I am starting to feel a bit sorry for EO here (except for the bit where she gets to see him naked). If our speculation is right, they have been involved since about September 14. Nearly 2 years and he won't either acknowledge it publicly or take it beyond the casual. Maybe that works for her, but she's been engaged before and what with her leaks to the press I kind of doubt that. I'm beginning to think that he is a Toxic Bachelor.
Here's the thing, if he comes right out and says "yes we are/were dating, no it isn't/wasn't serious" when he's casually with a woman, then when the day comes that he IS seriously with someone and he says "no comment" everyone's going to know something is up.
If he and EO are involved in some kind of commitment, the secrecy could just be that they know the relationship isn't "marriage material" for either of them and they don't want to put it on the record... though off-the-record tabloid leaks are apparently still fair game.
I guess it's also possible that it is over between them and his comments here only mean he's not going to talk about it, whatever it was.
His "some things have to remain sacred" comment is confirmation that they're still involved with each other imo.

I think he has always liked a good party. There are pics dating back years of him attending freebie parties (the Mulberry Bond Street flagship store opening, anyone?). It's just that he gets to attend better ones now.

He has most definitely said he doesn't like "the circus of celebrity". If you read the comments on this Celebitchy article you will see that nobody believes him!
I am sure that he didn't go into the business seeking fame for its own sake. I am also sure he didn't want or expect to be tumblr's darling or to be followed down the street and have people photograph him covertly and sell it to the DM. So in that sense I believe him when he says it's all about the Work. But he has said in other interviews that he gets jobs more easily now he is a bigger name, so he must accept that celebrity is helpful to the Work. And he certainly likes and takes advantage of some of the perks (free Wimbledon tix and so on). He wants to take the good and leave the bad, like a lot of them do.
