'S SO NICE OUT!
>just about the porn and the subsequent fapping
If you've been playing nothing but hentai VNs, sure.
I respect your appreciation of the game and the creativity which went into your inspired works, but for such a small project whose roots are in a niche game made for a niche audience and started itself with very few resources, I don't agree with you begging for money to do what so many others simply enjoy doing for fun.
>>594
Oh shit, I am sorry. Your post made me think you were the Kickstarter guy. Anyway I agree with you fully about how amazing the game itself it.
>>585,588,590
By calling it "begging for money", "free money", or whatever, you don't seem to understand what this is for. It's more akin to theater production or concert promotion, where your backers spot you money for something that will end up turning a profit, and that thing isn't going to happen unless there is enough funding to get things started (unless you're trying to replicate the plot of The Producers for real).
Also, the game's FAQ says, "Selling fanworks that do not use official content (including the KS logo) and do not pretend to be official is okay." therefore it is okay. Don't get your knickers in a wad about it. Embrace Elitist Capitalism Lifestyle, fellow DQN.
That said, the proposal isn't very clear on what the product will be (is this a for-profit EP? on what formats? where will it be found when it's done?). One should always make this clear in a pitch; no backer should have to deduce this from anything other than the first couple paragraphs of "about this project". You know, before anyone thinks I have anything to do with supporting this project--which I will not be donating to because I am 100% fucking broke and live in my parents' basement (´_`)トホホ
WHY AM I SUCH A FAILURE?!
>>598
Maybe your decision to whine about it on an anonymous BBS instead of considering your conduct has something to do with it.
I still have an entire pagoda to build. Perhaps even more than one.
God forbid the height limit be raised again, I don't think I can handle a bigger torii than that.
So some guy is saying in the request thread that Tokiko killed himself. What's the story there? Any confirmation? I thought he just threw another of his tantrums and stormed off the internet in a huff.
That pasta bake will haunt me for the rest of the week.
These cheese-coated buns are so fattening but so goddamn delicious.

>one of his many pseudonyms
What makes a name false? Every identity which someone maintains is authentic in some sense.
That last caller was so full of crap. Everyone knows women are made from sand.
>>617
'pseudonym' is usually used in the sense of a self-bestowed title which one uses as a blanket under which his or her activities may be carried out in order to deter the credit given therein which would normally be associated with a more familiar, widely-known handle. It's not false, per se, but rather a deterrent from one's public and material identity.
I agree, however, and I think this is what you might have been getting at, that with the spread of information whose owner could be anyone, the notion of a static and unchanging alias which points only to the originator of the information itself is becoming less relevant.
Ritual for the disposal of hazardous cognitions.
What a wonderful summer day.
I feel like going to the beach, but none of my friends are the "I'm happy to just sit on a beach and simply be for the day" types.
This is fun!
YES YES YES NO WAIT FUCK
Brother, brother, we don't need to escalate
>>629, could you expand on that a bit ? Why do you feel like so ?
The thought of anyone hating DQN disturbs me deeply and as such, I feel like interrogating you for roughly an hour.
