I keep going to look up some english set phrase in japanese and finding out that there's no concise translation or similar-meaning idiom(but there often is one in chinese, weirdly enough) and the best way to describe that thing is by just literally describing it
examples I've had recently:
"benefit of the doubt" - best translation is basically the definition = (証拠ないから)有利に解釈 = judge(someone) favorably (because there is no evidence)
"middle of nowhere" - best translation = 人里離れた which also just means "far away from human habitation"
