I was wondering about the whole "how rich is Tom" thing recently. I am guessing he is on a par with, say, a partner in a top London law firm. Their net taxable is maybe £1m a year. I am sure he earns far more for some projects (I saw a VF thing which suggested for a $170m budget the star would get $8m - I reckon less for him as he is not yet A list - but still maybe $5m for SI). However that's not every project or every year, and he has a lot of overheads that a partner at a big firm wouldn't have to pay for - 15% to the agent, some for the publicist, the PA, the stylist, pension contributions etc. He is massively well off by the standards of the world at large but no way would he be in the private jet, multiple residences class like Swifty is.

So how do we think this is going to play out? Is it gonna be forever? Or is it gonna go down in flames? After all this bad press, will Tom be able to shake it off? When they break up, will they never ever get back together?

Based on absolutely no evidence only conjecture I do wonder if they can establish a true and lasting friendship beyond the honeymoon phase. It would be a first for Swifty and TH's track record ain't great either.
As much as TS irks me I can really see them smuttymooning together for quite a while. That old fashioned, old monied English charm and romanticism will keep TS spreading her legs and purse wide open and her youthful joie de vivre, social hierarchy/ access to all the right people and parties and the buzz of nabbing the queen of shit pop must be such an ego boost for TH. He'll want to parade her on his arm publicly and that's how she likes to play it too. They're both showunicorns.
It's anyones guess how long it will take for the beer goggles too fall off. I say when they do, she'll find him rather dull and he'll realise there's not that much under the surface.
I predict a sighting in Blighty before he goes to Oz to meet the family.

I'm only posting for you because like Mr.Swift representatives "I'm afraid I don't comment on the personal life of our child...client" With major stress on afraid as in "afraid of what I might say". Since I saw the news on the tv (yeah Mr Swift you made it to national news in my country) after months of not reading anything about him, I've been torn between laughter and disappointment.
There's speculation on CB about them recording a duet. Well, Tom's played Hank. I guess this will give him the opportunity to play Audrey too!

The theoanons blog pointed out that the beach is several miles from TS's house. So it isn't a case of the pap hanging around her place hoping to spot her in the immediate vicinity. The pap was somehow in the right place at the right time, in an area where paps don't usually hang out. Bit of a coincidence - like the pics I posted earlier of Cumberbatch and his wife making out having stopped at exactly the petrol station that the pap happened to be at, with all his kit.

Sure everybody's seen this but over on theoanons is a series of posts from anons saying that until very recently TH was dating a brunette phd student. Apparently this was an "open secret" in London. He also looks embarrassed in the underwear shots. Who thought this was a good idea? I know we all enjoyed looking at the HR photo of him on the sun lounger but somehow that felt different, I suppose because it was in Ballard's book and also because it was an expression of the character. Whereas this is an expression of Tom, and what Tom is saying to us is "hello, I'll just lie here in my pants with my legs apart so you can all get a good look at my package. Especially you! Is it an unreasonable intrusion into your privacy in RI law if you have kissed someone in public for all to see? My guess is probably not. English law also protects the right to family and private life but that doesn't extend to PDAs in public places unless it was clearly somewhere where they reasonably expected not to be seen. Or if they were naked on a nudist beach - you might say they did not expect to be seen save by other nudists!

When do we think these pics were taken? I am kind of assuming that there is a turnaround time for publication and that they were probably taken during the press tour.

Torrilla has provided the answer! She is a clever girl. She just posted pics of Tom leaving the Standard Hotel in NYC on 18 April 16 wearing exactly the same outfit (well, we can't see the pants) including the white shirt, which he doesn't wear so frequently. The photo credits mention Chateau Marmont but also the Standard. Looks like the pics may well have been taken then - which would make sense as magazines don't usually take pics and release them a few days later. They wait till the print issue is imminent (as Esquire did with the pool pics). W has probably been sitting on these for a while and after last week's shenanigans it saw its moment.
So not a totally orchestrated TH-snogs-TayTay-releases-underwear-pics scenario. But still - what was he thinking? What?

There is nothing accidental about this shoot. Having worked on plenty like it I can assure you both TH and his PR would have overseen the design and watched every shot in the monitor like a hawk. Nothing gets past them without their approval. If they don't like the shoot it's buried or reshot. I'm pretty sure the text and release date are their call too from conversations I've overheard.
He isn't dumb. He's a bit of an idiot and I'm like this idiot for all the wrong reasons. Heart eyes to the current entertainment value but I think soon I will pity him, which is not hot.

I don't disagree with you at all that TH and his people bought into this whole concept. It can't be like he goes into the room for a portrait shot and some sleazy guy says "now we drop all zee clozes onto zee bed". Sadly I think he thought this was a good idea. Though his expression suggests he changed his mind once his trousers were off!
Nor do I doubt that he knew when it would appear. I guess they agreed the July issue because he was about to disappear from the public eye for 6 months filming Thor so it would generate a bit of buzz lasting after he got too busy.
But as I said above if he's in the print issue as well as online that must have been in the pipeline for a while surely? Before he even met Swifty? What I mean is I am sure he intended to be shirtless Bond audition all over the media in late June but he didn't plan it to coincide with the big reveal about the TS relationship.

I feel like if the W pics had come out on their own, we wouldn't be laughing. I'm casting some doubts on the timeline. This seems a little too cosy, too familiar to be a first dance.
What if there was a real cheating scandal, that it was no coincidence he was invited to Wintours dinner party the night before and then seated next to Swift at the Met. The Sun got wind of the scandal and blackmailed the exclusive rights to the photo op- the timing of its release was mighty circumspect. This latest photoshoot would then have been orchestrated as part of the relationship rollout because it just doesn't make sense otherwise. It looks like it should have accompanied his TNM press tour but it comes out now to showcase Mr Swift?
