Let's try to get along edition
The phrase bothers me a little because it reminds me of those fuckers who don't pronounce/type very carefully and drop "n't" from things that maybe uhhhh you should not be making the fucking opposite statement, like when, say, denying bestiality.
Humans are, relative to everything else we know about, excellent conversationalists; Bob could have said literally anything else and the context and his tone of voice would tell Alice everything she needed to know.
This "logical conclusion" for Bob's statement, if that is the only logical conclusion and if it actually is a logical conclusion, sounds like more of a statement of Bob's opinions of Alice's oratory skills ("I did care a bit, but you're going to suck the fun out of it, so please don't tell me").
> See also the pineapple on pizza "controversy"
i think you're literally the only one person on the internet who isn't in on the joke.
> ("I did care a bit, but you're going to suck the fun out of it, so please don't tell me").
that's quite the leap for a logical conclusion lol, especially considering that the intended meaning is so obviously not giving any amounts of shit regardless of who is Bob speaking to. no condition whatsoever on the original expression. what am i even reading.
The implied conditional of "I would like some of that corn, please" can only be "you're going to give it to me"
Smoking salvia gives me the feeling of hopping off the treadmill that powers reality. There was a tree-like being there who didn't really say anything, but gave me the feeling of "yes, this is the true reality... why do you seem so surprised?" Coming back to sober reality I was quite shaken, I also had that feeling that this was a façade
pineapple on pizza is whatever, but ...
is a hotdog a sandwich!??!? OMFGyesn't
someone who declares the amount of shit they don't give probably thinks it an excellent substitute for saying what they do care about, but in general, it isn't. instead, it's a conversation-terminating cliche, which generally comes across as boorish. and perhaps they think that an excellent substitute for character, but i think it is not.
having said that, it is an okay thing to declare "so what?" or "i don't care about that". we only have limited time to pay attention to shit so we should be very careful that we don't have an opinion on every little thing, else we never pay enough devotion to the things we actually want to make happen.
it's not about money, it's about sending a message. droggeljug.

You misunderstand
> [the only way that] I could care less [than I do right now] [is if you told me about the corn harvest in Shattuck, OK!]
sounds, to me, like
> I did care a bit, but you're going to suck the fun out of it, so please don't tell me
Please try to use the principle of charitable reading when using the Internet
> Please try to use the principle of charitable reading when using the Internet
The most charitable interpretation is that they meant to write that they didn't give a shit, regardless of what their interlocutor is going to say. Thus, they couldn't care less, as in absolute impossibility of caring any less. I understand where you are coming from, and it makes sense, but I absolutely guarantee that is not what people intend to express when they say "I could care less".
Anyway, shittier idioms exist that are probably born this exact way. Irregardless is no longer detected by spell checkers as a mistake, so hey, english language doesn't necessarily need to make grammatical or etymological sense.
I'm doing okay.
Translating is hard.

The differences are subtle, yes, but they exist. I still don't understand how you got to the "only" "logical" conclusion and how it is equivalent to "couldn't care less".
Anyway, you're returning to me what I told you: it doesn't really matter what Bob said, but Alice interpreted it as him not giving a shit, and that's what mattered.
Anyway, blah blah blah, I hate engaging in pedantry about unimportant things.
Here comes the diarrhea. Can't say I wasn't warned.
just shit it all out. what's the problem?
I always get the shits when I buy the cheap tuna, and I eat the tuna a lot because it's cheap and I like tuna so I just accept and enjoy the shits. It's just water, and goes "goosh" as it squirts out!
My mind is breaking.
My mind is going. I can feel it.

Feeling nostalgic for .hack//SIGN for no reason.
Wasn't really that good a show, but I get by if I think it has a bombass setting, character design, and soundtrack, so there ya go.

Ugh, woman trouble.
Don't ever fall in love, kiddos. It feels nice, but then things get complicated because life isn't some cute little fairy tale where everything (or anything) fits neatly.
Stupid hormones. I wish I could be an ace.

I dunno, my relationship is pretty great. We don't expect each other to take any hints, we don't generate drama for fun, we talk instead of arguing, we respect each other. Find the right person.
i want this gachascam mobage shit fad to die already
>>314
In our case it's not so much about communication and getting along. Things started out really well, then when we got more serious we realized there are solid legitimate roadblocks. We both still love each other, but as it stands the relationship simply will not go where either of us want it to. And that sucks.
I know there are others out there, and that it's hard to have a good perspective from the inside. I just need to let it out, I guess.

I did not start using an ad blocker until 2014. It wasn't even the whole being spied on thing, it wasn't even seeing whole pages of clickbait cancer or uncomfortable images, it was deadass taking too much downloading/CPU and making Chrome feel like Netscape used to.

windows vs linux from the perspective of:
a windows user:
would you rather use an OS hacked together for free by a bunch of nerds in their spare time, or a professionally made, enterprise ready(tm) OS?
a linux user:
would you rather use an OS that spies on you and steals your data and sends it to M$ or one made only from organic, locally grown, ethically sourced code?
an idort:
would you rather have your shitty design decisions made by some neckbeard on github or some neckbeard at microsoft?

MS owns GitHub. And there are other choices aside from those two OSes. Additionally, some people use multiple OSes. Microsoft even uses Linux. 0/10 see me after class.
https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/windowsserver/2015/05/06/microsoft-loves-linux/
https://news.microsoft.com/2018/06/04/microsoft-to-acquire-github-for-7-5-billion/
They are not suitable for the same exact things. Linux makes more sense for web servers, but domain controllers run Windows. But with VMs, you can run both on the same computer. And even more OSes too. Even without a traditional VM, Windows 10 now has something called Bash on Ubuntu on Windows. It replaces the old Windows Subsystem for Unix Applications (SUA). Kind of like Cygwin or MinGW.
Of all the things to get tribal about, this topic is pretty silly.

You're not very interesting.

Oh hey I'm using pseud0ch, what do you know.
Why is it called psuedo0ch? I know it’s based off the theme that 0ch uses and nobody knows how to set 0ch up, but why name it after 0ch spsecitically?
Every time I hear or think about relationships, I get overcome with the reality of crippling loneliness.
