That is weird. I wouldn't want to work for a place like that anyways.
I don't have favorites. The question "What is you're favorite" is bad. The question "What is something that you really like and I probably haven't heard of" is good. I get paid to do this. That is why I am qualified to tell you this.
You know it's true when they start with "It's only logical." You know it's "false" when they put a word in quotes.
Banana and sprinkles and popping candy and syrup pancakes for lunch. My inner 5-year-old girl is delighted.
Calling it the "Internet hate machine" is even sillier in retrospect; we've had much bigger, much more fitting examples around for a long time.
On the other hand, she is biologically female.
I've lost my way. Then again, maybe this is the way. Or maybe the way was inside me all along. Or maybe I'm inside the way. The way the way is, there is no way anyone would know.
If you ain't John, I'm gone.
Not that I want it to be. Not that I don't want it to be. Not that I want. Not that I have desires or needs. Not that I have anything. Not that I exist. Not that there ever was an I. Not that there ever was anything. Not that there ever was nothing. Not that that that.
Look Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly and take a chill pill.
Dear Dr. Win,
Thanks!
Thanks,
William Tumlin

In honour of our beloved admin, I've started watching Battle Programmer Shirase. It's great fun, but at the same time it does make me feel that cute imouto-shaped hole in my life all the more acutely.

Do you think I could make a living making indie games? I'm starting to loathe my job.
I don't give a fuck about David Bowie
>>768
I thought this once. Conclusion: Do it on the side instead, and see what happens. Become a freelancer or part-timer so you have more free time.
Otherwise:
Failed game => a year+ of no-income downtime and not much to show for it.
Successful game => a year+ of no-income downtime for something that might just let you break even.
Splenda is the superior artificial sweetener for coffee. Check my trash bin, it's filled with empty Splenda envelopes.
>>770
Yeah I was thinking that doing games on the side was the more sensible choice. But I'm in no position to do freelancing, I guess I'll have to endure full-time jobs.
>>768
You'll need to make a bunch of games. For your first few, think of them as learning experiences. If they sell well, great! Otherwise, getting the experience of making, finishing, selling and advertising will eventually get you to living off your work.
Get to 10+ games, and if you have any talent & skill for it, one or two might be hits.
It ain't easy, and there's a lot of competition out there.
>>772
I'm buy your games unless they're something I'm principally opposed to. Even if they're pure shit.
>>768
If you want to make a lot of money, just buy low and sell high. It's so easy!
>>768
Of course, you don't even really have to make games, just pretend to and be increasingly elitist about it and people will just give you money.
>>774
That's... actually pretty comforting. I won't let you down!
Check this place in like... 6 months.
>>777
I am not >>774 but I feel the same way. I will wholeheartedly support a fellow DQN's effort.
Also, a bit of advice...I've been in the "working a full-time job so don't have time or energy to work on other projects" situation before and the trick is you just have to REALLY WANT IT. Like want it really badly. Only then will you be able to put in the effort like staying up to 3am working on something even though you have to get up for work at 6am.
>>777
I am not >>774 but I feel the same way. I will wholeheartedly support a fellow DQN's effort, so go for it!
And a bit of advice...I've been in the "working a full-time job so I don't have time or energy to work on other projects" situation before. The thing is, you have to really want it. You have to just desire it really badly. Once you want it badly enough, you'll magically have the energy to stay up to 3am working on it even though you have to get up for work in three hours. And then you'll go through periods of not wanting it as much, and if you just can't manage to get your burning desire back, maybe it's just not for you. But if you can manage to fight through those times, it will be worth it.
So go live your dreams, >>768! I believe in you!

I'm going to make a game. After I learn to draw and get back into making music. Yes this will happen.

Just a reminder: frogs are carnivorous. For example, many of them like to eat duck's liver paste.

I didn't know frogs were such fine eaters, eating all that foie gras.

What will happen if I don't? I read it, and didn't click the agree button. Does this mean I'm free from the botnet forever?! Not that I believe them.

Whoever flooded ">>73 is kind of a butthead" thread is kinda lame. It reach the critical >>998,999 posts in a day or two, and it could have been used in a much better way!
E.g. >>998 sneaking away into a new thread as it happened times and times again, or he could've been finally caught and beaten for all his crimes against the humanity, and me and you, reader. But alas, the thread ended in a hypothetical fart.
It's not evil, just disappointing. Sure, if part 2 of the thread will exist I'll post ">># steals last posts in interesting threads to ruin them." or ">># steals prepared responses from other posters." if I found the first message already there.
All in all, I suppose this makes the guy who finished last thread... kind of a butthead.
Just sayin'
In Germany, it's very un-PC to answer any yes/no question with "jawohl".
I saw 998 available and refreshed a couple of times to see if anyone else was going to post, then typed in the first dumb thing to come into my head. Since I started the thread, I felt obliged to almost finish it.
Don't know who capped it off with Punctual Gomez, but I salute him.

They are pretty got at the whole gooby thing, I have to admit.

It was obviously done by Punctual Gomez, who else might be this punctual?

So, I went to 4chan today. Apparently Hiroyuki cares about furries. It looks like he is throwing all the kinks he enjoys into /trash/. This way those threads aren't washed away within minutes by whatever /b/ is doing these days, but kindle for days.

None of these things are Hiroyuki's ideas, he doesn't have the English communication skills to stop mods from doing stupid things like that so it's essentially the inmates running the asylum at this poing.

Yeah, you do it little by little. Don't look down on yourself.

It has a nice purpose to it, I would work more if they let me jack off at my desk.
I am completely honest about everything all of the time.
How do I refer to my gonads and scrotum as a single object now that the plural "balls" is technically incorrect? It sounds weird to tell someone "suck my ball, dude!"
>>847 For me it is, but not in a general linguistic sense, no.
>>846,848
I feel for you. I hope this was the worst you have to go through.
Try avoiding it by referring to your penis. Phil Fish, former indie game creator, drama queen, has a good quote, "Suck my dick. Choke on it." This way it won't sound weird or remind you of better days.
Kids sucks. Well, people suck and kids are just little people that can get away with more.
