Seems that suit is by Ralph Lauren. How big is his entourage now? The cheeseboard personnel seems to be different from the stylist and I count at least 4 hangers on (sorry, helpers) in their pics. Here is the stylist. She also styles Ben Affleck, whom I hate: https://www.instagram.com/ilariaurbinati/

>>800 I didn't watch live last night. However, he may have been bumped to a later date as he's not on the most recent upload. Here is the site, it will be there once the segment airs. Let's be honest - they're probably still editing it down! http://www.charlierose.com

>>799 Nope. We need:

  1. 'Would SW and Loki be FWBs or more FBs?"
  2. 'If SW and Loki were to join forces professionally, could that collaboration bled into a more personal relationship?'
  3. 'Would SW fly to Hawaii just to play laser tag with Loki, or would something else need to be on offer?'
  4. 'Is Loki the sort of villain who'd break up an engagement?'

And they call themselves journalists! To paraphrase Sir Winston: Give me a press pass, and I'll do the job.'

>>794 Maybe part of being a 'top stylist' is knowing how fabric 'shows' on different mediums. It was a shuper shiny shuit in pics - but didn't look it on the tv interviews he did that day.

Also, maybe he just really wanted to emphasize his man-boobs!

OT: Aventus was worn (I asked about 2 minutes after meeting him!) by a dashing middle-aged man I knew at the Foreign Office. Our teams would have mtgs together two times a month - and I so looked forward to them! He always smelled of pineapples and moss and MAN! Heart-eyes.

>>809 I saw a pic that showed his shoes with the shuper shiny shuit. They were a dove grey suede. They were cute. I wonder if he will now wear a different outfit for every appearance.

But who are all the other people in the team? I still want to know what they contribute. God, it must be expensive being an up and coming movie star to drag around all those people.

>>794 >>809 Now that I've read such rave reviews from you, ladies, I really need to try Aventus. OT, but I'm a bit of a parfumaniac myself, and I've been ignoring Creed entirely because ugly bottles (along with Bond No 9 for the same reason). Guess I'll have to apologise to them.

>>811 The red head is the groomer. The African American woman is PR - she was with him during CP. I have no idea who the dark haired woman is - maybe the PR woman's assistant? Maybe a back-up groomer (heaven forbid his hair loose height!). And we all know Olly - TH's lady maid.

I think of Dylan Moran on Jonathan Ross - donkeys ago. JR asked him if someone helped him with his style. DM - who looked like he usually does - a mess! - said, something along the lines of 'This look doesn't just happen. This represents the work of a small team of Italian craftsmen.'

>>812 >>816 It appeared to work on me. It seems not to be one of those perfumes that smells different on different people (maybe because it's so dear - sigh). Aventus is way better than any of Creed's ladyperfumes and it smells suitably unisex.

Oh, yeah, they's iz pushing this. Screening in Chicago with Q/A after with MA and TH. He's also done radio interviews today. And he and WS will be at an Apple store - I think in Midtown, although there are about a dozen in Midtown - to do a Q/A.

Maybe Anonon - who I think may be our resident showbiz expert - can shed some light on whether this is still standard fair for promo. Or maybe Whatsinaname, who also seems to be in-the-know.

Maybe SPC is pushing so hard because they want to earn their money back - not for awards.

>>820 Yep, SPC are giving it a fair-ish chance. Aint-it-cool-news has always had a lot of pull with the geek crowd. Comic book movies, action movies, horror movies, sci-fi movies, remakes of comic book, action, horror, and sci-fi movies - you get the idea. (Just go to the link in >>820 and look at the topics on the right sidebar.) Harry, the geek guy who runs it, gets into advanced screenings all the time. His positive reviews about an early cut of a movie really matter to the movie producers. So they'll get him to announce these free ticket event promos for many movie openings.

But this genre? A biopic about a long-dead country singer? This is different and worth noting. I'm guessing they were approached by SPC in case any Marvel fans might be interested in seeing Loki and Scarlet Witch to drum up positive vibes wherever they can. Aint-it-cool-news was always independent, so I'd be surprised to learn that he'd signed a contract with SPC or some middleman/arm of Sony's PR dept. to promote their movies no matter what the movie was.

New shoes (I like!), new grey polo, meh.
>>820 I can shed no light on PR or promo, I'm in the biz on set only (and some pre- production) in the trade that is supposed to make faces match necks and hands.
I agree with >>830 that they aren't sweeping this under the rug. Given that the official reason for delaying the release was TH's availability for promotion, he has to promote the shit out of this to legitimise the delay.
They are certainly not shying away from questions relating to marvel/ marvel fantasy hookups, or for that matter questions relating to their own hookup, both of which are guaranteed clickbait and completely off topic.

http://www.bustle.com/articles/149937-elizabeth-olsen-reveals-the-perils-of-fame-how-she-transformed-into-the-woman-behind-hank
This article confuses me.
Aren't Bustle responsible for all the annoying gushing pro TH fluff that have occasionally been mistaken for journalism? I always wondered if they were backed by his PR. Now they're going to his press conferences and conducting hotel room interviews?
'when I bring up her IMPECCABLE FASHION SENSE (my olive green sweater is embarrassingly uncool compared to her V-neck cut-out dress and large statement necklace)'.
Ha! The low cut V- neck with side boob straddled by King Kong's fingernail was true!

>>832 All I know about Bustle is from an article about its slightly controversial startup. It does have a staff of permanent writers/editors, but no editor-in-chief. Also, a number of its contributions come from freelance 'authors' - think, underpaid interns. These 'authors' are the ones who tend to write the laughable (TH) articles. Some are little more than a series of tumblr gifs with captions. I would imagine, therefore, that this is a permanent writer who has enough pull to get a quick sit-down with EO. Bustle does get a lot of hits and has established itself as a 'feminist' online mag, so getting a quick sit-down wouldn't be too hard.

Why did she need to put her jacket on for an indoor interview?

838 Name: NewAnon : 2016-03-26 03:55 ID:Xfxv9xZA

Yeah there's nothing spectacular or sizzle worthy chemistry when you watch the video. It's below the usual cuddles and flirting and hugging TH normally does with his costars. That's why I figured whatever they had is gone. OR if Anon's theory is right then the less physical interaction Tom has with a female, the more likely it is that he's banging her! Or maybe he's just scared that if he squeezes her in a hug the twins will pop out of her dress. By twins I mean her sisters. Not the other set of twins that are already winking at us.

839 Name: anonsy : 2016-03-26 04:13 ID:V6C+Feoq

>>838 I feel like his behavior here falls somewhere in the middle of his usual red carpet spectrum - not as comfortable as when he's with Jessica Chastain or Tilda Swinton, but a little more friendly/familiar than the ladies from High Rise, for example. Even the Nashville premiere was within his usual interactions - I think the reason it seemed so over the top was because of the stiff awkwardness we saw at TIFF.

840 Name: NewAnon : 2016-03-26 05:06 ID:Xfxv9xZA

>>839 Most likely. Though I will go on record and say I did side eye EO at Nashville because she seemed to be copying Chastain from the CP premiere. I'm definitely guilty of over analyzing because I did compare the LA premiere to the NY one and to me TH appeared more warm and friendly with Wrenn than he did with EO.

841 Name: anonsy : 2016-03-26 05:27 ID:V6C+Feoq

>>840 I wonder how much all the gossip affects their interactions. It has to at least cross their minds that their behavior is going to be analyzed. I think that was part of the reason they seemed so awkward at TIFF - it was the first time they were publicly together since Pursegate, and they had obviously decided to put forth a "we are not dating" vibe, regardless of what their relationship actually was. So yes, I agree that he did seem more comfortable with Wrenn, but they don't have "careful where you put your hands, people think we're together" running through their heads.

842 Name: NewAnon : 2016-03-26 05:39 ID:Xfxv9xZA

>>841 I'm sure it's on their mind and dictating a lot of their behavior. But I mean they did leak and tease the initial rumor to get people to wonder about "are they or are they not" so it's part of the monster they created. No one was really thinking it before. Not saying TH and EO deserve abuse or anything vicious over it but if you're going to tease and leak rumors like that, they end up taking on a life of their own and you have weather the fallout. And their ambiguous denials just help the shippers and haters from perpetuating those rumors. Yay gossip and celebrities lol

The Charlie Rose interview did air but they haven't posted it yet on either youtube or their site. I'm afraid to even watch it. I don't know if I can watch him be so heartfelt anymore. It's like when new parents coo over their infant's dirty nappy.

The movie's now at 14% on RT. I'm going to have to buy a ticket for another movie and then go into this one. I'm such a bad fan (self fan shaming).

846 Name: Anon. : 2016-03-26 11:46 ID:teXrXidl

>>844 Goodness, talk about perpetuating the talk. People are going to keep asking him about Bond - he needs to come up with better answers than what I've heard so far. And he needs to ditch the 'awww shucks' way of answering it. When an interviewer on the RC suggested he could make a good Bond, TH actually blessed him for saying it. If he wants to be Bond (I think he does), well, Bond doesn't bless people.

Stock answer: 'Listen (shows a Bond-like forcefulness), if you're British, wear suits and have a penis, you're going to be linked to Bond. I'm British, I wear suits and I have a penis - just ask the co-star of my latest movie, she's seen it (shows Bond-like alley cat morals). So while the talk is flattering, it's just talk, nothing more.' (And then DON'T babble on about how much you liked Bond when you were in short pants!)

Or

'If I had been Bond, Judi Dench's M would still be alive.'

847 Name: Anon : 2016-03-26 12:06 ID:qAvx5iXW

>>846 He wants it. That's the problem. His little face lights up whenever anyone suggests it. He is obviously thrilled to be mentioned in the same sentence as Bond and I don't begrudge him that especially while he's flogging the ISTL dead horse and seeing his dreams of Oscar glory crumble.

But I agree that his puppyish enthusiasm isn't screaming "Bond." Neither, from my perspective, is the publicity given to his ever-increasing entourage, which is making my ladyparts shrivel. Does Bond travel with a groomer (ugh)? I know he always travelled with a makeup lady and the Lady's Maid, so the image I had of him as a low(ish) maintenance guy was to a degree an illusion. But even last summer he seems to have dealt with the new clothes problem by going to his local Reiss (there is one in Hampstead) and doing a supermarket sweep. ("V neck tees? Ooh yes I will have 6 please!"). It was endearing. Carefully curated Italian cashmere polo shirts - a lot less so.

>>847 For the first time in a long time, he didn't wear his boots with casual clothes. He wore those dove grey shoes. I know we made fun of him for his lack of new clothes and those boots - but there was a nonchalance about it that was appealing and manly. Perhaps I'm being too fickle.

I like the grey shoes and I am not sad to see the boots being given a rest. They snuck in a couple of days ago with the other polo shirt.

I was thinking back to Cannes - on that day there was no grooming because he travelled overnight by some weird route as there was a strike or something. He was pictured arriving in the blue suit with wet hair - I think he showered and changed at the airport and went straight to the photocall. He looked great. Nuff said.

>>870 I've paid that much for a dress (not the wedding dress). It's much nicer than a polo shirt and has seen me through 7 years, and if I maintain my weight, I'll be buried in that dress. Even if you have the money, that is too much for a shirt.

Was is Anonon who said she didn't want singing? Sorry, sister. It looks less cringe-tastic because Colbert is joining along, but....

The Charlie Rose interview is up. The hat makes a second appearance. I may hate that hat. I imagine he might have worn it when sexing up his co-star. Yep, try to get that out of your head.

Colbert wasn't as cringe-worthy as expected. TH's has a new nickname - Spoonman...

Second series of TNM confirmed.

Singing, more hats and spoons.
I will watch both these interviews squinting through one eye when drunk.

>>870 That's what happens when you get a stylist- suddenly your cheap cotton v- necks are replaced by ludicrously priced cashmere. Such a shame, with the help of his sunglasses they were almost sinking to his navel

>>873 I am impressed that Charlie Rose is available internationally! Way to go, Charlie! Other thoughts:

1) Earnest men sitting round a table mansplaining Hank Williams.
2) Tom's face when MA got the mic and went on for a while!
3) MA has made a move about HW and he says he still doesn't know why HW wrote the songs he did and was a genius. This explains a lot about how poor the movie was. We come to you for guidance, Marc. You lived with and were passionate about this man's life for god knows how many years and when people ask what made him tick you just shrug?
4) Moment of unintentional hilarity for Brits. Clip of TH as HW drinking from teeny weeny bottle of American beer. Charlie [Serious Voice]: "He had an addiction." British people: pfffffffffhhhhhh!
5) Impressed by CR generally. I watched the whole thing. In Britain we have crap like Graham Norton or serious stuff like Newsnight. There's nothing for those who drool over TH but still have some higher brain activity.

>>876 Put into context: apparently the blue Alexander McQueen suit was $1600. Also, he has 2 of these polo tops, one in navy and one in grey. I would give anything to have been a fly on the wall when the stylist was explaining why he needed to spend $2400 on knitwear. I do hope she got him a discount.

Don't worry, I think he will ruin the cashmere by stretching it. You can't keep a good man down. London has a terrible epidemic of clothes moths. I don't give much for its chances.

>>876 Call me a cynic but they knew this was on the cards from day 1 didn't they, given that [SPOILER] they changed the ending from the book?

>>878 I highly doubt TH has paid for many of his clothes over the last few years. He has clearly been sponsored by labels and most likely had a stylist who chose his capsule wardrobe. It's only now that he has a high profile stylist who is leveraging her own profile from the collaboration that we are finally becoming aware.
I must say, the bi- annual tennis parade has become somewhat of a cheesy advertisement, on par with strategically placed coke bottles in movies. Wearing Lauren in the Lauren stadium and posing backstage in the Lauren marquee. What a shock he is wearing so much Lauren on this tour!
>>879 Absolutely, I cynic with you.
The only chance this series had of not reappearing was if it completely bombed. I guess the level of AMC re-investment rides on the ratings in the States. Since it's returning to our screens this time next year they will have to shoot it soon after Raganork.

Did he play the spoons? That scene in Archipelago was almost worth sitting through Archipelago.

>>880 I am sure he hasn't paid for his suits and all those dinner jackets. I also never thought in a million years he chose the RL sweaters he's been seen in over the last 6 months so someone has been helping. But I bet he paid for and chose a lot of his casual wardrobe up to TIFF. A lot of it seemed to come from Reiss and there was so little of it and it was all pretty cheap stuff. I thought it looked authentically chaotic!

>>877 Charlie Rose is the good stuff when it comes to interviews.

Yes, our version of drinking beer is sad compared to, well, the world. Skinny bottles of piss water, really.

>>881 He really played spoons, yes. I'm on my phone and can't link; Torrilla probably has it by now.

>>876 I always side-eye the second series of a tv show. Broadchurch was brilliant; Broachchurch 2.0 - not so much.

No confirmation of who will come back. Burr seems to be likely (after maternity leave). Maybe Steadman? So much can go wrong with TNM2: Roper gets off, but has suffered amnesia at the hands of the Egyptians; this then allows Pine to just do exactly what he did before but in ever so slightly changed circumstances.

I'm assuming that if TH returns (Working Title: No Longer a Night Manager) that his arse will also make a return. Maybe he'll go undercover as a male stripper to bring down an all-female gang of drug traffickers.

>>880 I've wondered about how designers 'lend' to male stars. For women it is a case of lending just for the occasion, as they likely won't wear it again. I remember EO standing in the rain at TIFF and worrying about that terrible dress and saying, 'I don't own this dress!'

Is the same the case for men? Do they have to return them after wearing, or do they get a deal for a little advertisement and get to keep them?

>>882 I think the treble RL at Wimb, last year may have been the first time TH aligned himself with a designer. The RL account tweeted about it, and he took pics as Anonon said; I don't know if we've seen that sort of advertisement before (I could be wrong!). I feel the Reiss stuff might have jut been TH...maybe Luke too!

Hopefully he hasn't paid the full price of $2400 for 2 polo shirts!

This is the tweet of the IG pic Whatsinaname posted last night. It actually has two/three pics and the caption's hilarious - as is his reaction to what she says.

>>885 I've noticed he's been wearing (under)pants a lot more recently. (Confirmed by the position of the junk and the waistband peeking out). This makes me think the recent suits are on loan. You don't go commando in another man's fatigues.

Other designer items I assume he got a discount for, or he snaffled from set. We remarked on Pine wearing TH's clothes but I wonder if it was the other way around. The costume department buys for his character and he kept some of it (eg the bright blue McQueen suit). Though saying that, some does seem to have been his - such as the hiking boots in ep2, which looked very like the ones he wore on his UNICEF trip.

It is all very interesting!

PS EO chose to borrow that dress? Words fail me.

>>884 OT: I hated Broadchurch season 2. The legal stuff was laughably inaccurate (http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-01-14/broadchurch-legal-what-does-a-real-criminal-barrister-think-of-the-court-drama). The interesting thing is that such inaccuracies seem to have made it "feel" wrong and implausible even for those who aren't from that world.

>>880 PS The previous time he was at Wimbledon (with the JArthy!) he was wearing the blue Reiss suit. My recollection is that last summer was his first association with RL. I think RL has a hospitality tent at Wimbledon (in common with other sponsors like Veuve a liquor) but Centre Court is Centre Court - there isn't enough money in the world to get the Lawn Tennis Association to rename it the RL stadium!! So maybe not a totally obvious product placement.

Talks about Shit Island (apparently it has a trailer - Comic-Con, anyone?), shoehorns in The Work by answering a question the interviewer didn't really ask, rubbishes Sherlock rumors and says that the wall sex scene was 'an integral part of the narrative' - it really wasn't, but we liked it, Tom!

I loved the Colbert interview. Finally some endearing spark and originality in amongst the scripted claptrap.

>>882 Nothing screams casual as much as that fan photo taken on the Gold Coast with at least two gaping holes in his wardrobe. He wasn't even jogging. I can't help but wonder if his natural inclination is to imitate a hobo and he has always needed a helping hand to coordinate chaotic casual.
>>885 He was aligned with Armani before RL and has been courting McQueen on the red carpet. McQueen plugged his recent appearance so I imagine they are on board as well.
>>884 I hope you pen the next script
>>885 >>887 Clothes are borrowed by stylists for photo shoots and RC appearances but sponsorship deals like RL mean that he has full access to their range in exchange for flogging it. It's extremely unusual for actors to use items from their own wardrobe on film sets- maybe for a fleeting scene, but panic sets in if pickups are required. Actors are sometimes gifted items or can purchase them at a reduced rate once production ends.
>>889 My bad about stadium sponsorship but he was most definitely a walking billboard that day:
