I know what you mean. It makes me sick when I see how the mainstream media superhumanizes autists at the expense of actual autists. Why can't they just be depicted unsupplemented? It's absolutely condescending, and normal people think they're being Good People for being sympathetic to tasteless depictions of autists like on Big Bang theory. Like, don't they understand that autists are literally incapable of feeling empathy? But they depict the characters like they aren't mentally impaired, but rather putting up a facade, and, deep inside, they actually are empathetic people--as though those attributes are necessary for being a good, functional human being. Just obnoxious.
