What with having three exams this week, I had rather hoped to be able to quietly focus on revision and suppressing panic. So, naturally, in my house in the last 24 hours,

• The power has cut out for several hours, apparently due to one of the outdoor lights short circuiting in the rain
• The heating cut out overnight, apparently due to the thermostat not having power
• The internet connection has cut out (despite my social recluse housemate power cycling it every five minutes), apparently unrelated

Now I'm just waiting for the plumbing to cut out, the gas line to cut out, the boiler to cut out, the roof to develop a leak or, perhaps, for the entire sorry excuse for a house to just collapse in on itself.
