How much do you think it will last guys? I don't think it will end as soon as he leave for Thor3 (whenever that may be), they need to sell the idea this is a true love story now.
I also think that PR wise TH hasn't profited much, not just because media, facetious and serious, on both sides of the pond panned him, not just because his own fans panned him, but because at the end of this week the initial burst will be over, if the purpose was to acquire new people interested in his work it was a major fail. TayTay has what? 80mil followers on twitter? 1% of that is 800000, TH didn't have such a strong jump forward, not even of a 0,5%.
Worse still, he is now not more known or famous as Tom HIddleston actor etc. but as Taylor Swift new bf whose name is TH and looks like a dad. And when the breakup comes he'll have to deal with the press again.

I'm in it to watch how it all plays out. So far it's been horrific and embarrassing and humiliating for Tom. He's managed to raise his visibility but only because of his association with Taylor and even then he's a laughingstock. His own fans are laughing at him and jumping ship. Super stans say it doesn't matter, he's getting more hits and clicks than before but I feel quality matters too otherwise wouldn't studios be just casting Kardashians in everything since they're so famous?
Maybe it's a long term plan to stick it out with Taylor until Skull Island releases since he's the lead in it and walk the red carpet with her and get more famous but I don't know if it'll reach that far judging by the response right now. I'd like to think Tom has some self awareness and self respect where he'll put on the brakes on this circus and salvage whatever is left of his dignity and serious actor rep instead of flaming out on sheer hollow celebrity alone.

Couch, you asked how long we thought it might last. I am putting it in the 6-9 month category. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, so Australia might prolong the relationship rather than curtail it. And, as I said upthread, he may be defiant about being made a fool of and that might also make him hang on tighter.
Plus, at the moment he looks besotted, is living his dream relationship and is in the honeymoon phase where he will do everything she wants. Unless he has a heart of flint he won't just give up on someone he is very into because of some adverse publicity (even though it seems to have been very widespread on both sides of the Atlantic). It may take more than a few months to wake up and remember what he wants out of life and/or to realise that media interest in this one isn't going to die down and that it will be like this forever.

As for EO she was author or complicit in the PursePurseGate, she gave quite the performance that night, but contrary to what he looks in these photos with TayTay, TH that night looked pissed. Besides, after Hawaii the articles were shading TH not her, so she played the game for a little while. The difference is that I don't think she did it for PR purposes, but to push TH to commit. Either that or they both had the most lousy PR in the US.

I have to say, all this is slightly taking the joy out of being a TH fan. I am truly confused now. He looked a bit dead in the eyes after the dinner at Ruth Chris's steakhouse and after the concert as well. And truly uncomfortable with the entire situation just walking outside of the restaurant where he held Taylor's hand so loosely. Now, he's kissing TS's hand and leaning against her hand at dinner? Now I get it! They were out with her friends, so he's trying to establish that he cares. I think that the narrative is entirely for Taylor's benefit. Look world, Taylor has a man who romantically loves her. And they're dating in a lovely traditional way. Its her theme, and it would probably be the theme for all women if we could manage it. Plus she is sprinting out for the relationship w CH and winning their breakup.
Trading stories about Hollywood and Music world must be a blast, but I can't see them talking about anything else. It makes me smile when I see him struggling to act like he is protecting her, while surrounded by her security, and he gallantly holds the door, of her car. Maybe that's why he has no new clothes, they are the only thing he is still in control of. Maybe a part of his brain is fighting for reason.
Good point about sticking not sticking to a theory. Vacationing with a man at the beginning of a relationship (not usually quite this fast) is a high. B/c you are free from work entanglements, and you can just have fun together 24/7. And you bond incredibly quickly. But if the relationship starts at too furious a pitch, the man just freaks out after the vacation and needs, "space." Sadly, long vacations with couples at the start of relationships lead to breakups b/c of that very thing.
