Thread to talk about the actor Tom Hiddleston

He is turned toward her, but it looks like they're in TIFF-mode body language wise.

Also, is she wearing a very deep cut top or are my eyes being tricked by a nude shirt?

And finally...his 'groomer' is ill, so she's wearing a mask! She's either too precious for words or she's undercover playing out her TH doctor fantasy.

I am always kind of sad when I see that even a man with only two pairs of casual trousers has a "groomer"

706 Name: Anon : 2016-03-22 21:52 ID:qAvx5iXW

>>703 God, I hope she is wearing a beige top or that is one seriously low cut outfit! They both look pretty miserable. Maybe they've read the reviews.

>>703 That's some serious side- boob paired with King Kong's claw. My side- boob theories are:
a) On display to gratuitously flaunt what he can no longer touch. Revenge boob.
b) On display to lure Little Hiddles to 2 second wall sex. Seductress boob.

>>705 He ditched the color-blind makeup artist at TIFF and it seems hasn't looked back. This one works for one of the top fashion agencies in the States. Someone's finally been reading the comments sections in every article ever written about him. I can't believe it took so long. The comparisons to Engelbert Humperdinck were embarrassing

>>708 It is from my computer. Perhaps try a different device? I think it's his groomer. She's since posted a second shot. She also has/had a personal IG account from which she posted the odd TH pic during her travels/work.

>>705 I think she's a newer groomer, from the CP onward time (I think). Ugh - that Thor premiere! He looked positively tomatoey.

>>707 Surely she must have a shirt on?!? I think I can just see a delineation from her skin to the shirt. No way she would wear something like that for a press day - revenge or seductress boob theories (which are excellent) aside!

719 Name: Anonon : 2016-03-23 03:04 ID:HGIy8Z3c

>>717 I would usually say she's too young for an eye lift if her nose wasn't so dramatically chipped and her face didn't have the glow of a thousand botox needles.
The gown is actually so ill fitting sceptics could again argue she is deliberately trying to look pregnant. She's a strong contender for fug of the year.

720 Name: Anon. : 2016-03-23 03:45 ID:Ep2jQcLc

>>718 At least it's not black. Color looks good on her. I find her style so strange - while I'm glad she isn't falling out of a latex dress like a Kardashian, she does have a lovely figure (as my grandmother would say), so I'm not sure why everything she wears is so ill-fitting!

Also, I think her make-up here is on point. And the hair is good too, a lot better than the wrapped ponytail a la Nashville - that was awful hair.

They do look good together, and more importantly, they don't seem to be playing the TIFF games or the Nashville games. And while I don't think they're giving anything away, she does look very 'cat that got the cream' in some of the pics.

721 Name: anonsy : 2016-03-23 04:05 ID:V6C+Feoq

>>720 It all looks like very usual behavior for Tom with a leading lady to me. EO does have a tendency to make that "I have a naughty secret" face in photos, so I'm not surprised to see it in some of the pics from tonight. Actually they both seem more like their usual red carpet selves, thank god... maybe because there's nothing to hide anymore?

722 Name: Whatsinaname : 2016-03-23 04:07 ID:89pEWkso

>>717 Never noticed the eye. I think I see it? I'll look more closely from now on.

>>719 I was just coming back to say that same thing- the vague-baiting with a pseudo-maternity dress.

>>720 She is pretty and has a great figure so I don't get her style either the majority of the time.

TH is coming on JK's next. I'll report back like I did last night.

724 Name: Whatsinaname : 2016-03-23 04:54 ID:89pEWkso

And they showed a clip of him singing. Talked about Bernie Danders, Migel Faraj (blechhh). Mention of TNM, Bond, taking the time of Hank seriously and training to sing with RC. They ended with Jimmy persauding him to yodel.

>>720 >>721 Well, I have no idea. Torrilla has more pics and she is doing exactly what she did in Nashville - putting her hand on his lapel in a flirty way. But no hand-holding and no sign that they arrived together. Torrilla has some pics of him arriving and it looks like he was alone.

If we didn't know the backstory we wouldn't look at the pics and assume anything other than his usual friendship with his co-stars. Jury still seems to be out.

727 Name: anonsy : 2016-03-23 08:12 ID:V6C+Feoq

>>725 According to Twitter and Instagram (and Torrilla photos) he arrived alone, a good half hour before EO. And by alone, I mean with Olly, of course.

728 Name: Anon : 2016-03-23 08:21 ID:qAvx5iXW

Can I be controversial and say I don't like his suit? The fabric was stiff and I thought the stitching in the lapel and its shininess made it look cheap (I am sure it wasn't). Also is there no middle ground between really dull dark navy and knock your eye out blue? It somehow worked for the Reiss suit - but translated off a fun high street piece to high end designer gear I am not sure it does.

729 Name: Anon : 2016-03-23 09:02 ID:qAvx5iXW

>>726 Can I just say for the avoidance of doubt that the General Election was NOTHING LIKE the primaries. Trump makes Farage look almost normal (no mean achievement). And the press treated him as a fringe nutter, albeit one who might do some damage in marginal seats.

730 Name: Whatsinaname : 2016-03-23 14:29 ID:zFoXuPv1

>>729 I wondered about Nigel (bungled spelling earlier, sorry) compared to Trump. Who were his core supporters?

731 Name: Anon. : 2016-03-23 14:52 ID:Ep2jQcLc

>>723 Maybe the red socks were TH's way of confirming a relationship: 'Yeah, I had white socks but then I washed them with my FB's red curtains, and later she made those curtains into a dress, so, yeah, we're people who sometimes wash their socks and curtains together.'

Maybe red socks are EO's Wimbledon?

732 Name: Whatsinaname : 2016-03-23 15:02 ID:zFoXuPv1

>>732 Whoa! Baby steps. That's for a post-engagement appearance!

734 Name: Anon : 2016-03-23 16:01 ID:VhNAEDLk

>>730 That's an interesting question. The assumption before the election was that Farage would take voters from the right - however it now appears that more damage was done to the left (http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/may/23/labour-win-working-class-voters-ukip).

The theory is that white working class men from the North, traditional Labour supporters, are most likely to feel threatened by immigration because immigrants are competing for the same unskilled work and are often prepared to work for lower wages. They are therefore likely to respond to the UKIP message of no immigration and to be turned off by Labour's silence on this issue. Labour has tended to accuse the Tories of racism for wanting to debate immigration, but that position has tended to mean Labour hasn't addressed the issue at all, or done enough to address the concerns of those who feel that "jobs are being stolen.

>>736 The one where he lifts his arm near his face. It's the first pic in the link - he does it all the time. He looks like a tit when he does.

The weather is gorgeous, from snow to sunshine/70s in two days! So, I've abandoned that whole productive thing and have taken up with a book and iPad at a cafe. I'm imagining that TH gave EO a goodbye shag last night and has already landed in NYC. I'm sure he'll be strolling by any moment now. He'll stop for a coffee, there won't be any tables except for mine, I'll invite him to sit, we'll fall in love and end up on a date tonight (I've brought my purse for just such an occasion)!

When the book gets boring, I read gossip sites. This was on Dlisted. Oh, Michael K, you complete me! This article makes me want the above scenario to happen with MK, not TH!

I did think he was wearing pants under the blue suit because it was riding quite high instead of escaping down his trouser leg like usual. Do we think the stylist bought them?

743 Name: Anon : 2016-03-23 22:09 ID:qAvx5iXW

>>737 Oh I see what you mean. He wasn't quite doing it in the photo you linked to as the hand was at half mast. My personal bugbear is that he never takes his hands out of his pockets.

>>740 As for the stylist.....I couldn't agree more. Who would admit to having "styled" the most boring outfit on God's earth?

And mysteriously she claims to have "styled" the blue suit - which I have just realised is the blue suit from the night manager (same colour, stitching, pocket placement, length of jacket, the lot). Do we really now "style" people to put on clothes they already own?

I can only assume that as a creature of habit he was once told by someone he respected that it looked great so he's doing it all the time forever more. I noticed it's creeping into his acting in TNM. He did it on the scene in the plane and I cringed so hard I created a permanent wrinkle.
>>743 The hands in pockets is a deliberate ploy to smooth out and detract from Little Hiddles. It also solves the issue of what to do with his hands and I'm always grateful when he's not doing the thinking man.

Or maybe it's his Jeremy Corbyn love coming through. Bernie's the American Corbyn, or Corbyn's the British Bernie - take your pick.

This is exactly what they did at TIFF.

I understand that she's not going to cop to making a five-hour plane journey for a booty call (laser tag included!). I understand that he's not going to cop to using his TNM wall sex scene as a practice round for kitchen door sex later in the year with his FWB. But don't assume that our memories are that short.

And TH's laugh in that interview is exactly like the one he gives Roper in TNM!

This interview makes me think TH may be missing a screw or two. He's still using words like 'genius' when speaking about MA and this movie. Christ.

At the very end EO talks about TH being at 'the finishing up of Marvel land.' She may just be talking twaddle, but maybe she's in the know and Thor III is the end for TH.

>>753 I wonder about him sometimes. Is he trying to talk up the movie to get people to see it? Does he view his projects through rose-colored glasses? Is he in denial? Does he just have poor judgment?

Scarlet Witch will be in Infinty War, so EO very well may already know that Loki isn't involved. I'd personally be glad to see Tom out of the Marvel universe, so hopefully Thor 3 will be the end for him.

I think the screw is loose about this particular project. Going all method, losing all that weight, falling in lurve with his Audrey (!!). I do believe he hoped for an Oscar from day 1 on set and I don't think he has let that go. He must be thinking "But I suffered! I didn't eat and you know how I love cake! I can't sing and I inflicted it on others! I must get an Oscar. Mummy, I want one!"

757 Name: Anon : 2016-03-24 09:07 ID:qAvx5iXW

The interview question about dating was whatever is the exact opposite of "going for the jugular". "Exactly how stupid were those poxy dating rumours that your people planted with the gullible tabloid press?" If EO is still riding the Hiddleconda she better be very sure the relationship is going nowhere because they are going to look very silly when they announce their engagement and forthcoming birth of baby Hank.

Totally agree about TH's nervous titter! We need a side-eyes emoji.

Hopefully, they won't talk about: yodeling, Bond, his naked bottom, possibly breaking up a co-star's engagement, British politics or Eton. Although I think they may poke fun at his bottom again. It does seem the obvious topic of late.

People may be sympathetic toward TH or MA - hell, maybe even EO - but I'm thinking of TH's father. All that money for his education, and his son finds himself: with a stylist, in a relationship that has to skitter past scandal to grow serious, and becoming increasingly known for getting his kit off on film. Does Eton do partial refunds?

She's right - we are strangers talking about something we don't really know about. And all we can do is speculate based on what's thrown into the public arena. But as Anon said >>757, the first rumors - in a quasi-legitimate magazine which she'd previously used as a mouthpiece - seemed to come from a camp.

Lizzie, I think we were asked to "really care" about your relationship - for whatever reasons. And now, we're being asked to not care - and being belittled for caring in the first place.

Yeah, me no like.

>>765 She hasn't said the speculation is untrue I notice!

But yeah, I am starting to really dislike her and her "mind your own business, losers" approach to this. They (she?) fed the beast twice (maybe three times f you count the "it's over" article) and as I have said a bazillion times before, if you want to have fun and be discreet in London it is easy to do so. A lot of famous people live here and they rarely get papped.

OT: I also dislike her "I'm not one of those fancy intellectuals, me" schtick. Not reading books is fine - I know a lot of lawyers who go home and watch the X Factor and seem to engage in no intellectual pursuits at all. Nobody's calling them thick. But don't vent your insecurity by seeking to belittle those who do read the odd book.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=us0l6pjDbp4&feature=youtu.be
The look on their faces at 2.05 sums it all up. They even had to edit that ramble.

I've obviously seen too many interviews; it's all spewing out in a scripted repetitive format lacking all spontaneity. I can't stand it when people crack the same joke word for word more than once, especially when the first time was lacklustre.

>>762 Can I add impressions to the banned list? And rambling. And ten gallon hats.

I would like to see a semblance of originality/ personality again in his interviews; that's what has been lacking of late. It's possible to be yourself without transforming into Tom Cruise on Oprah. Come on, show us a spark Hiddles!

>>767 God that was so dull. Is the Today show a breakfast show in the US? Did people have to ensure that without their morning coffee?

And we know that Rodney was gagging to enjoy 6 weeks of bromance and more, so stop this humblebrag about how nobody wants yo ass in their house.

Endure, even. The blood has stopped flowing to my typing extremities with the boredom.

This is an interesting one. I linked it above with the comment that it said it was 'official' but seemed to just be his groomer taking some BTS shots.

Now, she's said on the page that they are planning to cover the promo tour with this IG account. Is this TH's sneaky way of adding another social media feather to his cap...but not really.

She also said that the tour's six weeks long! Where the hell is he going? I guess it's going to be a mix of TNM and ISTL, perhaps some US High-Rise thrown in...but six weeks?

>>770 "The official Instagram for the adventures of Tom Hiddleston and his team as we cross this crazy world" - yes I think you are right. She wouldn't be doing her own social media featuring him without his agreement - for example Olly doesn't tend to post pics of TH.

Also, 6 weeks??? Poor bastard. And poor us. We will be totally sick of the ISTL anecdotes (to the extent we aren't already).

>>766 Well, no, because they already tried that...and it didn't work.

I think hypocrisy tends to hit most people in the gut - hard. And that's what this is: Look, notice, be interested...few months pass....no, we don't want you to look, notice, be interested. Ugh, addressing these silly rumors is so tiring for us...why did we ever start them!

It's an utterly unlikable quality.

>>767 Their faces do say it all!! He's just one of those people who cannot self-edit. It's charming sometimes - annoying others.

How ridiculous was it that in a 3-minute interview, a whole minute was taken up with a clip that runs through his IMBd page. Are they assuming so few people know about him?

>>768 It's morning telly - the target audience is people getting ready for work (and not paying attention), bored housewives after they've made the school run and...nope, that's it. And, it doesn't even have Eamonn Holmes to spice it up!

I popped over to CB to see what clickbait they made of the latest (non)denials. Nothing very exciting (she thinks EO is lying and I don't think she is terribly impressed), but I did see a link to this delightful illustration of Just How Bad that Dress Was:

>>765>>766 I don't like how she goes overboard with her "denial" and starts bashing the fans and gossip readers instead. They made it our business by first leaking it on US Weekly otherwise no one was thinking about THEO. Then the tabloids continued. And now they're acting like it's all other ppl's fault for being nosey and not theirs for starting it and continuing it. If you want to keep things on the downlow then don't tell the tabloids about it. Tom wasn't so anti fan in his supposed denial but EO goes really does overact in her denials and dismissals. Pap night included. You asked us to care and when the cheating came up and the movie flopped, now it's all our fault. If they are in a relationship, it really makes no sense to hide it like this. But if all they're doing is hooking up whenever the mood strikes well then they can't exactly come out and say we're just fucking because I don't think that'll jive well with the squeaky clean images both are trying to project in the public. Lol instead they'll blame the same people who they were targeting to carry their tabloid rumor and make them talk of the town.

>>774 That dress was all sorts of wardrobe malfunction in the hi def pics. You could not only see thru the dress but thru the bra as well and clearly make out the shape and size and color of nips and bits. If you catch my drift. Innocent or for someone or something's benefit who knows.

My, you've all been busy! This is the first chance I've had to peek in at work today.

>>768 Yes, the Today pill, I mean Show, is a tranquilizer for unsuspecting humans. It sucks. I recorded it but really it's gotten to where I dread his press tour interviews for all the reason you've all written out above, no need to repeat. Sycophant is not a good look on you, TH. Surely he can find something original to say about ISTL and country music besides what he keeps repeating.

>>777 The original things I want him to say about ISTL:

1) The movie is shit and I made a mistake.
2) I'm banging EO on the down low. What of it?

782 Name: NewAnon : 2016-03-24 21:26 ID:Xfxv9xZA

I might be in the minority but after seeing the ISTL premiere's live footage, I don't think TH and EO are even banging anymore. However much they were getting it on, I think it died down after Hawaii. But that's just me, I could be wrong.

>>782 EO hates you for caring. LOL.

I didn't watch the footage so I don't know. It can present a totally different impression from still pictures. But whatever your view, that's cool. The best thing about being around here is that there is no party line. Having read lots of vitriolic CB threads and crazy tumblr exchanges I can't say often enough how important that is. FWIW I am pretty sure anonsy agrees with you!

Anyhow it will be interesting to see how this pans out once they aren't spending a lot of time together publicising the movie, or filming on the same continent. Or (if you're cynical) once they have no project to shill with some dodgy relationship-related clickbait. She has certainly painted herself into a corner with her comments over the last few days - as Anon. said, nobody likes a hypocrite. Or a liar. How do they either use the relationship for publicity, or even admit its existence, now?

>>781 Yes! Maybe one day in his memoirs.
>>782>>783 I can't decide. I've had FWB relationships that went 6 months between sex...and once it was that far apart I was like 'meh' and ended it. Maybe it was a shorter interval with them?

>>781 I don't put all my faith in Rotten Tomatoes (Con Air - only 54%!), but it's a fairly accurate measure of movies. ISTL is now at 19%. Gods of Egypt is at 13%. This movie is only 6% better than Gods of Egypt. And yet, he's out there like a true company man, spreading the gospel. It must be so hard for him to let the dream die.

And, I think he's coming your way with it, Anon. I think he may well push the corpse out in the UK!!

Whatever they had, whether they still have it - we're not meant to care, and we're not meant to talk about it. Otherwise, EO will send her sisters after us; they'll suck out our souls and use them to construct awful clothes.

That having been said, I wouldn't be surprised if they rock up together again. I also wouldn't be surprised if they're never in the same room again.

There was a screening tonight. Wrenn Schmidt is wearing Self-Portrait. I actually have this dress - I like their stuff a lot. I think girl paid for this dress herself - it wasn't lent to her, it wasn't a freebie. And she probably styled herself. WS is all of us!

TH seems to be going for old-school British gent: double-breasted waistcoat, tie clip, pocket square...where's the pocket watch? I'll give it a thumbs-up.

>>783 that's exactly why I love this board and keep coming on here. No one attacks you for your opinion and everyone has a good laugh! On EO painting herself into a corner, yeah if whatever they have turns serious it'll be fun to volley those questions :P

>>785 anon hifive and if we're wrong it's okay we'll just do shots everytime EO hides her face behind her bag and wails out for Tom.

>>788 is that how EO ended up with her seemingly eternal curse of bag clothes? Don't make the twins mad! >>789 There weren't too many pics of Wrenn from the Nashville premiere so I'm glad to see she's getting the spotlight at the NY premiere. She looks really cute!

>>789 I love the look. Don't remember seeing a waistcoat quite like that one anywhere.

I saw an IG comment that he smelled really good; I've heard that before from some of the fans. Are we ever gonna find out what he wears? Is it something high-end like Clive Christian, or is it bespoke and we'll never know the formula?

Someone asked the new stylist, in one of the comments on her IG , if they can get an address to send a basket to her as thanks for dressing him so nicely. ....

>>792 Don't do it, Stylist! Don't tell them! They'll show up at your house!!!

794 Name: Anon : 2016-03-25 08:59 ID:qAvx5iXW

>>791 Yeah, I give it to her for this look. It's great. The waistcoat is what I'd call a very traditional old-fashioned English, Savile Row style. Love to know who it's by.

Not sending a fruit basket just yet! Torrilla's pics of the Today suit show that it as shiny and didn't fit over his new muscle manboobs. Also that he was wearing a shiny satin tie. My dad used to wear those in the 70s and it was not a good look then.

Some have said he smells citrussy. If that's right my guess is something simple and easily available (shopping issues!) like Jo Malone lime basil mandarin.

OT: The most loved men's cologne ever is Creed Aventus. A friend from work wears it and women ask him all the time what it is. I have seen strangers ask him in the street. I bought my hubs a bottle (he never wears it!) and one time I wore it on a whim for a night out. When I got into the cab the taxi driver said "God, you smell beautiful" and started hitting on me! (This never happens). I have wondered if TH wears it given that everyone says he smells amazing. I ah e decided not as someone would have just jumped him by now. The combination of him and Creed would be too much!

I thought he wore Farenheit by Dior. It was during while he was shooting CP and meeting fans and someone asked and his assistant on set mentioned it was Farenheit. I've sniffed it once when I was in Sephora and it was a very clean crisp scent. Even if you put on too much, it doesn't overpower.

>>795 I hadn't heard that. I will go sniff next time I am in Selfridges.

After a bit of googling around, I found this tumblr post:
http://witheyeslikestars.tumblr.com/post/69871494041/

Summary: the two scents people usually mention Tom possibly wearing are Farenheit by Dior and Armani Code. The above tumblr poster met Tom, smelled both colognes at a later date, and settled on the Armani. But - a lot of people do change his scent depending on the event or season, so it's very possible he uses both.

One of us is going to have to find him and smell him. For science.
