I preferred the thread title as it was in Part 5 over the shorter version in Part 6, and so I decided to copy the style of the former. May this THREAD Restoration usher in a new era of peace, prosperity, progress and posts about current thoughts for /dqn/!

Not as bad as Wales. They have a food called "Welsh rarebit". It's basically cheese on toast and it contains no "rarebit" (which isn't even a real world) nor rabbit. And top it all off, it isn't even Welsh!
I think Wales is a silly name for a country.
>>302
It's not like they knew whales and wails were going to be modern English words. Leave them alone.

Oh I see. Do you know of a guide to making such a heliostat? I've been googling various forms of how to make a DIY heliostat from old CDs and found nothing.
Fuck manliness, it's time for fairies.
Being proud of liking non-masculine things is manly as hell
I'm a big manly man with enough muscles in my arm to use it as a nutcracker on kittens. Which I do, quite often.
Let's think less and feel more. Oh, alcohol. Your charm is dangerous, isn't it?
Lewdness gets really old.
Waking up with headaches (for no reason) is awful. Ahh!
My friend read all the scripts to Red Dwarf before he ever botehred watching a single episode. He was terribly disappointed by the low production values of the show and choice of actors portraying the roles. So basically, he enjoyed reading the series rather than actually watching it.
It got me thinking. So much of anime is just dead air: people walking down a street, staring out a window, people locked in battle, opening and closing credits, and other wastes of time. If a series were deconstructed back into story boards, an episode might take five minutes or less to read instead of watching it for a half hour.
Let's be honest. I think a lot of us are only watching this stuff to be remain part of "the culture" anyway. Why not free up our valuable time for more depressing things? Never mind, I just figured it out.
I'm falling in love with a certain popular shonen. This can't be good.
>>314
Good idea with the story boards. I'm sure no one's thought of selling those in Japan before :-)
>>314
But the whole point of Red Dwarf (and where most of its humour derived from) was the characters interacting with each other. And Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, etc. did a great job at that. Hell, the good casting choices couldn't be more obvious with Holly. When Norman Lovett quit and Hattie Hayridge took over with the same lines intended for him, Holly lost his charm.
Your friend is stupid and he should just read books.
>I think a lot of us are only watching this stuff to be remain part of "the culture" anyway.
I object, sir. I watch anime for cute things.
>>314
Read manga, then. Almost the same as storyboards. Or go straight for the light novels.
Star Wars could be cut down to ten minutes, easily. We don't meet Luke until about ten minutes in which is dumb. Then there's all the meeting people and character interaction, a.k.a. boring filler. What should happen:
Let's be honest here, most works of fiction, books, movies, or anime, could all have their plots heavily condensed. If you are getting bored of all the padding you should probably take a break from consuming media of that type.
>>321
Yup. See http://rinkworks.com/bookaminute/ and http://rinkworks.com/movieaminute/ for some extreme examples.
Could we condense DQN?

[Overdone] ITT the previous poster toasts ships [SJIS emoticons] [Kopipe] [Part 9001] (998)
>>324
If that's actually what you think of it, then you shouldn't even be here.
>>323
Instant DQN! Just add water! (shouldn't this be in /food/, though?)
>>314
watch subbed animu at 2x speed as a time saver when you don't want to savor the flavor
most people can read faster than they can listen
>>314 I like anime but I'd hate to think of myself as part of "the culture", I keep it a secret and stay away from forums etc and try to stay ignorant of it all, finding anime I like purely by chance or linked from ones I enjoy
>>328
This. In fact, I recommend this for anything. Every fanbase is awful and everyone has strong opinions. The day I stopped reading reviews and blogs and forums was the day I learned to enjoy things a lot more. It's quite astounding how many anime I've liked but most people hated, or films the critics loved but I thought were awful.
I know that at least one person reading this is living their lives by Rotten Tomato scores or what some forum thinks, even if they don't realize it. Accept nothing but factual data, and only then will you achieve satori.
>>329
Hunh. That's a pretty good way to think about it.
Naruto is still awful though.
>>329
I came to this realization about video games a while ago. A lot of people seem to judge games in terms of other games and then reason along the lines of "This is not like my FAVORITE GAME in aspect X, so it's a CRAPPY GAME." e.g. "bad controls" sometimes actually means "you have to be willing to get used to how it controls before you can enjoy it, because it's a bit different from <popular game that is similar, superficially or otherwise>."
>>331
What's funny is, a lot of the same artists are still going and making great music, but people don't care so much.
Props to the Pet Shop Boys fans in whichever thread it was. Perfect example.
Cogs and gears look pretty.
Ex says she lost my Touhou shirt. See her tagged in a few pictures. She's wearing my god damn shirt.
This is incredibly childish.
The Elitist Superstructure is not being elitist enough.

On principle I never post in shitty threads (hence why I'm responding in this thread) but I absolutely must agree with you. I don't come here to read about other people's everyday lives, nor do I particularly feel the need to tell everyone about mine. I think that, somewhat like the shitposting thread, people just post in it because it's there. It doesn't actually reduce the number of blog/shit posts in other threads because they wouldn't have been prompted to post it otherwise.
Instead, of course, the newbies get the idea that this is what they're supposed to be posting, and DQN comes one step closer to 4chan. Nonetheless, I'm well aware that this post probably won't solve a damned thing. The best solution is, of course, to make a significant number of good posts in order to offset the shitty ones.
>>340
The funny thing is that world2ch already has the same thread and they do it much better. People who want to blog about their lives should just do it there: http://world2ch.org/board/kareha.pl/1321792296/
>>340
this is a shitty thread encouraging shitposts too. it's just an establishment by now.
>>342
What the fuck sort of response is that?
SAoVQ has a LOL HAPPY THINGS VIPPERS xDD thread, so we shouldn't post them here!
And I hear /lounge/ has a current thoughts thread, why are you fags here instead?
Fucking faggot.
>>342
world2ch died when a certain few underage tripfags decided they fit in.
>>345
Archduke was the first person on the site after Klang. Your argument is invalid.
I wish everyone would just fuck off and die.
(;LDM)Guys guys! Why can't we all just be friends? Why can't things just go back to the way they were before? Remember when we were children, in the summer, with blue popsicles and hanabi? So we should all get along and be happy onegai!
>>350
Shut the fuck up you fucking weeaboo.
Oh I know four words of Japanese and have a text file of 2channel emoticons! Better shoehorn those into all my posts!
Stop being angry...
I miss the old DQN. Back before people from 4chan posted, back before people trolled, back before people got mad. I remember when Shii, squeeks, halcy, MrVacBob, anon, and all of the other big names in the textboard scene used to come and chill here with us. What happened? Where has our former glory gone? Why did our gods leave us here in this wasteland of quality?
>the textboard scene
>What happened?
Do you even love me?
Goddamnit, that should have been platypodes. Oh well, too late now.
I find that quality ebbs and flows. Just go with it and try not to get too nostalgic.
> Back before people from 4chan posted
> Shii, squeeks, halcy, MrVacBob, anon,
Herp derp.
And god forbid people from 4chan are posting on a 50% 4chan spin-off site.
I always thought of this place as more of a Something Awful spinoff site, myself.
I misread "Train Man" for "mantrain".
BUGS BUGS BUGS BUGS BUGHS AAAAAAAAAAAA
I'm not even high and the style of the 7th episode of Katagatari is really fucking with me.
Katanagatari*
I can't get drunk anywhere without her inviting herself and expecting me to care of her all god damn night because she can't handle a little vodka.
I wonder how long that cp will stay on the front page of SaoVQ.
What's the weather like up there, Andrew-kun?
NIHONGO TIME BITCHES
I love you.
Getting drunk and talking to your long-distance girlfriend who is also drunk is pretty awesome.
I am going to Seaworld today.

Funerals don't come cheap, you know. His family has to save up first.
YEAH!
I loves moths so much. Butterflies as well.
The pattern continues forever under the bathmats as well.
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
My lover is hogging the bandwidth, but I'm sure he's thinking the same about me.
I wonder if you could autotune a C64 chiptune until it sounds like Hatsune Miku played through a cheapass tinny speaker.
The Sanxion theme is stuck in my head.
I can hardly wait for my Monday cake.
Cake cake cake cake where's my cake.
Monday cake, Monday cake, wherefore art thou Monday cake...
I do believe this is a 400GET.
