I used to have a pretty big beard; I eventually cut it off after I got tired of people identifying me as 'the beard guy' instead of talking to me like a person and complimenting something I did literally nothing to achieve instead of acknowledging my legitimate skills and hard work. It's unpleasantly like being an attractive female.
