You should really kill yourself (the fuck, up) please please kill yourself (shut... the fuck, up)
>>650
Your apparent inability to take matters into your own hands (telling someone to kill himself vs. killing him with your own evil hands) tells me you probably vote Team Lefty.
How's it feel to be responsible for destroying everything that's good about humanity?
I'm quite fond of the Queen.

>>650 is suffering from Filthy Frank's song stuck in his head. It seems that Youtube recommends it as "What to watch next" on his (TVFilthyFrank) channel. Personally, I prefer his song about ramen: http://youtu.be/4qKJS-8bzoA

Don't remind me.
Every time someone on TV or NPR says "climate change" like it's a big important scary thing, I mutter "climate change" like a snotty little girl would.
Climate's been changing for over four billion years. It ain't stopping now, no matter how much trace gas you try to modulate.
>>657 It's happening pretty quickly though. It would make sense to try and slow it down, although at this point there's not much we COULD do to slow it down anyway.
If just one person in ten killed themselves, it would be like everyone reducing their carbon emissions by 10%!
I met a real-life genuine climate change denier the other day. I didn't think they actually existed.
>>660
One of my childhood friends turned out to be a real-life honest to god creationist, and he doesn't even have the excuse of living/having been brought up in the Bible Belt or anything. Never underestimate the irrationality of people's beliefs.
>>660
Whereas I have a hard time believing anyone with a functioning brain could fall for such a transparent scam.
I'd like to mofumofu.
>>660
He was probably trying to troll you, there aren't really people that believe that we aren't causing climate change.
Blasphemy and a blasts for you

How come, if this person actually grew up in 70-80s, he not a single time mentioned SU and US nuking the shit out of each other and probably the rest of the world.
>>662,668
I have never met a climate change denier in real life either, but I've read around the topic a little and I'm quite interested in the idea. I'd be very grateful if you could briefly explain what, exactly, you believe about climate change and why.
>>672
I don't deny it or affirm it, but I have seen myriads and myriads of studies that claim to conclusively prove things one way or another, followed by revelations that the data was fudged or that some factor wasn't taken into account. For example, recently, been some fuss over a study by John Cook or something, claiming "97% of scientists believe man-made climate change is significant", following which the cited scientists got together and said "No, that's not what we said at all."
The fact that such a paper exists (and the controversy over the paper) tells me that this issue is not being approached in a scientific manner. Science should not be about consensus, it should be about experimental results. It doesn't help that politicians of all shapes and sizes are the loudest voices heard, and they certainly aren't scientific.
So I have resolved not to trust anything on the matter. If I believe one extreme, there's nothing to worry about. If I believe another extreme, it's too late. If I believe somewhere in the middle, I shouldn't buy a Hummer and should use paper bags instead of plastic. But I do that anyway, so there's absolutely no point in committing myself to any kind of "belief".
'Cause I'm your laaaaaaaaaaaaadyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Measures taken against global warming have always been negative instead of positive. Instead of giving grants to small factories in order to greenify their processes, they tax them to oblivion. Instead of improving public transport, they tax and/or prohibit car owners from using their cars. Let's not forget how electronics can boost their value by simply slapping a green sticker on top. A keen observer can notice that these measures only benefit a small business elite; while a polution fee might kill a medium-sized companies, big companies can pay them with ease, likewise car owners are forced to buy new cars every few years benefiting car manufacturers. That's why I don't take it seriously, because politicians sure don't. It's just an excuse to benefit their cronies, as usual.
For some reason everybody around me post Filthy Frank's videos.
So, purely on the basis that it's used as political gameplay (what isn't?), what rational mind comes to the conclusion that it clearly isn't real and everyone who believes otherwise is clearly an idiot? Why be "that guy", one of a minority of hate machines on an otherwise pretty chilled-out BBS?
>>677
If I tell you The world will end, and conveniently you can stop it by giving me all your money,'' is it more rational to decide
The world won't actually end'' or ``That guy's a scam artist, but that sign he was holding is pretty convincing. I bet the world actually is going to end.'' ?
That's probably the way >>675 looks at it, assuming that's who you're responding to. (He's also no more offensive than >>660 or >>661, so please don't perpetuate the cycle of offensiveness.)
I wonder how many fans they'd lose if Metallica started emphasizing the third syllable of their name instead of the second.
Roleplayers are so confusing sometimes. How are you supposed to know what parts of the not-so-obviously-fake things they say about themselves are true and which ones not.
So today I was riding in a car, and by car I mean poo in a butt.
I wonder how many fans Eminem would lose if he started emphasising the second syllable of his name instead of the first and third.
>>677
Well, also the fact that any initiative to finally move away from fossil fuels onto thorium or hydrogen is wishy-washy or turned down even though both are 100% feasible on mid to long term. Either global warming isn't that pressing, or mantaining the status quo of the oil economy is more important than the poles melting. AFAIK, politicians still live on planet Earth and are concerned for their own well-being at the very least.

If you've never played pokemon, then how do you know espeon is a pokemon?
http://4-ch.net/dqn/kareha.pl/1372715787/23 made me think... So, are you a VIPPER or a dokyun?
Sometimes I gingerly click my SAoVQ bookmark but I never feel cool enough to post, whereas to me, being a dokyun has connotations of being a bit of a dumbass, so I am most certainly the latter in my heart and soul
>>690
I'm an internet addict and DQN. VIPPERs are like wannabe-hipsters.
I'm a DQN, raised by a hen
Oh hey, >>332's old dulcimer piece came on my ipod at work yesterday, it gave me a cosy feeling I wanted to share with you all
My life is flowing away.
Most people would think I'm a normal, good guy with a lot of stuff to live for, but it's not true at all.
I'm a half-breed. The new generation, except not as gay. I'm... VIQN. Say it to yourself; "vikyuuuuu~n!". Doesn't it sound wonderful?
Ironically, I think DQN is pretty VIP and SAOVQ is pretty DQN.
>>692
<3
I've caught a virus or two.
>>697
Me too! Maybe it's just the elitism talking, but SAOVQ seems pretty circlejerky to me.
In my experience, SaoVQ and DQN are quite similar, with DQN being more fun. Still torn on whether or not I'd be a dokyun or VIPPER, though. What a conundrum.
How can I improve on post 946 in the change one word thread? It's perfect.
>>701
IN THIS THE 21ST CENTURY, THERE IS NO IMPROVEMENT, ONLY PROGRESS
I've spent eight and a half hours awake, doing nothing. Why?
Why are people complaining about global warming on DQN? Don't they know we invented it to get control of the fish industry?
Given that it hasn't actually warmed in almost 20 years now, you're doing a shitty job of it, >>704.
Both sides of this global waning "discussion" are pretty dickly about it.
Not a kettle.
Well that's just not nice.

Suck on my teaness.
So what's stopping y'all from paying for your own damn birth control pills?
My crack about eating Jack's sac had a much longer-lasting impact on the control tower thread than I would have ever thought.
Paprikás krumpli is the best krumpli.
It's too damn hot.
The conduction coefficient that characterizes material composing an ideal spheroid which encloses myself and a heat source is too arbitrarily small to facilitate an agreeable diffusion rate of particulate motion.
I have accepted defeat. You no longer scare me, exam.
Pretty little head.
I burned my bread :(
Well, back to bed...
Michael Medved is dead.
No he's not.
... Ted.
Try not to lose your head.
She ran away. Now she's in Wales, in Wrexham.
HOT TODAY
I will bring my fun
Too much bread, not enough circuses.
Most of current internet is too serious. I want my light hearted communities back.
G+ "what's hot" makes me want to bash my head against the wall most of the times.
"Look, Sherpas got us on a huge rock, what a stunning achievement! Have a cheesy quote about eating and making money to be able to enjoy life and a photo with lots of yellow-cyan rugs on it, because we don't really know what's going on in Ukraine, but hands off it, Putin!"
I need to use the word "loopy" somewhere.
>>728
I think it's because the internet used to be a lot more optional than it is these days, so people thought about it as if it didn't matter.
>>731
People thinking things matter is the foundation of all that is horrifying and trite, surely.
I saw the most amazing butterfly today. I mean really, truly, incredible. It was rather large as butterflies go; at least the size of my palm. In colour, it was sort of beige-ish, with little black spots. The forewings were large and bulbous, and the hindwings had little lobes hanging from them. It also had an unusual way of flying too, mostly gliding with little spurts of energetic flapping. I have absolutely no idea what it was, either.
There's a rat in my room. Wild rats would be cute if they weren't noisy and filthy.
There's more than one, at least 2, and one spooked me in the middle of a scary story. Screw rats.
It isn't sarcasm if you have to end your sentence with a tag.</sargasem>
I enjoy the intellectual superiority of DQN over SAOVQ.
I'll tell you when you're older.
Is Wario really a Turk? Being Mario's evil counterpart, does that imply that Turks are the evil version of Italians?
Almost posted the address to my workplace in the Ctrl-V thread. Hehahahehah.
Well, this is exactly why I shouldn't be in charge of the country.
迷子になっちゃった。
>>742
Of course, the Italians have the Roman catholic church, the Turks have the evil twin Eastern Orthodox church from the days of the Ottoman empire.
Oh gosh new Dwarf Fortress oh my goodness oh golly gosh
Goddamnit, Yukari.
