I liked 1Q84 but it feels more like it's trying to be the kind of murakami that sells books than it is trying to be literature. I enjoyed it. The kind of murakami that sells books isn't so bad, and i'm a sucker for drawn out romance. I also was really isolated when i read it and i think that made it more relatable.
